   What should I expect going to a Disney Wedding Coordinator meeting?
   My fiance and I are having a wedding at Disney. We're meeting with the coordinator this Saturday (May 21st, 2011), I want to know what should we expect when we go into the meeting? What information do we need to have on hand?

   • ANSWER:
     you should expect to pay a lot!

2. QUESTION:
   Can I just have a Disney wedding reception without the wedding ceremony?
   My fiancee and I already have a location for where we want our wedding ceremony to take place; however, Disneyland has always been a part of our lives since the time we first met 8 years ago, and we wanted to have a Disney wedding reception. When I checked online, their weddings come in packages including an on-site ceremony. I was wondering if it was possible for us to just book the reception and do away with the ceremony?

   • ANSWER:
     No you can not. You have to have the entire Disney Wedding Package, which also means you must stay at one of the on site Disney resorts for a certain amount of time.

     Disney weddings are NOT worth the money. It's a generic wedding, you don't get to use the park, it's set off from the tourists and castles.

   disney wedding.....?
   Not really a question....but I had inquired about disney weddings(knowing how expeinsive they are), but i was still curious. Today I get an email from them withthis list of lavish things....in park weddings START at 0,000!!!! i practically crapped myself! Rediculous....... lol
   the email is super long....I'd post it, but this would be endless. But the person that said that they met with a consultant there is right, too many add ons and not able to customize it how you want.
   Get this...if you want characters(mickey minnie) its like 1200 bucks for a half hour!

     I live in Florida and have been to 2 Disney weddings.
     They were unbelievable! One bride actually hired 2 small people to carry her train throughout the day! The food was unbelievable. Everything was over the top in every detail, the costs exceeded 0,000.

     Now, the rest of the story....not even a year later, the first couple divorced. The second couple, are not happy and
     struggling every day to keep payments up on the lavish house they purchased. Why not do something on a smaller scale and put that money towards the down payment would be my choice.

   How much is the Disney Wedding Couture Package by David Tutera cost?
   I am recently engaged and have been looking into a Disney Weddings. I have already check the Disney wedding website but of course the price is not listed. If anyone has an idea..it would be greatly appreciated.

     they just had it on WE TV last night and a david tutera wedding is starting around ,000!

     the ,000 weddings are the very basic but on average brides spend -30K at disneyland

     they have some that start at ,000 but that's only for 25 people and you get married in a really remote location that doesn't look like disneyland.

     if you want one of the couture weddings you better be prepared to spend alot of money

     EDIT: i forgott.. if you want the whole getting married infront of the castle you need to pick the everything package from disneyland which is the one that starts about K. the david weddings are in a few set locations.

5. QUESTION:
   What is the special wedding gift give to the couple at a Disney World wedding?
   I've heard from a few places that Disney gives the happy couple having a Disney wedding a special gift, but none that state what it is. Anyone have any ideas?
   I think I need to clarify. DISNEY gives a gift to the couple who has a wedding on property (books one of their special weddings). I was just curious what that gift was and I didn't want to bother them over sheer curiosity.

     I think you should clarify that you are asking what the wedding planners at disneyland give to the bride and groom. Not what guests should give.

     I think your best bet is to ring disney weddings and ask, they are unlikely to refuse to tell you. If they can't tell you what you would get, ask for some examples of what has been given in the past.

6. QUESTION:
   How much is a Disney Wedding?
   Roughly, how much a a Disney World wedding?

   • ANSWER:
     Depends on what time of year it is.

7. QUESTION:
   Anyone had or been to a Disney World wedding?
   heyyyyy everyone! I was just planning my wedding again and thought that a Disney Wedding would be FABULOUS! Anyone have any experience with Disney Weddings? Or just have been to one? How was it? How many people were there? etc. But I am not concerned about the price since I am only curious thx everyone!

     I thought it'd be amazing too. So I went to their website and watched videos on youtube.com of actual weddings. I looked up pictures and saw a couple of weddings on tv that took place there. I was not impressed at all. They just look like any other normal wedding that you could have in your own home town. It's not fairytale like you would imagine. It's pretty plain and you still have to decorate accordingly to get the magical fairytale effect of the wedding you are thinking of. And yeah,they are very expensive. And much to my disapointment, you cannot get married in Cinderella's castle.

     You can rent a horse and carriage almost anywhere, and they are just as pretty (I think prettier) as the one you can rent at Disney.

8. QUESTION:
   Where can I get a Disney Princess wedding dress?
   I know that Kirstie Kelly makes wedding dresses "inspired" by the Disney princesses, but these aren't what I'm talking about. I'm looking for a white version of Belle's yellow ballgown from The Beauty and the Beast. Price is not an issue. Thanks!

     You could take a picture of Belle's dress to a local dress maker - before you hire someone to make the dress you should be sure to get references and see samples of their work.

     Here are a few that you might like. They are somewhat similiar to Belle. I really like Belle's dress - it's very elegant. You can also look for quinceanera gowns - I think those gowns will be more of what you are looking for.

