Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
    Disney weddings???
Did you or someone you know have a wedding at one of the disney parks or hotels? how was it?

    • ANSWER:
No - BUT I did order their Disney Weddings DVD... it was just WAY out of my budget to have everyone I wanted there.

I was at Epcot two nights ago and saw a lovely (small- 25 people or so) wedding reception on the lake in the middle of the countries. It looked very well set up.

With Disney in charge- you KNOW that things will be taken care of and beautiful... I just don't think I would be inviting and Disney characters into my reception like some people do. :)

Just be ready to gasp at the prices they want for what they provide... then again anything with the word "wedding" in it is expensive.

(I would assume a wedding at a hotel would be cheaper and maybe even nicer- definately more private - than at a park.)

  2. QUESTION:
    Disney Weddings.......?
Anyone had one, been to one, planning one?
Just looking to hear anything and everything you wish to share.
I didn't ask what you thought was tacky.
Who even uses the word "tacky" anymore?
    Stick to the question please.
To anyone who doesn't know the world is made of loads of different people with different tastes don't impose your preference on them. Answer the question.
About the above question...I figured that was common sense.
Thank you ladies. I don't know if I would have one myself but I'm exploring all options =)
If you can't answer the question properly don't waste your energy.
I saw that the prices are a bit high. Im definitely researching way in advanced for that very reason. Thank you so much.
Learn to read and follow directions.

    • ANSWER:
I've never been to one of these weddings, but I've been to both Disneyland in Anaheim (business) and Disney World (vacation) and happened to see weddings both times. They really looked fun and there's no reason it has to be tacky (and yes, people use this word!). They have very nice facilities for ceremonies and receptions, and the people we saw were either leaving the reception or it was like a day later and they had "just married" disney t-shirts. It was fine. And if you like fireworks do it near Epcot.

EDIT: I agree with Shannon. It's a misconception that Disney weddings mean a happy couple wearing Mickey ears and acting like morons. Both sites have some beautiful reception rooms and it can be done tastefully. It's no different than any other destination wedding, nor is it like someone wanting a Disney theme to their wedding.

  3. QUESTION:
Does Disney offer discounts on weddings for military?
I was interested in having a wedding at Disney World. I understand that they can become quite expensive but ever since I was young I have dreamed of having a wedding with the castle as my backdrop. My fiance is in the United States Navy and I am a recent college graduate with a teachers degree. I know that Disney takes care of our armed forces by offering them great discounts but I cannot find anything that says they offer discounts on weddings. Does anyone know? If so how much of a discount do they offer? Thanks is advance.

    • ANSWER:
Check at Shades of green...it's not technically a disney resort/hotel anymore (I think it's actually owned by the military or the USO) they are a military only hotel/resort on disney property.

  4. QUESTION:
Disney Fairytale Weddings on Food Network-Who is the decorator
Did anyone see the show that aired a couple of months ago called Disney Fairytale Weddings on Food Network. I am trying to find the name and website for the decorator. The episode I seen, the bride had an rust red or orange sash around her waist. Anyone know who the decorator was? I know it was a man. Can't remember his name. It aired on Food Network. The did the show on the food and the decor as well as the castle. Then the showed the wedding. Please help.

    • ANSWER:
No luck sorry. Best bet is to contact the show. Most Disney Weddings use a Disney planner. Disney has an entire staff of wedding planners and when you call to book a Fairytale wedding you get one automatically assigned to you. The Food Network probably used a planner too but that guy would have worked hand in hand with the Disney Planner as all things have to be approved by the park first.

      Sorry I can't help.

  5. QUESTION:
Disney Weddings Around the World and pricing?
My girlfriend is a big Disney Fanatic, so I know she wants to do a disney wedding, I read that a disney wedding in Florida is anywhere from 20-30k but how about Tokyo (where she's from) and the other disney resorts, i.e. california?
EDIT: Well most of Disney's official websites don't list pricing.

I also did find that Tokyo Disney is still doing weddings at the Ambassador Hotel and the Miracosta (Disney Sea) Hotel.

    • ANSWER:
they are all roughly about that price depending on what you want.... i would love to do it, but its so expensive!

      http://www.disneyweddings.go.com/site/gate/index.jsp

edit....if you go to the above site, there is a sample price guide....if you want a direct price quote for exactly what you want, call them up or request info based on your needs. they will give you a rough estimate. GOod luck!

