     I don't live in QLDS but friends of ours hired their cars from a car hire place and didn't say it was for a wedding because otherwise they double the price when you mention wedding, and they just put the ribbon on themselves, and asked a couple of close friend and family to drive. I hope that can help a bit.

   How long before my wedding day should i have my florist and wedding cars booked?
   how far in advance should i be booking the florist, hairdresser, wedding cake and wedding transport?

   • ANSWER:
     At least 6 months or as soon as possible. I know some people who put together shotgun weddings and got all the stuff line up in less than two weeks and others who planned for two years.

5. QUESTION:
   How much for taking pictures with vintage cars for our wedding?
   Our wedding is vintage 1940s/50s inspired and I have found some people off craigslist that are willing to let us take pictures with their vintage cars. We are not driving them, just by them or in them. Does anyone have suggestions for how much we should pay them? I have no clue whatsoever!

     most places like parks or museums charge between 50 and 100 dollars per hour for photo shoot like that, so you could use that as your guide.

6. QUESTION:
   Modern Wedding cars in the North West?
   I need a little help. I am getting married next year and we are looking for a good place to hire a limosine from. It can either be a town car, a Chrysler 300c or a Cadi. However many of the places that we've called have either been call centres or the prices of the car has been astronomical (well over £500!). Can anyone help? We live in Chester. 11. QUESTION:
    Is there any place where you can get matchbox cars as wedding favors with names/date of wedding?
    My fiance works in NASCAR and we'd really like to add that personal touch to the wedding favors but I can't find any location online!

      I would buy a bunch of plain ones and take them to someone to have what you want painted on them. And what a fun idea! Only problem is that you wouldn't be able to hold my boyfriends attention for two seconds after he gets this favor...I still have trouble getting him to put his matchbox cars away when we have to go somewhere!

12. QUESTION:
    How many wedding cars?
    I am on a tight budget for my wedding. So I was thinking rather than the 'traditional' 2/3 cars. I was thinking about just hiring one for me and my dad to get to the church, and then use the same one for me and my then husband to travel to the reception. My parents have a large people carrier and my mum will take the bridesmaids in that (I have 5). But.....my groom's mother said to him that he can not just have one car! She asked "how is he going to get to the church?" But if I'm not mistaken the groom does not have a car!!!! If I did have two, the second would be for the bridesmaids anyway, not for him!!! HELP ! ! ! ! My fiance agrees with me, am I doing the right thing just ordering one? I am saving hundreds!!! X

      You can do whatever YOU want! My dad recently got remarried and they only had one limo. The bride and bridesmaids went in. and the groom and groomsmen all took one car. (I believe my brother drove) Don't let any one influence your wedding it's your day! Congratulations!!

    Wedding planners?

    My advertising group and I are doing our term project for a wedding photographer. We think that some of the advertising will probably be aimed at wedding planners. So how do wedding planners work. Do they already have all the services or do they have contact with a bunch of caterers, photographers, florists etc. and show them to their clients? If the second option is the more right, how do they know about all these businesses? and how do these businesses usually advertise to wedding planners?No one in my group has ever gotten married and none of our close friends...

      if you get the car before hand, take it down to where you buy the ribbon and let them do it for you. If you're hiring the cars from a place that specialize in weddings then maybe they would do it for you.

      also, its always better to buy more than you need then running out half way through. so if you want just buy a roll of it and see what you can do.

      The comment made by "Karle" is based on opinion, not fact. You should go to a lender with a business proposal and see what they say. There are places that lease or rent classic cars for events and film use. Good luck.

      When people say 'I'm not being racist' they usually are. Othwerwise you would have mentioned people going to a wedding - you didn't have to mention that they were Asian. People going to a wedding are parking on the street so why mention that they are Asian?

    I'm getting married in Dec and looking for a reasonably priced wedding car, anyone able to give me any ideas on service they' ve had that has been gd and at a gd price?? Ideally would like a modern car but will look at vintage too! Oh and getting married in Windsor. Many thanks in advance.

      If you need cheap how about free?

      Scan around the cars of your relatives and work something out.

      You just need one that is in good condition and white, silver or black. Stick a ribbon on it and you're good to go.

      You could get the owner to drive you or pay for insurance for a couple of hours and get someone else to drive you.

