Lose The Weight Before Your Big Day

Fall Wedding Ideas

The dog days of summer have passed but Jack Frost isn't nipping at your nose just yet! The days may be getting shorter, but there's still plenty of time to plan a fantastic fall wedding!

Autumn colors are bold, vibrant, warm and inviting making fall time a perfect theme for the beginning of your marriage adventure. By scheduling your wedding at this time of year you'll reap the benefits of off-season planning and no extreme weather.

Here Are 5 Fall Wedding Ideas I Harvested to Help You Plan for Your Special Day:

1. Customize your Fall Wedding with Polaroid Instant Photo Guest Books

Capture every moment of your wedding day with Polaroid instant pictures and hand-written sentiments from your guests! Instant photo guest books, like Adesso's Polaroid Instant Photo guest book, buck the digital trend.

W hen they're combined with notes from all your friends and family, the instant photo guest book becomes a valued keepsake filled with memories that will last forever! Customize your autumn-themed wedding photo guest book by using pens with gold, brown or rust-colored ink, and for added seasonal pizzazz, you can even trim the cover with ribbons in colorful fall shades.

Fall Wedding Idea: Choose a fall-colored instant photo guest book that will accompany your autumn-themed wedding colors!

2. Autumn in New York? Choose Your Fall Wedding Destination

Frank Sinatra and other singers have immortalized the romantic notion of autumn in the Big Apple. And the vivid changing colors of New England always come to mind when thinking about the season.

Many locations hit the spot just right for an autumn wedding: a country inn, an old church, a vineyard, a local park and that's just to name a few! Is there a friend or family member whose big backyard has lots of trees? Remember, it's not the setting itself. It's the spirit you bring to the setting that makes your fall wedding so memorable you'll want to capture it both in pictures and in word.

Fall Wedding Idea: If traveling out of town isn't in your budget, you can transform any venue into a fall fantasy. Look in travel or bridal magazines for fall wedding ideas, and visit your local craft store to find faux flowers, foliage and other items to help with inspiration!

3. Set the Stage for Your Autumn Wedding

Autumn's trademark colors can be incorporated easily into every part of your wedding décor. Instead of bright white, try a gown in raw silk or a subtle cream shade? Bridesmaids and your maid of honor can wear a bouquet of lush fall shades like gold, burgundy, hunter green or chocolate brown. Select complementary ties or vests for the groom, best man and groomsmen.

If the flower girl is going to sprinkle the aisle with rose petals, use dried flowers or autumn leaves instead. Depending on the time of day, you might be able to have the ceremony by candlelight. And don't forge to decorate the reception tables with seasonally-colored linens, mini pumpkins, dried flowers, acorns and colorful gourds.

Fall Wedding Idea: Assign someone you can count on to take pictures of the festive table settings before the reception to include in your instant wedding photo guest book!

4. Plan Your Menu with Autumn Foods In Mind

Many delicious foods conjure up images of crisp autumn days and nights. For starters, greet guests with a glass of warmed, mulled cider spiked with something festive like Tuaca liquer from Tuscany! Nuts and dried fruits can be available for nibbling before and after the ceremony.

For your main course, there are the staples like a Thanksgiving dinner theme. Serve the turkey with all the trimmings or try roast chicken or Cornish hen with cranberry garnish. For more hearty fare, there's prime rib. Or be creative and try a game bird like quail 00004000 or pheasant. And you can even "spice" up the wedding cake by choosing carrot, pumpkin-flavored or spice cake. If it's got to be chocolate, added seasonings will give it an extra flair.

Fall Wedding Idea: In addition to serving a traditional wedding cake, you can also offer your guests dessert treats like apple, pecan or pumpkin pie.

5. Pick Your Autumn Wedding Favors

Send your guests home with some of the "flavor" of your wedding by favoring them with autumn wedding favors such as sachets and potpourri in seasonal scents. If there's a farm stand or local specialty shop in the area, give a jar of homemade jam, preserves or chutney. Scented fall-colored candles are sure to be appreciated and enjoyed.

And since your wedding is all about the future, you can give your guests something to look forward to: flower bulbs that will bloom next spring. When it's time to wrap it all up, package the autumn-themed wedding favors in a fabric bag (muslin, burlap, calico-designed cotton) tied with a raffia bow.