  8. QUESTION:
Having trouble with Disney Weddings ... Anyone else ?
My fiance and I want to get married in Disneyland. So, we called and got assigned to a wedding planner, but she hasn't returned ANY of my phone calls. So I called the main number again to be assigned to a different planner. Same issue - so I called again and asked if everyone was on vacation.
I finally got through to a planner and have had nothing, but struggle !
We chose Disneyland b/c of the high standard they set, but I am appaled at how they are handling this. We have a budget for just under 0,000 so I would think they would try harder to keep us. Has anyone else dealt with this behavior with the Disney weddings ??

    • ANSWER:
I would recommend going elsewhere. You are spending alot of money, and even if you weren't, returning a phone call is the tiniest thing someone can do for a client. Go where your money is appreciated. I know others have mentioned your budget isn't much compared with what Disney has overall, but that has nothing to do with anything--by that logice, they have to right to treat an average family of 4 like dirt because they don't need to care about them? That's absurd logic. I would put the complaint in writing, being specific about dates you called, etc and make a final attempt or I would just go elsewhere.

  9. QUESTION:
Weddings at the Cinderella Castle in Disney World?
I just want to know if anyone has done it on here and if it was "magical" haha. I've always wanted to get married there and I just want to know if it is amazing.
And yes, it is possible so dont say its not.

    • ANSWER:
It is possible. I don't know anyone that has done this, but Disney does offer Wedding Package. They are somewhat expensive. I saw one for ,000. That sounds expensive, but when you consider the fact that it's Disney, somewhat high-end and formal; that's really not expensive at all.

      Here's the website:

      http://www.disneyweddings.go.com/site/gate/index.jsp

  10. QUESTION:
How much is the Disney Wedding Couture Package by David Tutera cost?
I am recently engaged and have been looking into a Disney Weddings. I have already check the Disney wedding website but of course the price is not listed. If anyone has an idea..it would be greatly appreciated.

    • ANSWER:
they just had it on WE TV last night and a david tutera wedding is starting around ,000!

the ,000 weddings are the very basic but on average brides spend -30K at disneyland

they have some that start at ,000 but that's only for 25 people and you get married in a really remote location that doesn't look like disneyland.

if you want one of the couture weddings you better be prepared to spend alot of money

EDIT: i forgott.. if you want the whole getting married infront of the castle you need to pick the everything package from disneyland which is the one that starts about K. the david weddings are in a few set locations.

  11. QUESTION:
How do guys feel about Disney princess- or Cinderella-themed weddings?
I seriously doubt I could have sold my husband on the idea of being Prince Charming for a day. Just curious as to what other guys think.
Oops, I see a clarification is needed: what do MEN feel about these types of weddings.

    • ANSWER:
OK...by the answer before me, I'm not old enough to get married...lmao. Whatever. I'm having a Cinderella themed wedding. And yes, I'm also an "older" bride...I'll be 30 next summer when my fiance and I tie the knot.

I love the idea of it (obviously...lol)! I'm doing it more the castle theme though. The only Cinderella items I'm actually having period are my "glass slipper" shoes (shown here... http://www.bridalonlinestore.com/Collection/product-page.asp?q=Shoes&SKU=418 ) and my unity candle (shown here...http://bridalshop.freeservers.com/CINunity.html with royal blue ribbon instead of the navy in the big picture). Everything else is the castles (invitations, flowergirl basket/ringbearer pillows, cake, etc.)

*ADD* SORRY!! I thought your question said "you guys" lol. My guy is totally cool with it. The only thing he put his foot down on was no pink vests for the guys (fine by me! i hate the color) and no prince charming costume for him (too cheap looking anyway, and I'd prefer him in a tux). If I gave him those 2 demands, the only other things he wanted were to plan the rehearsal dinner and to be in charge of the beer/booze for the reception.

  12. QUESTION:
What are some the nicest resorts in Florida besides Disney Resorts for Weddings...?

    Wedding PR Myths

Wedding PR, in the form of featured weddings in magazines and blogs, is an attractive notion to most wedding professionals. The idea of having our names in lights with the hope of building our wedding business and increasing sales has become a more popular notion over the last several years. In order to build a strong Wedding PR plan, however, it's imperative to understand the top Wedding PR myths and challenges that you may face along the way.

  13. QUESTION:
Disney Weddings - Disneyland vs. DisneyWorld! Help!?
My fiance and I are seriously thinking about having a Disney Wedding rather than a traditional wedding at home. We'd like opinions though, from those that have visited the parks or even have gotten married there, on which would be a better choice. We are thinking of the Castle as a possibility, since after all what little girl hasn't dreamed of a fairy tale wedding? So any and all help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Also, we have looked at the official website provided through Disney. Thanks again!