9. QUESTION:
   Has anybody ever had their disney wedding ceremony here?

     Contact the wedding planners at Disney and ask them for references from couples who have had their ceremony there.

     When I was in high school I did a project on weddings and the wedding planners were very helpful. It shouldn't be a problem to give you some references.

11. QUESTION:
    how can I decorate for my wedding with Disney and Fall?
    My fiance and I are getting married in the fall. We are from the country and we want to have a country wedding. Our themes are Fall, Country, and Disney(he proposed at my favorite place Magic Kingdom in Disney World at the castle). Any ideas for decorating?

    • ANSWER:
      Unfortunately, those three things do not really make an effective "theme" for a wedding. I think you can pick ONE of those and have a field day. I would probably stay away from the Disney theme for your wedding, unless you plan on having it AT Disneyland or Disney World. Otherwise, your beloved theme might come across as...ummm...a bit childish & tacky to your guests. Look at Martha Stewart Weddings (magazine) it has a huge selection of Country/Fall ideas. They are clever, but classy.

      BTW, I'm not knocking Disney, I just don't really think it's appropriate for an entire wedding. Save it for your honeymoon if you truly love it!

12. QUESTION:
    Would you have a wedding/go to a wedding at The Museum of Natural History in NYC or a Disney Wedding?
    I was wondering if you would plan/ go to a wedding at those to places. Could you tell me the price and what you know about these to wedding locations also?

    • ANSWER:
      I like the idea of either and I think they are both great choices, after all it is your wedding and you can do what you want. I think both wedding locations would be fun for your guests as well- "Happily Ever After" comes to mind when I think Disney )...cute idea. Though it may be a little expensive, just depends on your budget. Also as stated before guests may not all be able to afford it but also if you give them plenty of notice...they might be fine. We gave our guests over a years notice so they have had plenty of time to save. Plus it is only for an evening and if they are only planning to come for the day, its not like they are planning to spend a week at either place but of course travel might get a little pricy. Good luck with your wedding and your people should support whatever decision you make-it's your wedding and you only do it once (well that is the goal haha)...if that is your dream wedding....go for it!

      Nope! You don't have to get married there in order to use the package you mentioned. Just call the number you found on the website and you can schedule the photoshoot. A "honeymoon" photo session like that runs between 0 and 0 (I was looking into it at one point as well) Hope that helps!

    Do you like the Disney Wedding dresses? I think they are beautiful. They have bridal and maiden gowns. Click on it. For some reason the maiden gowns aren't on there right now, but they were on the other day. There are supposed to be jewels too, but I can't find the pictures anywhere.       those are absolutly gorgeous!! i would wear one in a heartbeat!! that is the way a bride should look on her wedding day in my opinion...weddings should be a total fairytale and dream come true...definitly wearing one when i get married and i think that price is reasonable but i dont know for sure cuz ive never been married lol thats probably whats id expect to pay for a dress..especially ones that look like that!! thats a bargain if u ask me

    Any advice for the Mother of the Groom for a Disney World wedding this coming October?

      Yes....bring your wallet!! LOL

      Seriously, I have never been to a Disney wedding, but I have been to Disney World many, many times. Like everything "Disney," I am sure the wedding will be very elegant. I picture beautiful scenery, lovely flowers, great food, etc.

      I don't know what kind of "advice" you are looking for. Obviously, you will want to check with the bride and/or her mother as to what type of dress they want you to get (meaning...the length...short, t-length, long, etc.)

      The only other thing would be if you are going to be in charge of arranging the rehearsal dinner. Where I live, this is always done by the groom's parents, but that is not to say that you HAVE to do this. Just an idea. Perhaps the bride and her mother have this element under control. But, if they want you to arrange it, and if you want to as well, I would suggest to call and talk with the wedding coordinators at Disney World about this. They are more than willing to work with you.

      ALSO, there are many, many places "off-site" to have a rehearsal dinner. You would not necessarily have to have it on Disney property.

      Other than that...there really is not much that the groom's mother can do. I know. I have "been there...done that."

    Has anyone seen the Alfred Angelo Disney Wedding dresses?
    OMG i think im in love with the Belle Dress....I seen it last week on the website and I feel for it. I've looked at plenty of dress and none had that WOW factor for me until i seen this dress. I love the bodice and the skirt, not keen on the shoulder bit but its detachable. Only thing is its nearly £1400 and I'm on a tight budget of £900, do you think a dress maker could replicate it at a lower price?

      Usually anything custom is more expensive.
      Take a picture of the dress to a bridal boutique and they could find similar dresses in your price range.

    How do you add on the wedding package to the disney cruise line?
    My fiance and I are going to go to Castaway Cay to get married on the disney cruise line. I want to book it for may of 2011, but i can only book the cruise. I dont know how to add on the wedding package. does anyone know how to do this? I click on packages and nothing shows up.

