(SPOT.ph) Muslim action star Robin Padilla said he is considering writing to the Vatican to push for a Catholic wedding with wife Mariel Rodriguez, reports PEP.ph.
The news comes after former Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Oscar Cruz said the Church will not allow the couple to wed in Catholic rites because some provisions of Padilla's religion contradict with those of the Catholic Church, namely the provision that allows Muslim men to be married to more than one woman at a time.

Padilla told Paparazzi in an episode which aired Sunday, "Kasi kung ang pagbabasehan natin ay 'yong mga naririnig lang natin at 'yong mga papeles na nanggagaling sa ating mga mahal na obispo, mas maganda na 'yong manggaling direkta dun." ("If we are to refer to what we hear and the documents from our beloved bishops. It would be better to get word directly from the Vatican.")
Padilla and Rodriguez got married in a mosque near the Taj Mahal in India last year.