    • ANSWER:
Disney brides and grooms don't marry at the castle (unless you rent the park after hours $$$$$). They marry on the wedding pavilion that has been built for that purpose that has an awesome backdrop, or there are places at the various resort hotels.

The girl above me who commented is also right about Disney weddings being tightly scheduled and not terribly flexible. Disney employs professional event coordinators who do nothing but schedule and manage events on Disney property. You'll have to probably by a pre-designed package that gives you choices on very specific things.

I like Disneyland. I LOVE Disney World. Love it love it love it. Disney World would be my recommendation.

  14. QUESTION:
Is disney world weddings worth it?
I have been looking at disney world weddings, mainly the escapes package. I called disney and they were really shadey on the details. I dont want to fork over 1000 dollars to hold my spot in november and its complete BS. I want a small simple wedding where everyone can have fun. I have heard people say they suck and its over priced for what you get and others say escape weddings are ok and I have heard if u want a wedding at disney you better get wishes. So, can anyone shed light on this and if not can yoou tell me what should I do to plan a wedding I am soooo lost (budget is from 2000-6000 for 20 people).

    • ANSWER:
You write: Is disney world weddings worth it?

Sadly, no. I think there are much better wedding packages out there and at more reasonable prices.

You asked how to plan a wedding. Try the Knot.
      http://www.theknot.com/
Use their wedding checklist and budget calculator, on the left under "planning tools." You may not want or need everything mentioned at the Knot, but it is a good place to start.

  15. QUESTION:
    Disney Escape Weddings?
I'm going to be popping the question to my girlfriend within the next year and i know that her dream has always been to have a Disney Wedding. The Disney Wishes Weddings are too expensive, but the smaller Escape ones seem to be within my doing. I have seen the website and used to get some quotes, but i was just wondering if anyone could give me any info they might have on it. Prices, Are they any good, what's included, wedding advisors, if anyone has ever had one, etc... Your help is greatly appreciated and ill award 10 points to whoever gives me the most info. thanks

    • ANSWER:
If u haven't already order a DVD from the web site it goes in detail about everything you need to know about the locations the packages and what it includes. It also comes with a small booklet about prices, options, testimonial and upgrades.

or you can also read through this website it is pretty detail about what to expect she also has good tips and advice.

  16. QUESTION:
I wanna hear from people who have had their wedding at Disney World?
My fiance and I are looking to get married their in June 2011 after he gets done his tour of duty in Afghanistan. I wanted to hear from some people who have actually had weddings there. How are the consultants and planners? Did everything go smoothly for you? We are from New Jersey, so all of our guests will be traveling to Florida. I love Disney so much so this suits me perfectly. Any information on Disney Weddings would be great! Thanks in advance!!

    • ANSWER:
Again, this one really doesn't answer your question, but I'm going to throw it in anyway. I know that Disney's general staff is IMPECCABLE. I can't honestly imagine anything less from their wedding consultants and planners. I'd go ahead and call them up and just talk to them and see what they can offer you. You should be able to get a good feel of them well in advance.

  17. QUESTION:
Anyone had or been to a Disney World wedding?
heyyyyy everyone! I was just planning my wedding again and thought that a Disney Wedding would be FABULOUS! Anyone have any experience with Disney Weddings? Or just have been to one? How was it? How many people were there? etc. But I am not concerned about the price since I am only curious thx everyone! :)

    • ANSWER:
I thought it'd be amazing too. So I went to their website and watched videos on youtube.com of actual weddings. I looked up pictures and saw a couple of weddings on tv that took place there. I was not impressed at all. They just look like any other normal wedding that you could have in your own home town. It's not fairytale like you would imagine. It's pretty plain and you still have to decorate accordingly to get the magical fairytale effect of the wedding you are thinking of. And yeah, they are very expensive. And much to my disapointment, you cannot get married in Cinderella's castle.

You can rent a horse and carriage almost anywhere, and they are just as pretty (I think prettier) as the one you can rent at Disney.

      Here's their website: http://disneyweddings.disney.go.com/weddings/florida/wishes/detail

Also visit youtube.com and watch actual ceremonies that have taken place there and you be the judge. Might be exactly what you want. I guess I just expected more.

  18. QUESTION:
Is it true you can pick which Disney Characters you would like to attend your wedding and reception?
This can only be done with Disney Weddings if it's true.

    • ANSWER:
Yes, it's true. You may pick out which characters you would like to attend your wedding reception. For the special occasion, Mickey and Minnie will come dressed as a bride and a groom. Or you could have Donald and Daisy, or any characters that you'd like, really. But, of course, the more characters you have the more expensive it will be.

lol The person above is crazy! It wouldn't draw attention away from the couple! They're just there for fun and entertainment, just like you may have a DJ or a band play music.

