     You can use greenery to break up the white a bit if you want as well.

     Love your flower choices, mine are almost the same for my wedding! I'm using purple, but I found that the differences in colour tones and texture between the different flowers is enough to keep it interesting, so you could do all white/ivory and your flowers would still look interesting and elegant.

   What do you think of a red wedding dress?

     whilst i wore white at my wedding (some 40+ years ago) it was more because colour was not really an option except for say a widow or divorcee who then usually had pale pastel colours. white is supposed to denote a virgin which in this day and age is a real laugh. mind you there are some who would be entitled to it but my guess is they would be few and far between.

     why do what everyone else does - dare to be different. personally i would go for purple which is my favourite colour.

     as far as i am concerned i think any colour is ok. in india red is the colour for brides.

     red offset with white flowers would be rather stunning.

      Yes it's true. European brides wear lots of color. They think we Americans are a litte crazy to be so white happy. White really isn't the color that looks the best. It's just tradition. You can wear whatever color you want. Why don't you call a bridal consultant? They know everything about bridalwear.

      Well, in Pakistani weddings, the MAIN AND MOST PICKED COLOR for wedding dresses in RED!!! Like a nice maroon red. Not really the religion, just the culture. I am assuming you are talking about an American wedding. By all means, if u want to wear a red dress, wear a red dress. I really think there would be no problem. It would actually look really pretty, because white is sooo boring even though it symbolizes purity.

I do not why you do not like the white or red shoes which can match the wedding dresses well, while if you want to be special, you can choose the light orange or light pink to lose the dark red wedding dresses.     What season is appropriate to wear a red wedding dress?
    My friend is getting married and wants to wear a red wedding dress. Since I had a Christmas wedding, I had also had a red wedding dress. But her plan was to get married in March. I think it's great either way, but I was just wondering if it there was a rule as to what colors to wear for what season or if those rules even matter anymore?

      It really doesn't matter. The only time I could see it clashing is if you had an outdoor wedding in the fall. Don't let her spend too much time worrying about what is or isn't acceptable for her wedding. In this day and age people are changing everything they can about weddings, so what colors go with what season and what color your wedding dress is doesn't matter. As long as the wedding is a reflection of her and her husband and she doesn't look back thinking "if only I did that"

22. QUESTION:
    What headpiece to go with a red wedding dress?
    I will be wearing a red wedding dress, I dont have a picture but its a red satin A-line with a corset top and beading on the neckline and waistline.
    I dont know what to use for a headpiece! I want to wear my hair in a curled updo and dont want a tiara, does anyone have any links to a side comb that would go well with red?

      I am wearing a purple gown for my wedding (our colors are red and purple) and have tiny red and purple rhinestone butterflies that clip into the hair. I am using them to pull back the front part of my hair and also on my 7 year old daughter.

      For a classy look, try a single rose (either fresh or silk). For something a little more daring, use a silk rose with feathers. With a red wedding gown, subtle isn't even an option so look at websites or magazines that have different headpiece options to find something you love and then make or have it made in red. Above all else, enjoy!

YOU are getting married and it is YOUR special day! it dosen't matter what they think because they have their own special day! you shouldn't have to ask permission for anything when it's your wedding. if you want to go in bubble wrap you should do it! if you like red wear it! do what you want, this whole wedding revolves around YOU and your man!

      I'd go with a coral red b/c that looks better on most skin tones. I know yellow can look terrible on people. Though a really soft buttery yellow or sunshine yellow might be nice, I always think of more a canary yellow which looks terrible on us fair skinned Irish girls.

      The most beautiful one I've ever seen was a coral chiffon dress. High empire waist, halter style. Chiffon billowing down to about a tea length. It was gorgeous and I nearly used it for my bridesmaids (except it didn't have a generous enough bust for my bridesmaids). I think it was a Jessica McClintock but I didn't see a similar one on her site anymore.

      I think somewhere around tea length, just below knee or midcalf is the best for a beach wedding. I love the billowy flowing grace that chiffon gives on the beach.