Fall Wedding Idea: How about an autumn wedding favor that's good enough to eat? Thanks to the Internet, it's easy to order unique, custom-made sweets, like jelly beans in fall colors or personalized M&Ms.

  4. QUESTION:
What are some cheap wedding ideas for a fall wedding in Oct. when money is tight?
We live in Ohio and an outside wedding in Oct. isn't an option. What are some cheap things we can do? Money is very tight and would love to have a traditional wedding in a building with a reception with dancing and a DJ. Any ideas? Also how much money do you think it would cost. We were thinking of having like hot dogs, cheeseburgers, chicken, cheese, pickles. ect. And cupcakes instead of cake.

    Thanks for any ideas!

    • ANSWER:
Instead of hot dogs and hamburgers, which is summer picnic food in my mind, why not go with an Italian menu. Italian is relatively inexpensive and people tend to really enjoy it. I would find a good local Italian restaurant and inquire about ordering trays. My family loves Italian and we often order trays of chicken and ziti for family events, instead of cooking. I believe that a tray of chicken serves about 20 people, at my local Italian place. But, I'm closer to New York, so this prices might be a bit inflated and it might be less expensive where you are in Ohio.

Italian goes with the more traditional reception you want to create. I also find that people are more satisfied eating a piece of chicken and some ziti than a hamburger. The cupcakes instead of cake is a good alternative too.

  5. QUESTION:

I'm decorating and I wnat it to be amazing andtake everyones breathe away

    • ANSWER:
I got married in Sept and Navy was my color and we did the reception at our family ranch. We had flowers everywhere, planted and in pots all fall colors, i even used old water cans and did arrangements in there. We have a large gazebo big enough for the Dj and dance floor, there was flowers and ivy wrapped around everything...We even put a lot of white little lights so when it got dark it look beautiful. Doing a reception outside there is a lot you can do. Using the ivy helped, we have a lot on the ranch and i cut pieces weaved it where i could and i did this the day before and it held up fine. Oh and i used tulle, many, many yards of white tulle.
The food we had inside in a very large family room and i hired someone to handle that and we hired wait staff. If your doing the food outside too then you may want to think about putting something up like a large tent or something with a top, sides and back, the front can be open and decorate around that too.

  8. QUESTION:
what are some good fall wedding ideas?
i need idea for all aspects of my wedding! please help!

    • ANSWER:
I am having a fall wedding and here are some of the things we are doing.

      1) My "save the dates" are in cream and espresso brown. The stamps are sunflowers in brown and yellow.

      2) The wedding invitations are cream colored with a dark brown font. The inside of the envelopes are lined with a burgundy paper. We are taking apart the envelopes, using a stamp cut to press out a leave shape and then lining the paper. That way - the leaf shows in burgundy through the envelope. Then we are using the "fall in love" stamps from zazzle.com

      3) For the actual wedding, the bridesmaid dresses are espresso. The flower girl dresses will likely either be champagne or light brown.

      4) Each reception table is going to have a champagne colored table runner on it.

      5) The napkins on each table are going to be tied with brown ribbon.

      6) On the gift table and escort card table we are going to put small fake pumpkins (from Michaels craft store) and put pictures of each of us in brass/copper colored picture frames.

      7) Each guest is going to receive a gift of jam! We are going to personalize the labels with the fall colors.

      8) Then - we are going to use flowers to tie it all together! Centerpieces are going to vary from mason jars or copper pitchers with fall colored flowers in them.

We are really trying to incorporate a rustic fall feel to our reception! I hope these ideas help get your wheels turning!

  9. QUESTION:
fall wedding ideas colors are burnt orange and chocolate centerpieces for reception?

    • ANSWER:
This was our wedding! I'll send you some pictures of what we did!

We used very small flower arrangements in fall colors:

      http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v629/Hasbrown42/Table-1.jpg

      I almost went with these:

      http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v629/Hasbrown42/SunflowerCenterpiece.jpg

Then we spiced up the room with espresso napkins (www.linentablecloth.com) and gold table runners (www.tableclothsfactory.com) :

      Vintage Inspired Wedding Flowers

Nothing is more romantic than flowers. For some of the prettiest wedding flower ideas, take your cue from bygone eras. Read on for tips on the most beautiful vintage inspired wedding flowers.