      Hope I could help!

  19. QUESTION:
    weddings in disney world?
how much does a really nice wedding in disney world cost?

    • ANSWER:
How much money do you have to spend?

And while that's answering a question with a question--it's true. You can spend as much as you have on a "really nice wedding" in Disney World. Here's a link for more information.

      http://www.disneyweddings.go.com/site/gate/index.jsp

  20. QUESTION:
    disney themed weddings?
Im thinking about doing a beauty and the beast theme, but nothing too over powering. My wedding color is blue, so im just not sure how id work it in. maybe yellow as an accent color? Im also open to ariel and cinderella.. i dont care if it sounds childish. Everyone who knows me, knows im a disney princess!

    • ANSWER:
I wrote an answer to a similar question the other night. The girl wanted to know how to hold a Cinderella themed wedding using her wedding color, navy blue. Since it is similar to what you're looking for, here is the link: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgQzR0H2OhfWQQgVzO7WW.Lsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20100702070949AASesZC&show=7#profile-info-Rehg9EkJaa

Of course, since you seem unsure of which story to choose, maybe you really want your theme to be "Fairy Tales" and you can choose elements from all of the stories. In that case, in addition to my suggestions given in the other post, you could incorporate:
      1) Cinderella: A ring bearer pillow with a small glass slipper on it
      2) Snow White: Give mini caramel apples for favors or drink apple martinis
      3) Sleeping Beauty/Snow White: Have your floral arrangements be a combination of traditional flowers (roses - a must for Beauty and the Beast!) and evergreens to give your site an enchanted forest feel. Put actual trees at the end of your aisle to define your ceremony space and on the stage at your reception.
      4) All Fairy Tales: Don't use table numbers. Name each table after a different story.
      5) All Fairy Tales: Use a big gilded book to serve as your guest book. All of the old Disney princess films start with a book opening to tell the story.
      6) Sleeping Beauty: Dress your flower girls as fairies complete with wings
      7) Snow White: Include some faux gems in your flowers or on your escort card table. The dwarves were diamond miners!
      8) All Fairy Tales: Include Disney love songs during your cocktail hour. Almost every Disney princess movie has a great love song: "Once Upon a Dream" - Sleeping Beauty, "Love" - Robin Hood, "Bella Notte" - Lady & the Tramp, "So This is Love" - Cinderella, etc. I say include them in cocktail hour because guests will want to dance during the reception.
      9) Beauty and the Beast - Use elaborate china to serve your guests. If it isn't in your budget, maybe just host a Bridesmaid's Tea to thank your bridesmaids for their help.

I hope these suggestions help. I think by using "fairy tales" as your wedding theme instead of matching too closely to a Disney movie will help keep your wedding from coming across as too childish. Besides, in this scenario, not only are you the princess, but your future hubby is prince charming. And they both lived happily ever after....

  21. QUESTION:
What do you think of Disney opening up its theme parks and cruise ships to gay weddings?
I don't think it could be about business since they potentially could loose some. I don't know, maybe its progressive, maybe it is about business. Any thoughts?
Yes, they do for straight weddings. Imagine Mickey and Minnie coming to your reception. LOL

    • ANSWER:
While I have absolutely no issue with people who are gay, this is obviously about business. How many people are actually not going to go to Disney World now because of this.....very few. Now they have opened up a whole new market its very intelligent. I just look forward to when everyday can just be Human Day and we can leave our judgements and ignorance checked at the turn styles.

  22. QUESTION:
    disney escape weddings??
has anyone ever had a disney escape wedding at disney world, and if so wot did u do for a reception in the evening after the wedding and photos
    thanks

    • ANSWER:
I looked at the Disney escape wedding package. They do have a little reception for you with a two tier cake, so depending on what time your event is that could take care of it.

I would suggest taking the monorail over to the contemporary and hanging out at the lounge or the California grill. They even pipe in the music from the fireworks show so you can watch it from there.

What I probably would have done is gotten into a different white dress (like a tea length sundress or something), kept the veil, and gone straight to the Magic Kingdom. I think there would be some great photo ops (right by the castle, going down splash mountain, riding small world, etc.). I would have tried to have dinner at Cinderella's royal table, or the crystal palace that evening.

Make sure to let everyone know that it's your wedding/honeymoon. There are pins at guest services for those events, and a lot of magical things happen when people realize that it's your special day/days.