      I'm having my father-in-laws car with my dad driving me and my bridesmiad to the venue so we all arrive at the same time.

      Saved me £450 that was better spent elsewhere.

    What is the best Wedding Car to buy? as i want to start a Chauffeuring business?
    I have around £5000 to spend on a car for a Wedding Chauffuring business. I dont know what are popular in this type of business but i was looking at more modern cars, than older ones.

      The type of car is not important. What is important is that your car is very clean; you always show up on time; you drive carefully; and you treat your customers like royalty.
      The stretch limousine that you really need cots £50,000 used. Buy that with your profits later. DOn't get in debt too soon. Jaguar is fine..

      The earlier the better really - as others have pointed out, there's a risk that you won't be able to get what you want if you don't - or at least that you'll need to book from a firm further afield (upping the cost!)

    In El Salvador, at a wedding, do the ushers still bring the bride to the church in seven white cars?
    I read that in El Salvador, the wedding service traditionally starts before the bride arrives. Meanwhile seven ushers in seven white cars drive to pick up the bride from her home, together with her family. When she finally arrives the congregation breaks into the 'nuptial song'. Does this still happen? Did it ever? And what would be an example of a nuptial song?

      There is a traditional piece of music played called "Here comes the bride" every time the bride comes into the Church but that's not solely from El Salvador. Sorry but I laughed when I read about he 7 white cars and the 7 ushers.....I guess the person who told you that witnessed ONE wedding like that but no, it's not a tradition from El Salvador.

26. QUESTION:
    Should I open the car doors for the kids and bridemaids at a wedding?
    I am attending a wedding and have been asked by the groom to drive his car behind the two wedding cars as not everyone in the wedding party will fit into the two wedding cars.

    The trip to the church will involve taking the groom's brother and sister.

    The trip to photos at the beach will involve taking the 3 bridesmaids who I wil then take to the reception.

    My question is:

    Should I open the car door for the kids and the bridesmaids, or just the bridesmaids or neither?

    I'm thinking I should do it for everyone as a courtesy but as a wedding guest myself who is not being paid to do it, I wasn't sure of the correct etiquette as I am not a limo driver.

    I want to hire 3 luxury cars for my wedding in Adelaide, but I don't know where to start.?
    Lexus or Audi cars are my preference, but I can't seem to find any business in Adelaide that can cater to these needs. I am now stuck and don't know what to do. What is the best way to go about this?

      Limousine companies generally hold alot of smaller luxury town cars, I don't know if you can hire them yourself or you hire them with a driver or what the actual deal is but I know they do cater for it.

      Other than that, I believe standard hire places (europcar etc) have Audi's but not Lexus as far as I'm aware.

      1 for the men folk, groom best man etc

      2 for the females

      1 does a double journey
      1st run takes mother of the bride (sometimes flower girl depending on relationship, ie if she is close family) etc as they get there before you etc

      2nd time, bridesmaids MOH
      and the 3rd car is the bridal car, for you and your dad if he is giving you away

      The price will depend on what sort of car you want and do you want it to take bridesmaids to church first and how many journies after the service.I say a rough guide for something like a Rolls Royce or Daimler would be about £250. It would come with ribbons and usally flowers in the back window and many companies also supply a glass of champagne for the married couple. I hope this helps

      Not every car rental company offers cars for one day occasions like wedding, prom, valentines day etc. Their are some specific sort of companies that offer such facilities and luxury cars for a day or two. Though you can try booking at exotic car hire think they offer luxury cars for one day.

    We are having a small budget wedding so don’t want to go big with the cars. We are just wanting to get either 2 cheaper cars or 1 stretch that will hold 7 ppl.       Congrats on wedding and good work for having a small budget hope you can stick to it.

      A limo can hold 7 people and it usually averages 0.
      call any limo company and ask for a quote DO NOT MENTION WEDDING though they will charge more wait till they give you a quote then say it's for a wedding!
      Also car's aren't that important if you have any friends that have nice cars why not ask them and say you'll pay for fuel and decorate it with ribbions etc. (really who notices cars) it's more the DRESS and FOOD sorry to say.

      Most planners drive SUV's, minivan or a small sized van unless living in a city like NYC. Regardless of how careful you plan an event, there is ALWAYS something that is late and having the option to pick it up yourself, makes your life a lot less stressful.