The Victorian era is one of the best places to turn for inspiration when it comes to flowers. Flowers were so important in Victorian culture that they even had their own secret language. Some of the meanings of flowers may be familiar, such as red roses for romantic love. However, there is literally a special message behind every single type of flower, and even some herbs (rosemary stands for...

Then we used placecards with red, green, and orange leaves to designate the different entree selections of each guest:

My bouquet in fall colors with a gold ribbon around the stems:

      http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v629/Hasbrown42/Bride.jpg

We also did these. Pieces of vellum with our names and monograms printed out on them. Then we used double stick tape to attach them and put a piece of burgundy ribbon around the bottom. You could use orange to work in your colors:

      http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v629/Hasbrown42/VellumCandles.jpg

But you could do something like this with orange roses:

      http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v629/Hasbrown42/4in1vase.jpg

Or you could do these with an orange candle and work in both of your colors:

  12. QUESTION:
Any centerpeice ideas for a fall wedding, bridesmaid dresses are dark purple?
I'm not sure if I want to keep the colors purple throughout church and the reception hall or go with fall colors. I would like to some how connect the dark purple color of the dresses to the fall colors. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Our wedding is in September. I could use opinions on flower arrangments too..keep them purple or add some purple to the fall colors in a boquet

    • ANSWER:
Mums are a traditional fall flower, and they come in yellows and oranges that are complementary (opposite side of the color wheel) from purple. They will warm up your color scheme and really pop against all of the purple you have. And it wouldn't be any problem to add some purple flowers to the bouquets. Irises would be a lovely choice because they're a complex flower and you can get purple varieties that also have yellow on the petals.

I need help with cheap, unique wedding ideas, for a summer/fall wedding.?
We have thought about surprising guests at a party with an "impromptu" wedding, or doing a spontaneous wedding at a renaissance festival.... any other ideas?

    • ANSWER:
Well my sister was short on money when she got married so her and her now husband got married on the beach. it was free and very romantic.

To save money on flowers hold your wedding during the Christmas season or immediately after Easter when a church will already be decorated.

Avoid holding your wedding in February when flower prices are at an annual high due to Valentine's Day

You could also find a venue such as a park or garden that is already lush and beautiful so you dont have to decorate!

  16. QUESTION:
Cool, inexpensive fall wedding favor ideas?
I'm trying to think of something unique and cool for wedding favors. My wedding is in october, so maybe something fall themed. I like the idea of something homemade-ish too.

    • ANSWER:
The very best favors are edible ones. Fall time reminds me of those great melt in your mouth maple candies. They are the shape of a maple leaf and have a light sugar coating on them. They melt in your mouth with an explosion of maple buttery taste. I think these would be perfect for your party favors. You could find a cool box to put the candy in. Try OrientalTradingPost.com for party favor boxes. The boxes look pretty on the tables because they are neat and tidy and can add to the decor.

  17. QUESTION:
    Country Fall Wedding Ideas?
I am getting married on November 6th of this year. We had a short engagement so not enough time to fully plan a BIg wedding. I decided to have a nice traditional wedding ceremony at my church and have a simple, country fall themed reception downstairs. I seriously could use any ideas on reception decor and groomsmen attire.

(Our colors are burnt orange, burgundy red and a "dirty" yellow. We are using mums as the main flower.) THANKS!!

    • ANSWER:
if the church will allow it, bring in a few bails of hay, very inexpensive at lowes or home depot or southern states. put some pumpkins or gourds on them

you can get silk leaves from ben franklin or michaels crafts to scatter about on the tables, or even use real leaves.

little pots of mums make nice centerpieces, you can either stick a long taper candle in the center or put out a few votives in fall holders, also available at ben franklins or michaels.

go to a party city and get fall plates and cups and napkins and use branches off of fall trees or more leaves and gourds to decorate your buffet table. and remember that a little curly kale goes a long way toward making a plain platter of sandwiches look like gourmet fare.