  23. QUESTION:
    Weddings at Disney???
Hi guys, I want to hear from people in the UK who have been married at Disney in Florida and what it was like? I am a huge disney fan as is my pther half and we are planning our wedding at the moment, but just want to hear from anybody who has done it and what it was like! We are planning for an intimate wedding at the wedding pavilion at the grand floridian resort. With 18 guests, although we would like more! Is it worth getting a wishes wedding and do u really have to have ur guests staying at disney?! We only have around 22 guests and they are all on a tight budget! Help please!!!! x
I am not on a tight budget but some of my my family members will be. I realise we have to stay for 4 nights am just worried about our families having too also.
Have been on the disney weddings website and have the dvd but want people experiences and personal info/recommendations please!!!

    • ANSWER:
Although I am not from the UK, I wanted to throw two other thoughts out there. Your guests may be able to stay at one of the value resorts at Disney like PopCentury or All Stars and if you plan your wedding to be in an "off season" like Sept or January the room cost will be cheaper too. That might help your guests with their budgets.
I have not had my wedding at Disney but I have been honored to be a guest there and they are anything but tacky!! The two that I have been to were both beautiful and tasteful and completely perfect :)

  24. QUESTION:
Does anyone know where you can listen to Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings CD?
I have been to amazon and listened to the samples but i need to listen to the whole thing before i go out and get the cd. any suggestions???? thanks so much

    • ANSWER:
Record stores have listening booths so you can do just that. Check your local FYE or Sam Goody or whatever is local.

      Good luck!

  25. QUESTION:
    Disney Fairytale weddings question.....?
Does anyone have any tips for a wedding at disneyworld. IT would be a intimate wedding about 20 people. I saw their website but they leave a lot out. Any tips or secrets?

    • ANSWER:
I am an event planner in Orlando, Fl and if you are having a wedding at Disney, they take care of everything for you. This could be a good thing or a bad thing. You have to use all of their specific vendors, follow all of their rules..etc and, believe me, you are going to pay a premium price. 20 people is perfect for the packages they have. What kind of tips would you like? There really isn't much to say about it because they handle everything over there and don't really allow you to bring in a lot from the outside. You should call and speak to someone and ask specific questions regarding what you want to know. Not trying to be mean but what you are really paying for is the "princess" fantasy and the Disney name.

  26. QUESTION:

    • ANSWER:
We looked into getting married at disneyland and it was so much money! It was around ,000 +. so thats out of the question for us. I'd rather put money towards our new house with that kind of money or get a new car.

Disney weddings look so beautiful, but its so much money.

  27. QUESTION:
Would disney world's wedding services do a "forever family" adoption ceremony?
I'm in the process of adopting a little girl from the foster care system and I know disney does weddings and I checked out there website. Do you think they would accommodate a small ceremony as a symbolic gesture to her that I will never send her away like she has been accustomed to? Does anyone know the e-mail contact information for the disney wedding services?

    • ANSWER:

  28. QUESTION:
What do you all think of the new Disney "princess inspired" wedding dresses?
I thought they would actually be something different than what is out there now, but it just seems to be a ploy for Disney to squeeze even more money out of the princess movies... Grr. I dont know why it gets to me... the dresses weren't even all that pretty (although I would wear the Belle one, it still is about the same as anything else out there, and I would NEVER pay Disney's exorbinant prices.)
(for those of you who have not seen them, here is a link to an article about them with a popup link for a photo slideshow beneath the actors pretending to get married...yay stupid Disney. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070416/en_nm/disney_weddings_dc)

    • ANSWER:
I agree with you. Saw a couple of pictures of them earlier and there really all not that different. The Belle or Ariel were pretty nice, but then they weren't that different or nicer for the price their asking for from other wedding dresses. : )

http://disneyweddings.disney.go.com/weddings/florida/wishes/ceremony/beach/detail I've been trying to find a review of someone who had their venue here but I cant find anybody! Its a beach by the Grand Floridian resort I'd really love to have my wedding here because I like the fact that not many people have done it before but at the same time, I dont want it to be an unpopular choice because its not good. Love to hear about your disney wedding. Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
Contact the wedding planners at Disney and ask them for references from couples who have had their ceremony there.

When I was in high school I did a project on weddings and the wedding planners were very helpful. It shouldn't be a problem to give you some references.

  33. QUESTION:
Can I just have a Disney wedding reception without the wedding ceremony?
My fiancee and I already have a location for where we want our wedding ceremony to take place; however, Disneyland has always been a part of our lives since the time we first met 8 years ago, and we wanted to have a Disney wedding reception. When I checked online, their weddings come in packages including an on-site ceremony. I was wondering if it was possible for us to just book the reception and do away with the ceremony?