      The easiest is to go into a bridal shop and flip through their giant book of bridesmaid dresses. Then you can see various designers and they usually have them sorted by price as well.

28. QUESTION:
    would Burgundy brides maid dresses clash with red and white?
    I am getting married in the fall and I am wearing a red wedding dress and the tuxedos are white with red vests would Burgundy or Wine bridesmaid dresses clash?

      not at all. think of all the christmas decorations you have seen with burgandy and red and white flowers. infact burgandy and red are from the same color family and so compliment each other.

      but the problem here is that you are supposed to be dressing your groomsmen to match with the brides maids, not to match with you. your groom can wear colors to match you, but you need to put those groomsmen and brides maids in outfits that match or it will look like too much is going on.

      for instance, if the bridesmaids wear burgandy dresses with white sashes or carry white flowers and wear white shoes, then you should have your groomsmen wear the white tuxes with burgandy, not red, vests.

      your groom can still do the red vest since you are wearing a red dress. the best looking weddings are the ones where the bride and groom stand out a little from the rest of the wedding party anyway.

      you also might want to think about using off white rather than brite white. you know what they say about white after september.

    Wedding colors where bride will be wearing red?
    I am in the beginning stages of planning a wedding, but having trouble picking a color scheme. The only thing I know for sure is that do to my fiance family background we have chosen that I will wear a deep red wedding dress. We are thinking of early spring (April, May) or fall (Oct, Nov) for the wedding. I only what my dress to be red not the whole wedding. Any ideals of what color scheme I can use?

      Well, it is true that the simplest and easy answer is black and white (or just black or white) for the attendants. I had a coloured gown and this is what I did. It does look really nice.

      However, if that doesn't sound like something you'd like, I'd highly recommend that you go to a local fabric store and pick up some colour swatches (paint colour cards from the hardware store will do in a pinch).

      You want to find a shade that complements and suits your dress colour. What is the overall theme and season of the wedding? This may also help determine which colours to use. Do you want a subtle subdued look or a bright bold "look at me" wedding party?

      Again, I highly suggest using fabric swatches alongside the fabric from your dress. Visualizing the colours against it each should help a few to "jump out" at you. If you still can't decide based on simply what looks best, narrow it down based on the look you are going for (or perhaps your season or theme), and go from there.

    What color veil should I wear with a red wedding dress?
    My wedding dress is going to be a dark red color, and I am not sure whether it would be too much to have a red veil, or if it would be better to either have an all-white veil or a white veil with red trim or something like that. What do you think?
    Yep, the dress is all red. If I have accent colors, it will just be some tiny white beads, but it may end up being all red.

    By modern standards, is it really that bad for a bride to wear a red wedding dress?
    My fiance and are are discussing wedding plans and she really wants to wear a red dress (not bright red, but a darker wine red). It is my opinion that this might not be the best thing, even though we throw a lot of tradition out the door when it comes to weddings; we're just different, but to me, a red dress is where I draw the line.

    Does anyone think this might not be a problem these days?

      Red wedding dresses have been common in European weddings over the past decade, and are starting to be seen in American weddings as well.

      If you feel uncomfortable with your wife-to-be wearing an entirely red wedding gown, and you are both willing to compromise, there are also more traditional white gowns with red sashes and other accents available.

      I would also advise you to keep in mind that the gown is very important to many brides, who tend to spend a great deal of time looking for "the one" that makes them feel amazing. Perhaps for your future wife, a red wedding gown is "the one" for her. Also, it is uncommon for the groom to have a say in what type of gown his bride should wear, though perhaps this tradition is not one that you and your fiancee subscribe to.

      You could have them be black with red or white sashes. Or if you are sticking to the Chocolate brown, don't do purple as that will clash big time with your dress. Have their dresses chocolate brown with Red or white sashes or some sort of color added to them.

      I agree that you should reconsider wearing red for your wedding. Of course I don't know your personal style. It's just such a shocking color for a wedding. I would wear consider wearing a more traditional color and changing into the red dress for the reception. Or wear the red dress for your rehearsal dinner or day-after brunch.

