     Do you know this woman's work really well? I ask because most bakers would not "do a cake any way you want for 0." Some cakes are require much more work and expense to make than others, not to mention some are much harder to transport and set up.

     So if she charges you 0 flat you might be getting a great bargain (this is rare) or you might be getting overcharged, or you might not be 100% happy with the work. It's a bit odd.

     Unfortunatley, when you visit a wedding website they will have pictures of EVERYTHING. I do suggest checking out Martha Stewart Weddings as her site seems to cater to simple designs. Weddingchannel.com has a HUGE gallery of cakes with a lot of simple designs mixed in. Beware...it will take some leg work and a few minutes of clicking through slideshows but in the end its worth it if you find what you are looking for. Good Luck!

    I am looking for money saving ideas for weddings! Also I am looking for pictures of star shaped wedding cakes!

      I would have twinkling light canopies,falling star ribbons and dancing star centerpieces. As for the cake, I would have a star shape cake with little starlets for the guests. For flowers I would use Stargazers and Baby's Breath.

      While I have no ideas as to the cake, it might be fun to have a cake knife and "pie server" that have rulers as the handle. I'm sure someplace could be found that could successfully attach a wooden ruler in place of a wooden handle.

    I'm a photographer and my fiance' loves photography also. I think it's a cake that will express who we are and since we're having a private ceremony the day before, we'll be able to show off the wedding pictures at the big reception which will be the next day. I have a photo printer but I was wondering, shouldn't the photos be in a plastic covering of some sort?, I wouldn't want photos attached to my cake like that because of the ink.

    Has anyone ever done this before? what do you think of the idea?
    Okay, to clarify, the photos will be taken off before anyone eats it! It will be an hour into the reception before we do the cake cut and toast, so meanwhile, people can just look at the wedding photos as that pass by.

    Photo trasfering on the cake, that's what it is! Not sure how much it will cost though. I'll have to find out.

      I would suggest your best idea is probably not to put the rhinestones ON the cake itself, but have wired decoration that has rhinestones on it.

    My wedding is at the end of November, and while it's not a full-on Christmas theme, we did pick the date because my fiance and I both LOVE Christmas/winter time.

    Out colours are silver, gold and dark cranberry (so it's kind of Christmasy) but all the other details are more art-deco inspired versus Christmasy