    • ANSWER:
No you can not. You have to have the entire Disney Wedding Package, which also means you must stay at one of the on site Disney resorts for a certain amount of time.

Disney weddings are NOT worth the money. It's a generic wedding, you don't get to use the park, it's set off from the tourists and castles.

  34. QUESTION:
    Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings?
who here has ever been to disneys fairy tale weddings?

  35. QUESTION:
    Bat Mitzvah in Disney?
I want to have my bat mitzvah in Disney World. I've been on the website and the closest I can get is disney weddings. Can someone help me?

    • ANSWER:
You need to contact the Conventions and Banquets team.

This is the closest I can find online:

      http://disneymeetings.disney.go.com/dwm/disneydiff/detail?name=SignatureEventsDetailPage

If the number provided on this site doesn't help, call 407-WDISNEY to speak with a vacation planner at the call center. They can transfer you to the correct department.

  36. QUESTION:
    Disney World Escape Wedding?
I have been to the Disney Weddings website and like the idea of an Escape wedding. I am wondering what decoration is provided with the 00 package. I know you can purchase additional decor, but are there some already included with the package? For example, do you have to pay for chairs, tables, or the alter? They seem pretty basic and I think they would be included, but, it wouldn't surprise me either if you had to pay extra for them.

Also, the site states that you can add on receptions to this package. Does anyone know what these options are?

    • ANSWER:
Just a correction for ilovewed... they do put out chairs if you get married at the gazebo at the Yacht Club gazebo. I used to work there and saw it all the time. I don't know if they had to pay extra for them or if they were included. Your best bet would to just call the number on the site and ask. I am getting married on the Disney Magic cruise ship in October and they have been very helpful. As far as a reception go. I don't think they charge for the tables and chairs in the reception but they do charge for the coverings. Like the table clothes and if you want chair covers. Good luck.

  37. QUESTION:
    Disney wedding... Help me.?
I haven't called yet but I was wondering if disney weddings offered any kinda payment plans... cause Im poor but this is something I really really really want. I think a disney wedding is the only thing I want and my finace agree's and thinks it would be beautiful. but I wanna know if anyone has had experience with a disney wedding or what not. If so ... how did it go?

    • ANSWER:
I have stayed at the Grand Floridian Resort and it is very close to the Wedding Chapel. It is a beautiful setting. I am not sure what the cost is but I do know that they have different plans depending on how large you want it to be. I do not think they would have payment plans but I would talk to someone there and find out what the total cost would be for what you want. I would do a search on disney world weddings or disneyland weddings depending on where you want to be. I would just go from there. I will say this. It is something you will never forget. I just love Disney World and especially the Grand Floridian. I will tell you, though, it will not be cheap. But with the economy down I know Disney is making special offers so now might be the time to ask. Have fun and Good Luck.

  38. QUESTION:
    Jobs at Walt Disney World??
I want to get a job as a wedding consultant with Disney Weddings. Its my dream job, but I have no idea on how to start or what to do? HELP!!

    • ANSWER:
A couple of good answers to help you along your way to a career with Disney. I have heard also living in central Florida is a big help, they are not going to pay for you to relocate and hiring from out of state has some problems. I know they did have a wedding coordinator position listed a couple of weeks ago also.

A few things you want to think about first is do you have experience as a wedding coordinator, and what kind of education do you have. Disney weddings are not cheap, I believe the cheapest is around 00.00 and they go up from there to several hundred thousand. People go to Disney to get married because it is magical and the service is unbeatable. Find out what they want in a person for this position, even if your not qualified start working towards it. Your never to young or to old to start, I started studying for my dream job as an Imagineer at 38.

  39. QUESTION:
Has anyone had a Disney Fairytale wedding at Disneyland in Anaheim?
I am trying to learn more about prior experiences (good and bad) people have had with weddings at Disneyland. I am interested in the in park experience, but would like to hear about hotel weddings also. Thank you!

    • ANSWER:
My husband and I were married at Disneyland in October 2007. Our wedding ceremony was held at the Rose Court Garden at the Disneyland Hotel, with the reception in the Sleeping Beauty Pavilion at the same Hotel. It was beautiful and unforgettable. The prices are only steep unless you are looking to go really extravagant. We live in Arizona and found that we would have paid the same price at a nice hotel locally. Yes, there were the extra costs of travel, but it was all worth it. We had a small guest list, only 45 guests, and had our wedding in the morning. We spent less than , 000 for everything (photo, video, Reverend, flowers, food, etc).