    Unique Fall Wedding Ideas?
Please give me some unique ideas for a fall wedding, add pics if available!

    • ANSWER:

We carved out small pumpkins (baking size) put a candle in them and attached the lid as decoration, and used them as centerpieces

  20. QUESTION:
Fall & Chef Themed Wedding Ideas?
Help I'm getting married in Nov. and i am planning on a fall themed wedding but i need help gathering info! anyone with fall themed invitations, table pieces, cakes, wedding favors, etc,.... my fiance is a Chef, so we are trying to incorporate chef theme as well ( mini whisks, cookie cutters in the shape of maple leaves etc.) any idea will be greatly appreacted. Thanks

    • ANSWER:
My best friend's son got married in the fall and they had small ornaments (burnt orange, brown and burnished gold, tied together with deep green ribbons. These were scattered over the tabletop. In your case I love the idea of adding mini whisks, etc. For the centerpiece I can envision bowls or tirered plates of artfully displayed fruits, nuts, leaves, etc. Or perhaps paper chef hats with tulle added as a wedding veil with the first idea scattered around it. What about the kind of fruit and veggie displays you see at fancy buffets or fruit kabobs? Edible centerpieces instead of flowers!

Why not use the maple leaf cookie cutter idea as napkin rings? For favors your fiance absolutely must have candy, sweets or whatever is his specialty at each place. Another idea might be a small collection of his favorite recipes. What about having a printer (or even doing it yourself on your computer) printing about a dozen recipes featuring pictures of both of you? I'd love receiving something like that and it would be very personal and novel.

I am sure that if you work with a printer they could help you design personal invitations. If you want to do something clever you could word the invitation like a recipe. Example:

Recipe For Wedding of "X" and "Y"

Take one "your name" given by "your parent's name"
Add "your finace's name" given by "his parent's name"
Mix together well on "date" for "time"
To ensure the perfect union of the above ingredients please attend this event and watch carefully until done.

I am sure you can come up with a better way to state things, but you've got the idea.

      Congratulations on your upcoming marriage. Wishing you best of luck for a long life of cooking and eating together. :}

what is some decoration ideas for fall wedding receptions?
im getting married on october 6 this yr and need some decoration ideas and tips for fall weddings. i havent decided what to decorate the tables and everything in....
i would like the decorations to be elegant but yet laid back, my cake colors are burgundy and ivory, so i could play off those and still do a fall themed reception also, do you think?

    • ANSWER:
I saw a wedding last year with brown and orange colors it turned out so nice. you should try ivory and burgundy um I forget what its called its mesh looking stuff they have it a walmart. But get that in your colors and string lights through it and hang it around door ways and across the cellings. That also saves $ on balloons. But still use balloons around the cake table, gift table, the dance floor. as for table decorations leaves are pretty but everyone is using them. Go for Ivory table cloths with glass bowls with floating candles as a center pieces but color your water burgudy. If you are using other colors mix up the colored water. If you still want the leaves go for the little confetti kind and put it aroud the bowls, you can buy it at the party store, if you are doing table favors like nut cups try mints nuts and candy corn mixed together, put them in little cups and glue a flower that matches the ones you will carry. a strip of shiny ribbon down the middle of the table is pretty also and would go good with the floating candles. Its pretty easy to get a nice look and still go casual. I

  26. QUESTION:
    unique fall wedding ideas????
Hi, I'm getting married late September, and a friend of ours has announced that they would like to get married in early September now, a few of the idea's we had for our wedding, they have decided to go with also, and there will be some of the same people at both of our weddings, ANYWAY!! I am looking for some different and unique idea's for our fall themed wedding, we were going to do a slideshow at our wedding, of us as babies, growing up.. and to now, but now that they are doing it too, I just want to be different.. I don't want guests to be bored with two weddings that are similar.. I want some creative, and unique idea's. the theme is fall.. there will be lanterns and leaves on the tables, and the colors are burnt orange and espresso. Any idea's would be great! Thank you :)

    • ANSWER:
      First of all, congrats! ^_^

If you are still planning to do a slideshow, I have a few ideas to make it look unique, in terms of special effects and perhaps different song selections that you may really like.