      My wedding was fall & outdoors (Oct 1) and I was also considered about my dress being too formal. I had a beachside wedding and ended up w/a dress that had a 2 foot train. The beach is romantic and so are gardens. I think you can most certainly wear a formal dress. You're not limited to tea length at all. The key is the material. Lacy and frilly could be bad. You don't want the dress fighting for attention against w/the natural beauty of the garden.

      If you go with red, I suggest that you consider pink for the bridesmaids. There are various shades of pink -- those that are more pastel and cool to those that have more of an orange base and are more rich. Pink & red don't create a fall color combo, but it calls to the mind love and Valentines Day. You can then carry pink flowers and they can carry red ones. That might be really cute.

      I think an ivory wedding dress for you and the bridesmaids in red would look good. Gold can make people look a bit washed out sometimes so I think red would be your best bet.

      i found one on flickr you could have a look at the girl on there dais it only took her a few hours to make - u could go to the dress material shop and look at basic patterns - i dont think it would be that hard

      First hint, visit theknot.com (they are awesome). I like the idea of having red velvet cake. Wear red high heels or if you really want to make a statement a red dress. And unless you just absolutely love them don't do red roses, its so expected. You could have a "red carpet" for your aisle runner. Just don't go over board, you don't want everything to blend in.     What color flowers would compliment red bridemaids dresses for a June wedding?
    I would like to have my three bridesmaids wear red and carry colorful bouquets of pink, yellow, and orange with some gerber daisies in the mix. How would that look? What color should I use in my bouquet?
    Would lavender dresses look better? That is my second choice. If I stuck with the red, what would look good?

    • ANSWER:
      What color of red are you using? It all depends on the shades of each color you're planning on using. What I'd do, is take a sample of the fabric on the bridesmaids dresses (you can order from where you purchased the dresses, if you bought them from a bridal store) when you flower shop. If you can't get a fabric swatch of the dress, then get paint chips from your local paint store (or WalMart's paint section) and find the shade of red that's closest to what the BA's will be wearing. You can do the pink, yellow and orange with red dresses, assuming you use very clean shades of each. I'd probably throw some white/ivory roses or carnations in the mix just to break it up, and help the vivid colors stand out a little more, but that's entirely up to you. Playing with colors is fun!

      You can use the same color mix in your bouquet as well, or use just red and white. It's really an individual thing. Don't be afraid to play with colors here!

    Would it be good to wear a Red wedding dress in november?

      It's up to you, it's your wedding so you should have the dress you want, it is a winter wedding so it wouldn't look out of place, you could have a white fur (fake obviously) wrap over it to keep you warm when you are having your photos done.

      Make sure you have your ceremony early enough (as soon as will allow for bridal party to have hair, makeup and dress done and transport to the church) because you will need enough day light hours for any outdoor photos

    What would a good wedding boquet be to go with red dresses??
    I would like to have a bouquet of red flowers. My bridesmaid dresses are apple red. I am trying to find a good combination of flowers that won't clash too much with the dresses. Any suggestions??

    • ANSWER:
      I would suggest using red charolette roses. mixed with other colors like greens, purples, yellow, etc. The red charolette roses are a pretty deep red that seems to blend well with lots of other reds, plus if you mix other colors in with it, it will very easily detract form any slight color differences.

      I worked at a florist for 2 years and your color is very popular and this is a nice alternave to having yet another cliche red and white wedding. for the other flowers I would suggest lime green buttons, yellow mini gerberas or calla lillies and purple status (its a filler)

      it would also be really pretty to do just red and purple, or red, purple and lime green (which we used in lots of arrangements) , or red, purple, and yellow (we actually did this color combo for a wedding it was GEORGEOUS!).

      the variety of color would make it work for almost any time of year. It would be very vibrant and eye catching and like I said, a nice change of pace from a predictable red and white wedding-which are a dime a dozen! hope this helps! good luck and congrats!