If you want a park wedding, the minimum expenditure that you have to spend is , 000, if I remember correctly. Prices do go up every year, so you would have to check. You also have to wait to do your wedding after park hours and you have to use only Disney for your floral, DJ, and some other things. If you get married at the Hotel, you can use outside floral companies and other vendors (except food and cake).

I could go on and on about this. The best thing I did was join Disneyland brides group and Disneyland Weddings group here on yahoo. You can get info from past brides, like myself, and ones that are planning their weddings. They are both great resources for planning your wedding, or just to get more info, like you are doing now.

Hope I answered your question. :) All the best to you.

  40. QUESTION:
How Many People Would Attend A Disney Destination Wedding?
I'm not engaged. But, I just answered a question about someone having their wedding at Disney World. I provide the Disney Weddings site. I decided, since I went to the trouble of googling it, I might as well read it.

Wow, Disney can throw some pretty great weddings! Not everything seemed too themey or childish. Some stuff looked really nice and elegant.

I also saw that the minimiumns for the low season are only ,000-,000 which is not bad at all.

Now, I'm not engaged. But, I'm just being curious. If I someday decided to have a Disney Destination Wedding, how many guests would come?

Most wedding, are about 150 people. So, let's just use that as the base. How many people who actually accept an invite to a Disney Destination Wedding, granted, they were given about 12-18 months notice?

    • ANSWER:
I guess that would depend on if they can afford to make the trip and the hotel. Usually destination weddings don't have too many guests because of the travel cost. My guess would be maybe 50 at most. Probably less though. Although I heard that you can have your wedding streamed via a web cam so that guests can watch your wedding as its happening on the internet. I would look into that so that guests that can't make it there can still see you get married. I would also consider having an after the fact reception so that you can celebrate with friends and family back in your home town when you get back.

  41. QUESTION:
    disney wedding.....?
Not really a question....but I had inquired about disney weddings(knowing how expeinsive they are), but i was still curious. Today I get an email from them withthis list of lavish things....in park weddings START at 0,000!!!! i practically crapped myself! Rediculous....... lol
the email is super long....I'd post it, but this would be endless. But the person that said that they met with a consultant there is right, too many add ons and not able to customize it how you want.
Get this...if you want characters(mickey minnie) its like 1200 bucks for a half hour!

    • ANSWER:
I live in Florida and have been to 2 Disney weddings.
They were unbelievable! One bride actually hired 2 small people to carry her train throughout the day! The food was unbelievable. Everything was over the top in every detail, the costs exceeded 0,000.

Now, the rest of the story....not even a year later, the first couple divorced. The second couple, are not happy and
struggling every day to keep payments up on the lavish house they purchased. Why not do something on a smaller scale and put that money towards the down payment would be my choice.

  42. QUESTION:
    Disney wedding or orlando wedding?
I want to get married at Disney but it is awfully expensive? Are there any places outside of Disney, but very close by that offer weddings that are Disney themed?

  43. QUESTION:
Do they rent space at the Vatican?
I don't think they do but some one I know says they are renting space there. You know how you can rent space at Disney for weddings and events? That is what I am talking about. I can't imagine the Vatican being in that kind of business. I know they do have hospitality centers for dignitaries that have an audience with the Pope. Who would I contact to find out about this? I already emailed the Vatican but no response.

    • ANSWER:
How could you NOT imagine something like that? Your talkin about a religion that in its begining had a list of all the sins & how many pieces of gold had to be given the priest to obtain,"forgiveness" or have you just never truly studied the history of this "Program" you base your life on? But like i said before, they are good at brainwashing & hiding the truth! At least back then the naked children they used as slaves had no choice!

  44. QUESTION:
What is it with "label" weddings?
Disney, Nascar, John Deer, Tiffany... the list goes on

Do brides really think that advertising for free commercial brands will make their wedding look elegant?

Is wrapping an empty box with Tiffany-like blue paper and a white ribbon as a centerpiece supposedly looks fancy? Really?

What is your take on weddings that use a commercial label as their "theme"?

    • ANSWER:
Once you commercialize it no longer is a family or intimate affair...it becomes kitchy ....it's not even unique.

I am waiting for these themes...

Dr. Pepper or Coca Cola-things go better with Coke.

Preparation H or Milk of Magnesia for the older, mature couple

Bayer Aspirin (the way they blast music, why not...everyone leaaves with a headache)

      Jack Daniel's....the drunks'll love that.

Tampax....interesting decorating for that one. Ditto Midol.

Trojans....do I need to elaborate? For folks who love 'balloons'

      Valvoline for the Car Crowd.