My friend has done several different wedding slideshows for family and close friends, including mine. To make it unique he added in video loops. Everyone loved and raved how nice it looked! He likes going to http://www.instantimagers.com. They have many loops selections, and ones specially for weddings. It definitely makes the slideshow pop and look really beautiful and romantic.

In terms of songs, if you haven't any song selections for your slideshow and want something atypical from the popular 'romantic' songs that everyone else seem to have chosen, perhaps you'll like "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo Ole for your baby, growing-up pics.
      http://www.www.youtube.com/watch?v=2A2Jt4WOxN8
and "At The Beginning" – Richard Marx & Donna Lewis for the couples pics or "When You Say Nothing At all" - Ronan Keating. Hope you'll like the songs.

  27. QUESTION:
    Fall Wedding Ideas....please help!?
I'm planning an October wedding. My colors are Burgundy and Ivory. I want to make it seem like a fall wedding without throwing too many other colors in there (orange, yellow, brown, etc...) I have already thought of having "drink huggies" that say "Falling in Love October 9, 2010" and I also want to have Caramel Apples next to the exit wrapped up with burgundy ribbon. With the cake, I would like to have leaf shaped mints. The centerpieces will probably end up with a little brown in them just to give a little more color.

    Anymore ideas would be awesome!!!
Jen - my question was not what you thought of my ideas....but rather if you have any MORE ideas. Your opinions of my favors do not matter to me because I happen to like them very much.

What are some fun, and affordable ideas for a fall wedding reception?
I am looking for some ideas for activities to do during our wedding reception in October. I know we will have the dollar dance. But I am searching for unique ideas. Something (other then Karoke) almost all guests young and old can have fun with. I saw this portable photo booth but that is way too expensive. But I want something thats memorable. Please Help!

    • ANSWER:
what about bobbing for apples (maybe your guests could make their own cider and design their own commemorative labels), a bonfire, maybe you could rake a BIG pile of leaves in advance so kids could jump in it (that's kind of messy though), and a hay ride? i don't know where you live, but those are fall-ish things that sound neat for a wedding...

  32. QUESTION:
    fall wedding ideas anyone?
We are getting married in the fall and were wondering if anyone had any unique ideas...it will be in houston.

    • ANSWER:
I'm also getting married this fall and this website helped alot:
      http://www.invitationsbydawn.com/Custom/DawnUS/DD_Seasons.cfm?emailCode=10647&sSource=email&kw=10647&CustSourceCode=10647

They have alot of great fall ideas for that theme.

I'm getting some preserved fall leaves from my florist to decorate the tables and gazebo. They're beautiful and you can get them in different arrays of colors.

My bridesmaid's dresses are in burnt orange and I'm doing orange calla lilies for the bouquets.

We were also able to find some fall invitations, guestbook, cake server, and other items by doing searches online. Another great source would be www.rexcraft.com.

      Check these out for favors:

  33. QUESTION:
    fall wedding ideas?
I'm getting married this october and was wondering if anyone had any ideas I had not thought of. We are having pumpkins and leaves everywhere. We are all going to have "fall" flowers and my girls are wearing dark colored dresses. What else could I do?

    • ANSWER:
You can really play up the woodsy feel.

Name the tables after types of trees, perhaps ones local the the area

Add a few branches to the centerpieces or boquets

Under the water in the flowers consider floating something that deals with autumn like cranberries or putting upopped popcorn in the bottom of the votives.

I saw a awesome cake table once where they got a large atumn wreath that looked kind fo like a nest. A cake plate was put inside and it because an nexpensive part of the cake decor.

Find galvanized tubs. Hollow out the tops of any color apple you want and place tealights inside and have them floating in the tubs, it looks very cute.

Something that looks amazing and might cost like 2 bucks is to make your own napkin rings. Take raffia in whatever color you want. Then glue a few acorns onto those jewelry rings and slide them onto the raffia. For an extra elegant look pop off the acorn nuts to just leave the little "hats' and you can replace with a pretty bead.

  34. QUESTION:
Any ideas about what I should wear to a fall wedding?
I have a wedding next Saturday and I have no idea what to wear. Any suggestions? (I would appriciate links to specific outfits) I've only been to summer weddings so I have no idea what people wear to fall one.

