I'm a photographer and my fiance' loves photography also. I think it's a cake that will express who we are and since we're having a private ceremony the day before, we'll be able to show off the wedding pictures at the big reception which will be the next day. I have a photo printer but I was wondering, shouldn't the photos be in a plastic covering of some sort?, I wouldn't want photos attached to my cake like that because of the ink.

Has anyone ever done this before? what do you think of the idea?
Okay, to clarify, the photos will be taken off before anyone eats it! It will be an hour into the reception before we do the cake cut and toast, so meanwhile, people can just look at the wedding photos as that pass by.

  I would suggest your best idea is probably not to put the rhinestones ON the cake itself, but have wired decoration that has rhinestones on it.

I'm looking for some wedding cake pictures for inspiration. BUT my fiance and I have both decided we DO NOT WANT FONDANT! My wedding is at the end of November, and while it's not a full-on Christmas theme, we did pick the date because my fiance and I both LOVE Christmas/winter time.

Out colours are silver, gold and dark cranberry (so it's kind of Christmasy) but all the other details are more art-deco inspired versus Christmasy

My wedding cake has fondant pictures on it, they're pealing off How do i reattach them/keep it from happening?

This isn't a recent cake. Our cake was three layers the top two were just fondant with pictures and the bottom was cake, we have the rest of it and i was hoping to keep it for quite a long time. There really isn't a way to keep it chilled.

ANSWER:
Order some tylose, mix a small amount with water, and paint the backs of the fondant pieces with it, then press them very gently onto the cake and hold them in place until the glue sets (which is pretty quick usually). If you're worried about it getting too wet, mix the tylose with vodka or everclear and use that for glue. You can get tylose from a cake decorating supply website, like jester's.

Do you know this woman's work really well? I ask because most bakers would not "do a cake any way you want for 0." Some cakes are require much more work and expense to make than others, not to mention some are much harder to transport and set up.

So if she charges you 0 flat you might be getting a great bargain (this is rare) or you might be getting overcharged, or you might not be 100% happy with the work. It's a bit odd.

as for flowers--I am not a big flower person. I don't know that much about them and I don't have any personal attachment. I did that last and took him pictures of my cake, my bridesmaid dresses, the colors that I was using for the buffet tables, napkins, etc. Then I got some ideas from him as far as what to do and the idea he came up with for my alter arrangment I could NOT have specified. I needed his expertise to come up with something that gorgeous! and flowers really depends on your budget. If you find a picture of something, those flowers might be out of a million dollar wedding and have been carefully flown in from Timbuktu.

But I'd go to those sites and go to yahoo, click on images and just type in wedding cake or wedding bouquet. Hundreds of pictures come up and they will give you some ideas.

i'm thinking the first cake would be all frosting making those folds and i don't particularly care for the look of it.
i do like the second cake and can see how you could incorporate the bride and groom from the third cake with the second cake quite easily and have it look very cute, very unique! just ensure the bride and groom have the same color hair as you and your man, use your wedding colors in the bride's ribbon adn the groom's tie and try and get the bride's boquet with the same flower as your bouquet. that way the cake would definitely be 'your' cake! no one else would ever have one exactly like it.