      Also, keep security in mind when choosing a vehicle. More specifically that you cannot easily see the contents inside. Sometimes it is not the monetary value of the vehicle contents but rather replacement possibility.

    Booking Wedding Cars -what are the risks?
    My daughter gets married next March and has looked at various sites for cars and has found the vehicles she wants for the Big Day.
    Rolls, Bentley and a Merc.
    The cost is about £850 which is fine and I am happy to pay for as the Father of the Bride.
    However, I have heard many tales about Wedding Cars where the vehicles ordered are not the ones which arrived. For example a white Rolls and Bentley were paid for and a silver Rolls and grey Bentley arrived. At my sons wedding last year the Bridal Car broke down and would not start at our house. I do not want any suggestions about which Company to use but need information about the small print on Contracts and what to look out for. Someone must have a horror story about their wedding cars and be able to tell me what to do to avoid the same. I have asked the Company to provide a sample contract before making a deposit, but is there anything else I should do to safeguard the Big Day? Wedding insurance is expensive and has lots of getouts.

      A good, reputable company will have a backup plan (such as a spare car) should something go wrong and should never send a different car to what you had asked for and they had agreed to supply. Ask on a wedding forum such as Hitched or Confetti for recommendations.

      Wedding insurance doesn't have to be expensive. Policies are available for as little as £26 (depending on the level of cover you require).

    We've been looking at wedding cars but they all cost £300+ for a journey that would cost under a tenner in a taxi. It's only one trip as the ceremony and reception are at the same place.

    My wedding is coming up in Jan 2010.. 6 months away. It will be summer time here in sydney. We are on tyt budget so we were thinking what you thought of this:
    Our ceremony is approx 10 mins walk from where i plan to get ready (1km). Is it tacky to get ready and walk to the ceremony with my bridesmaids, father instead of arriving in a car? Our reception is also 10 mins away (1km) so thinking to walk to that too while our photographer takes photos on our way to both places? It is a nice area.. in the sydney CBD (the rocks) for those who may know.
    What are your thoughts? I know it's my wedding and i can do what i like but is it apppropriate and does it look tacky?

      It all depends on the self taste and affordability, and status, they should choose their own.

      Go to your local motor vehicle web site and use the keywords "commercial vehicle" or "Taxi". There you will get an idea which forms you need to fill out in order to have a legal vehicle for the intended purpose and use.

      Also, you will have to let your automobile insurance company know how you intend to use the vehicle so you can carry the correct amount of liability insurance.

      If you are a self employed driver without employees to pay, then lower your rates just a tad so you get more jobs, and therefore, make more profits. Without employees, your overhead will be lower and you can afford to have competitive pricing.

    Hi I am getting married next year, I have my venue and photographer booked so far - I like to do things in advance so I do not get stressed near the time

    problem is I have no idea about wedding cars, whats the cheapest, what looks best, the current trends etc

      If it doesn't sell before our wedding we will be using my fiance's 1966 Ford Fairlane. Which we will drive. If it does sell before our wedding, we will probably end up using my car - 2006 Chevy HHR.

      We are asking our wedding party to drive themselves as well.

      Why? Because renting a car or cars and paying a few hundred bucks for it is something we cannot afford at this time. I was unemployed last year for a couple months, my fiance is unemployed now. We are hoping he will have a job before we need to cancel our current plans because we need the wedding savings for our day-to-day expenses.

      Phone book and wedding fayres (advertised in local paper) for the brides car.
      As the groom I hired a Mercedes SLK350 from guysalmon.com - hired the car for a week as we went away for a few days after. Excellent customer service and a brand new Merc with delivery mileage to pose in! They also do porsche, aston martin etc.

    It is a destination wedding (both sides will be traveling to come). Should we pay for all, some, or none of our guests (and cars) ferry tickets?
    Both sides of the family are traveling. An adult ticket is and a car ticket is . It would be an extra 00 for us to pay for everyone's tickets and cars...increasing our reception budget by almost 50%.

      That is your choose but don't expect many people to be able to afford it.
      You should focus on your wedding and don't worry about the other stuff!

    I got married in 1996 and my aunty managed to find a man who hired his cars and gave what ever you wanted to donate to him to a charity, I would very much like to find this man to help another friend of mine out and help another charity, if anyone has any ideas they would be warmly welcomed.