    • ANSWER:
These two excerpts were copied and pasted from WeddingChannel.com. Basically it depends on the formality of the wedding and what time of the day it's held. Hope it helps. Have fun!

**"As for guests, it can be a challenge to determine what to wear. For evening weddings, guests should dress as they would for a nice dinner or event out. Men should wear suits, unless the invitation has requested black tie. Women should choose dresses, skirts, or elegant suits in darker, sophisticated colors and fabrics; lengths vary according to what's in style at that particular time and place. Jewelry can be more elaborate, and women may want to carry a small evening bag rather than a purse.

It is now acceptable for female guests to wear black to weddings, especially in the late afternoon and evening. Black choices, however, should be more ornate than reserved, to give off an air of celebration rather than mourning. Sometimes, adding a little color (vibrant flower pins and scarves work wonderfully for weddings) rounds off the somber look well."

**"You should match your wedding attire accordingly by wearing formal wear at a formal fete and something more casual at a laid back celebration. For example, at a beach wedding, it’s typically acceptable for men to wear linen shirts or other lightweight fabrics along with khaki pants. At a formal wedding, the men would look best in a suit or tuxedo with tie or a bowtie.

For women attending a formal event, they should follow the instructions of the invitation or can always ask a member of the wedding party what would be most appropriate for the occasion. Women can wear anything from a formal ball gown or a cocktail dress to a tea-length sheath for Sunday brunch nuptials."

  35. QUESTION:
    any october/fall/halloween wedding ideas?
I'm getting married in october of this year any ideas on how to incorporate fall/halloween into the wedding. I don't want it to be totaly outrageous or weird but i'd like to incorpoate halloween into it and still be elegant.

    • ANSWER:
You could try doing pumpkins in places, using them as centerpieces with fall colored flowers inside, or have the favors pumpkin themed, so it's not screaming Halloween but it's still apparent.

My brother got married in October, it was fall themed, but not Halloween. They had fall leaves (like maple and stuff) on their invitations, and spread on the tables (instead of flower pedals) and their centerpieces were more leafy as well, Also their RSVP cards were shaped as leaves. They used dark reds, burnt oranges for the most part as their colors. The bridesmaids wore brown. And the boys had brown vets I believe.....(it was 2 years ago, I am trying to remember, lol)

I think little things like that help get the point across without banging down people's doors with it, good luck!

  36. QUESTION:
    Fall Wedding Ideas/Themes!?
I'm planning a wedding for 10/10/2010 and I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas. I've got alot of ideas but I was just trying to see if anyone has anything creative, unique, or interesting!

    Thanks!

  37. QUESTION:
any ideas for a fall wedding with bridesmaid dresses being dark purple?
I'm not sure if I want to keep the colors purple throughout church and the reception hall or go with fall colors. I would like to some how connect the dark purple color of the dresses to the fall colors. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Our wedding is in September. I could use opinions on flower arrangments too..keep them purple or add some purple to the fall colors in a boquet

    • ANSWER:
Other colors you could use would be greens (more olive toned, or hunter--not pastelly) and gold--USE GOLD!!! Copper would be great too, it will be so rich looking. Think of fall leaves as they're changing colors, and use that for your inspiration for your color palette, yellows, reds, oranges, I'd go with deep, almost burnished tones. You could even have the florist use fall leaves in the arrangements, and branches with berries on them.

  38. QUESTION:
    Hunting/fall themed wedding ideas?
My friend is getting married next October and they are going with a fall/hunting themed wedding. The girls will be wearing burnt orange dresses and the guys camo vests under their tuxes. Anyone have any ideas from favors, to decorations, to table centerpieces that would work good for this theme wedding. Keeping in mind that it is a very large wedding, 8 attendents on both sides and about 350 guests! Thanks for any ideas!

    • ANSWER:
Can they not do a hunting theme without camo vests? Instead use those colors as blocks and not a pattern. Seriously....I'm from the south, a hunting family, and we own a farm. My grandpas idea of "dressy" is black overalls and a polo. Even my guest list would find this tacky and hillbilly.