      My husband and I were married at Disneyland in October 2007. Our wedding ceremony was held at the Rose Court Garden at the Disneyland Hotel, with the reception in the Sleeping Beauty Pavilion at the same Hotel. It was beautiful and unforgettable. The prices are only steep unless you are looking to go really extravagant. We live in Arizona and found that we would have paid the same price at a nice hotel locally. Yes, there were the extra costs of travel, but it was all worth it. We had a small guest list, only 45 guests, and had our wedding in the morning. We spent less than , 000 for everything (photo, video, Reverend, flowers, food, etc).

      If you want a park wedding, the minimum expenditure that you have to spend is , 000, if I remember correctly. Prices do go up every year, so you would have to check. You also have to wait to do your wedding after park hours and you have to use only Disney for your floral, DJ, and some other things. If you get married at the Hotel, you can use outside floral companies and other vendors (except food and cake).

      I could go on and on about this. The best thing I did was join Disneyland brides group and Disneyland Weddings group here on yahoo. You can get info from past brides, like myself, and ones that are planning their weddings. They are both great resources for planning your wedding, or just to get more info, like you are doing now.

      It more than likely retails in that price range and the reason bridal shops tell you that wide of price range is they are not looking up the dress itself they are only going by the Designer name Kirstie Kelly for Disney. Not all bridal shops charge the same and they don't always use the same manufacturer.If your looking to save money you might check out either a local seamstress or someone who orders look a like dresses.

      For example, if we would order it for you it would be a Designer Replica(without the designer label) and would cost approximately 0.

      you can make cindarella carriage center pieces. Bridesmaid dresses could be similar to cindarellas with their hair in buns and the long gloves. Do an area at the reception with big bright pillows that maybe references Alladin. You can make an apple type desert for guests and theme it around Snow white. Of course make the first dance song one of the great romantic disney songs. Maybe find invitations with a glass slipper on them. Those are just some suggestions to start ;0)

    Do you think it's appropriate to have a Jewish wedding at Disney World?
    My fiancee and I have been thinking about it lately. I'm 30, and he's 34. We're both Jewish, so we want a chupa at the wedding, and hire a Rabbi to make us exchange our vows. We're not religious Jewish though, we're just conservative. We're using the Disney Wishes Collection package (I really want to have my ceremony in the Cinderella castle).

      Yes, it is completely appropriate to have your wedding at Disney World! Disney does not discriminate against any religions. They help couples of all religions celebrate their weddings every year and are very accomodating to any needs that you have. If you call and talk to a wedding specialist they will put your mind at ease.

      I wanted to have a Disney wedding back at home in Pennsylvania instead of at Florida. I called the Disney Wedding Team and they set me up with a wonderful team member who helped me with everything! They did my invitations, programs, cake & more. I can't say enough about them!

      One thing though, is that you cannot have your wedding inside the castle. Most of the castle is actually not functioning space. There is a restaurant inside, but it's very small. And there's a suite that sometimes people get to sleep in, although right now it's just used for contests. You can have your wedding in front of the castle though, before the park opens or after it closes. It's a beautiful set-up!

      Here is some info I found. You will actually want to call them since they have several different wedding locations on the ships. Some are on deck 7, some in the chapel, some on their private island during your cruise. Only 2 disney ships offer packages.

      Do you want to be AT Disney? I would get other experience in the field first. If not, as a wedding planner working freelance you can specialize in anything you want and send people to Disney venues, liaising with them. You will have to advertise and find ways to get the discounts to sell your packaging. Find some kind of wedding vendor to work for while you are in school. There are plenty of part time positions with caterers, hotels, venues, decor vendors, etc, even wedding planners already in business. Go to the big bridal shows and get a feel for the business.

      If you are referring to Downtown Disney in Disney World, then I'd say save Downtown Disney for after dinner. The classiest restaurant in Disney World is by FAR the restaurant above Cinderella's Castle. Excellent chef.

      Again, this one really doesn't answer your question, but I'm going to throw it in anyway. I know that Disney's general staff is IMPECCABLE. I can't honestly imagine anything less from their wedding consultants and planners. I'd go ahead and call them up and just talk to them and see what they can offer you. You should be able to get a good feel of them well in advance.

      Glass Slippers as favours filled with candy. A carriage and horses for the top of the cake. Snowflakes on the cake. Snowglobes and little trees. Get invitations with a castle on it. With the words, Dreams Do Come True. Get the flower girl to throw little snowflakes down the isle with glitter instead of flower petals. Don't forget your cape with the maribou trim. Also for transportation the horse and buggy would be perfect or perhaps if there is a lot of snow a sleigh pulled by horses.

      here is a link that includes pricing and the most affordable is ,750 deluxe wedding meaning it's only the ceremony (monday thru friday) and to have a saturday or sunday wedding must exceed ,500 at the least meaning you must add on other things to a total of at least 7,500.

      if your looking to have more then just the ceremony there your looking at more then ,000 and this does not include hotel fees, taxes, service taxes and so on.
