      As wedding entertainer, I would go with something special to them both. Did they have a special song that they both love? Did they have a first dance song at their wedding? The best song to share with them is going to be the one that brings a tear to both of their eyes. Do some investigation. Find out if they shared that first dance as husband and wife, and what song it was. Find out if they share a song that has some special meaning to them both, personally. The songs that "Halo Mom" wrote about are great!       Slow love songs should not be overplayed at a wedding, you are right about this. Most people will be there to party, so the music should reflect this. Slow songs should be played once every few songs to give people a rest from more upbeat dancing. Also, music should be from many genres and many decades as to please every guest at the wedding. Make sure any songs you choose to have played are the edited versions of the songs, so as not to offend anybody. The best way to know if music is appropriate is to ask yourself 2 questions:
      Will my grandmother be OK with this song?
      Will this song be OK for the flower girl to sing at school or at home?

      I checked ALOT of dj lists. I also put up a couple of posts on facebook asking people for their dancing requests (we're doing an ipod reception) I'd also check in with some of your older guests in person for their favorites. My grandma isn't able to get up and dance, so we're playing some George Strait (her crush) during the dinner. The best thing is really to just ask a couple of people from every age group and go from there. Make sure you pick mostly well known songs, but you can throw in some of the lesser knowns too.