For centerpieces she can get some decoys, cut the top fo the back off and use it for a flower vase.

Favors venison jerky and something to drink but not sure what.

For the tall arrangements get clear vase. Use modgepodge to line with leaves (natural not silk) then arrange some dried long grasses and cattails. Wrap the top with a ribbon.

If he has a one of the cover nets for bird hunts drape it gracefully from the cieling to filter the light.

For linens use solid blocks of color not camo pattern. I would do a light green long cloth with a dark green overlay then a table runner in the burnt orange.

For the cake have the baker make the frosting look like birch wood and the cake topper be a male and female deer.

If you go to the craft store in the scrapbooking asile you can get bark pattern scrapbooking paper. On the reverse side paste the program then roll up like a scroll. Tie with raffia and put their names and the wedding date on a leaf shaped tag in one of the colors and tie it on. It will look like a basket of sticks.

  39. QUESTION:
    outside fall wedding ideas?
I am getting married this October in my friends backyard. I was wondering if there are any ideas as to how to decorate to make it look festive yet elegant. my colors are burgandy and pink.

    • ANSWER:
Have a Trellis, that can be rented from a rental place, wrapped in wide grosse grain ribbon, alternating your colors, and add another fall color to it for pop, like burnt orange, orange red. At the top of the trellis, intervweave the ribbons running them from pole to pole, diagonally, making a mock canopy with the ribbons, Have your florist make some dangly flowers to hang from the top of each pole in your colors. This makes a beautiful aisle to walk down. We have a great wholesale shop in our area, I don't know if they ship, but thier ribbon selection rocks. There may be one where u live, do some reasearch. Best Of Luck, Autumn weddings are so romantic.

  41. QUESTION:
Does anyone have any good ideas for a fall wedding?
I'm getting married in November. I want it to be warm and inviting and simple. Candles, mums, leaves, anything that has to do with fall, I want that. I can't find any good websites that would have good ideas for reception decorating.

    • ANSWER:
I am getting married in Nov tooo!! Nov 3
We are just doing leaves and candles. Nothing major...
My colors are pink and brown and we are accenting that with the orange. We can't do much decorating cause have the building is glass windows and we are not allowed to hang anything up or use tape!! LOL
Just keep it simples. We are skipping place cards and just printing out a seating chart- I bought two very nice lenox frames to frame them in. And a matching lenox sign in book. That will go in the front and we'll sprinkle some leaves there.
We are going to have pink table cloths and candle center pieces- sprinkle some more leaves there. My favor is perfect pair candles- 2 little pears in a bag. Fire place will have a fire going.....
And since they have glass windows on the whole side- it looks out on a lake and hopefully the trees will be changing color!!

      Less is more!

  42. QUESTION:
Does anyone have ideas on fall wedding centerpieces that do not focus on flowers?
I read a blog about someone using a floating candle bowl with goldfish under the candles. Has anyone seen this or have pics?

    • ANSWER:
It's an excellent idea. Elegant and cheap. Get some rocks/marbles that go with the colors of your wedding to go at the bottom of the bowl and one or two goldfish in each bowl and a few floaty candles and viola, BEAUTIFUL centerpiece. Your local pet supply store should have goldfish for pretty cheap (10-15 cents each) and a lot of places garantee to last at least 2 days, so I'd have a friend get them and set them up during the break from ceremony to reception (you are usually taking pictures and greeting people for a LONG time anyway, so a few friends can get this done)

Micheal's has excellent glass bowls for extremely cheap.

Then have your DJ "give" the bowls away in a fun way. Like the person whose birthday is closest to the wedding date gets to take them home, or whoever has a number under their place, etc. That way you can get rid of the fish and dont have to worry about them at the end of the reception.

  43. QUESTION:
Can anyone give me ideas on a fall wedding?
My fiance and I decided on a fall wedding because of the beautiful foilage we can take advantage of since our ceremony is outside. However, I am not a huge fan of the oranges and reds as a theme for my indoor reception. And I certainly don't want a bunch of pumpkins and cornucopias! Does this even matter??? Does anyone have any ideas for me? I don't want my reception to look completely out of place with the season.
Yeah we are definitely having in the fall. I need RECEPTION ideas.