Oscar Meyer Franks- " Oh I wish I had, I mean I wish I was an Oscar Meyer Weiner....."

      Hamburger Helper.

'Lays' potato chips....can't 'eat' just one *rolls eyeballs*.

      K-Y jelly...ahem.

Hey, considering the kind of food often served.....Pepto Bismol....Benefiber....Pepcid AC....Tums...
Alka Seltzer....'Plop plop, fizz, fizz oh what a cute couple dey is....."

Mickey D's so the bride can have it all 'her way'......perfect for the Bridezilla.

WALMART....now who wouldn't LOVE a Walmart themed wedding!

      I'm just waiting.

You can get married in front of Cinderella Castle using Disney Weddings.

It costs a lot. The person above some information from the website. Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings website says "please contact a Wedding Consultant at (321) 939-4610 to inquire about an overall Wedding Minimum Expenditure at the Magic Kingdom location. I've seen some shows about weddings at Walt Disney World, and I'd expect the price to be ,000 at they very least. 46. QUESTION:
Does this Disney song sound suitable for a wedding?
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1lSvvubI6M&feature=related

It is "Endless Night" from the Broadway musical production of "The Lion King", but mentioned in the CD "Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings (Classic Instrumental Love Songs for Your Happily-Ever-After)" (which I got for Christmas).

Don't worry, the YouTube (above) has the lyrics in audio (from the musical's soundtrack). If you have trouble with that or not, then here are the printed lyrics: http://www.lionking.org/lyrics/OBCR/EndlessNight.html
Make that "does it it sound suitable for a wedding [reception]?"

    • ANSWER:
First of all, I love the Broadway's production of The Lion King! I saw it a few months ago in my city when they were touring. The song is awesome but I honestly don't think it's a very good song to play at a wedding. He's singing it about his father and to me, that's out of place at a wedding celebration. Maybe choose something that focuses on you and your fiance. : )

  47. QUESTION:
How do I find local singing auditions?
Like is there a website to search singing auditions for? I don't want to go audition for like disney or anything. I have my whole life ahead of me, I don't want to go big now. I just want to do little stuff like sing for weddings and local churches and stuff. Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
look in the "musicians" section of craigslist.org

Also try doing a google search on "vocal audition" + the name of your town. For example, "vocal audition Chicago". You need to include the town or zip code so you don't get hits on auditions that are being held on the other side of the country. Contact local community theatre groups to find out when they are auditioning. A small part in a musical is a great way to start, and you'll get lots of help preparing for the show. You could also call your local chapter of the American Federation of Musicians (the musicians' union); tell them you are a beginner who is looking for auditions and other ways to get experience.

Finally, don't expect to ace your first audition. Look at this as the beginning of a journey that is supposed to be fun and exciting, and as a way to get input from others on how you can improve. It took me many years of playing before I was the guy who got the job; in fact, for a long period of time, I was always the guy in second place! But I kept trying, and studied with a lot of pro musicians. Eventually I got there, and you will too.

      Good luck and have fun!

  50. QUESTION:
Speaking of cheesy theme weddings... what do you think about this?
    http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/beauty/disney-debuts-movie-princess-inspired-wedding-gowns-2395365/#photoViewer=1

Alfred Angelo is doing a line of "Disney Princess" wedding gowns. Now, I'm one of those answerers who is always on here reminding brides that they are committing to be a wife, not Cinderella. I hate theme weddings (colors and inspirations are ok, just not cheesy birthday party themes and costume parties).

So what do you think about this?

I think the dresses are actually really pretty, but they are catering to a clientele that is probably too immature to get married if all they can dream about is their chance to feel like a Disney movie, on a day where they should be focused on the sanctity of committing their life to another person. It seems like too many Brides don't understand that the day is about two people, not one.
I think that the day you are committing yourself to another person is not a day to dress up and pretend to be someone other than yourself.
yes I saw the dresses, as I said above I do think they are pretty.

    • ANSWER:
It's crap like this that makes crazy little girls (and by little girls, I mean grown women who have the maturity level of a housefly) go out and buy their dress before they've even been dating a guy for 2 weeks.

I'm all about having fun at weddings, but the ceremony is not a time to play dress up. Yes, the reception is a party, but the ceremony is not. It is a very serious thing.

These dresses are probably ridiculously expensive just because of the Disney label, and I can picture 23 year olds across the country throwing hissy fits in the middle of bridal shops until daddy gives the "ok" to foot the astronomical bill.

Disney does not belong in weddings. Ever. Period. You are not a princess, you're a bride! He's not prince charming, he's the guy you love who is inevitably going to leave the toilet seat up every day and drive you crazy.
