      I dunno. For my prom I just had my hair curled and pulled up into a sort of bun thing. I'm sure I'll do something similar for my wedding, it looked awesome. I think some prom hair styles might look too... teenybopper? I'm not sure if that's an expression used in the UK. Juvenile works too. But I think there are some formal womens hairstyles that are classic and perfect for both prom and weddings.

    My hair is passed shoulder length layerd, and very thick, have to straighten it to get it smooth as its dry and frizzy if not.

    Mum is going to do the hair on the day, and have been trying to do the french twist with style a whirl but its not so easy with a style a whirl.
    Oh and I cant have it in ringlets or curly as I have tried my hair is too thick and then I get a big head of curls. LOL
    I have been tempeted to have it down straight and maybe a clip in the pack but I cant find one to match my dress and as my hair is so thick the clip has to be stronf enough to hold. Also I was thinking as the wedding is in July it might be really hot and sweaty hair that is down does not look good

    Does anyone have step by step instrustructions on how to do wedding updo hair styles?
    My hairdresses just moved who was supposed to do my hair for my wedding so now either my mom or bridesmaid will be doing it.

      Its really hard to get a nice updo unless youve done them before, being a hairstylist with experience, even some brides are unhappy with salon results. This is for a big event, do you really want to take the risk? I would find a new stylist. If you still want to do it yourself I would suggest setting your hair in hot rollers then using a mix of hair pins and bobby pins, pin the curls into place how ever you like it. Or go the easy route and do a french twist in the back and curl the front then pin into place.

      I have hair that is similar to yours. I thought that I wanted to have my hair half up and half down, but when I did my trial it just didn't look right on me. I was always used to wearing it down.
      So, I decided to do it all down and loosley curled...it felt like me, but it still looked nice. I also wore a 2 tier elbow length veil.

      i just went through this last month. what i did was googled 'wedding updos' and I looked at pics of celebrity styles at fancy events. this helped me narrow it down. also, take a look at wedding planning websites (ie. www.theknot.com) or bridesmaid websites. google was my best friend in trying to figure this all out.

      i just thought of something else, ask this question again in the wedding section. you're sure to get plenty of websites and advice.

    ok girls i need some help. I am looking for a hair style for my wedding... I my hair is pretty long (maby about 5 in below my shoulders) and i have a tiara.... my veil i intend to wear towards the back (not on top ) .. i am looking for something that is a up-down do. I dont want it up in a bun. but i am stumped! what would work with my tiara and my veil but not be all up? something beautiful!

      I would suggest getting her wedding book called, "I Do:Achieving Your Dream Wedding". It is filled with images of her own wedding including images of her hair style. I own the book and honestly say the images are going to be bigger and better quality than those you can find online. But, if you don't want to buy the book, go for it online.