    • ANSWER:
There are so many fall colors, you can downplay any ones you don't like as much, and play up the ones you like. You don't have to have cornucopias, or pumpkins and squash. But, you might want to look at Martha Stewart's website, and find the decorated pumpkins she has, some of them are gorgeous. some are green or white, some have tiny holes cut into them in a pattern, and none of them bear any resemblance to a jack-o -lantern. You would have to ask the reception site vendor to see if something like that is allowed. Even cutting open a gourd or a pumpkin, and using that as a vase for your flowers is very pretty. Again, pumpkins come in many colors, even our local pumpkin patch had the white ones this year.
Try candles in your fall colors, some are decorated with patterns, I have one with leaves on it that I think is gorgeous. Try fall leaves around the centerpiece, try just fall flowers. And there are so many shades of orange, you might find one you like. The golds, the redgolds, the burgundys, the reds, the purples, look at zinnia and fall chrysanthumum colors for ideas.

    Awesome Fall Wedding Ideas?
Just any kewl idea to do at the wedding. Like decorations, flowers types, or any other type of wedding idea. Just anything that would be amazing! Please and thank you!

    • ANSWER:
I'm getting married in the fall and these are some of the things we are doing.

Pie instead of cake, fall flavors-apple, pumpkin, and pecan--we are actually having a pie station with whipped cream, toppings, and ice cream.

The flower girl will through leaves instead of flowers.

Mums and orange tiger lily for flowers.

      colors: brown, ivory, orange red,

theme: based on the book "The Giving Tree" and anything tree related

Each guest will get a muslin sack full of flower bulbs to plant when they get home.

      Wood Centerpieces:http://www.designspongeonline.com/2008/01/wooden-centerpiece-diy-project.html

Some ideas we aren't doing but I considered:
Warm Apple Cider for Guests after dinner.

Silk leaves or river rocks for guests to sign with paint marker as alternative to guest book.

Pumpkins cut out with tea lights inside.

Small pumpkins with placecards tie to stem, you could do this with apples too.

  46. QUESTION:
What are some ideas for a Fall based wedding?
I am not getting married till Mid-October 2009, but am curious about a fall themed wedding as it holds significance to my fiance and me. I have thought about still fresh leaves as decorations and used intead of petals by the flower girls, and also the colors brown and pale yellow, or some variation. Looking for decorating ideas more than anything, as that is all I will be able to do in advance for the wedding. Please help :)

    • ANSWER:
First off you do want to have some consideration for whomever is cleaning up and fresh leaves will be crumbled into the carpet. If you don't care then proceed if you want to be considerate then you may want to use some artificial ones.

One thing i always recommend is to buy things that DO NOT have wedding in their title and they will be a lot cheaper. You can get a lot of those fallish items now and this time next year, right after Halloween and then again right after Thanksgiving when they are on sale. The Horn of Plenty decorated with gold and deep red ribbons. Also you could get some of the artificial leaves scatter them on the table with candle centerpieces with those gold and deep red ribbons resembling them.

  47. QUESTION:

    • ANSWER:
The Knot has some cute Halloween ideas and tons of pictures of bouquets etc. They also have message boards for Fall & Halloween themed weddings. They've even featured a couple Halloween weddings.

  50. QUESTION:
Does anyone have any ideas for Cinderella, Fairytale, Butterfly, and Fall Wedding Ideas?
We love the color of Navy Blue, which is a color of Royalty. Looking for many ideas to help us. We still are going with the Cinderella theme and adding butterflies, maybe in a Fall setting. Still need to decided on what season in 2012.
We are not going to have all these themes together. We are only doing Cinderella and adding butterflies in the day. Just looking for other ideas as well. I do not want a ballgown, but will have a gown with lots of sparkle, any ideas on to which type of gown? We will probably get married in Spring or summer.

    • ANSWER:
If you like the idea of the princess them but you like the navy blue, what about Princess Jasmine, and use all royal colors like navy blue, emrald green, deep purple. It would be beautiful in the summer or winter, but fall would work also. But have a cinderella gown. you could make it feel like a palace.
