Wedding Invitation Samples

Choosing the perfect wedding invitation can prove to be a daunting task especially with the advent of so many designs and features to choose from. It appears that every single detail about planning a wedding is increasingly becoming more sophisticated nowadays and choosing the perfect wedding invitation is no exception. The wedding couple can easily get overwhelmed when it comes to choosing a wedding invitation that suits their wedding style. However, couples should be aware that there is such a thing as a sample wedding invitation. These are basically templates where the couple can get ideas for their desired style.

Wedding invitation samples are usually available in bridal boutiques and they are generally offered free for the couples in order to give them a better idea of what they may be looking for, thereby helping them to make a better decision. Additionally, the internet also provides a vast resource for sample wedding invitations. In fact a lot of wedding boutiques, shops and even wedding coordinators and planners have trooped to the internet and have created their own websites. With just a click of a button you can browse through the various online shops where you can surely find a design that may interest you. Some of the sites even offer free downloads of their designs.

In case you or your partner are on a busy schedule and you happen to be searching for something quick and easy, you may consider hiring wedding services. Hiring the services of a professional wedding planner or coordinator can help you rid yourself from the stress of planning and preparing for your wedding. They can provide you with a wide range of sample invitations for you to choose from. Wedding services offer templates from the basic ones that are commonly used by couples. Such templates are agenerica but there are also unique designs with all sorts of embellishments. You can also have your wedding invitation custom-made because most wedding services have a graphic artist who can design your wedding invitation based on the specifications that you provide.

On the other hand, if you have time and you want to personalize and savor the experience of preparing your wedding, then you can design your own wedding invitation. If you want your invitation to be extraordinary you can collate various designs and then lift off different ideas and put them together. Once you are happy and satisfied with your design, you can start shopping for your preferred stationery and then move on to the printing process. Designing your own wedding invitation can be a lot of fun and there is no limitation to what you want your design to look like. It may prove to be time-consuming but the satisfaction you get from creating a one-of-a-kind wedding invitation is absolutely worth all your time and effort.

To sum it all up, to help you choose the perfect wedding invitation, it would be wise to collect as much samples and templates as you can. This will provide you with more options to choose from and more importantly, your family and friends can give suggestions and feedbacks. Every couple only want the best for their special day, it is therefore important to bear in mind not to make rush decisions. Think a couple of times before making one, not only in terms of choosing the perfect wedding invitation but in every aspect of your wedding as well.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
Is it possible to download free wedding invitation samples?
I am trying to help my Grandaughter make some wedding invitations on my computer. Can't seem to find any samples of this type of card.

    • ANSWER:
I got my invitations from www.theamericanwedding.com and they sent me a huge catalog and samples of the ones I liked before I chose. It was great.

  2. QUESTION:
where to get some wedding invitation samples ?
I mean i am looking for some blank wedding invitations ?

    • ANSWER:
Save time and money printing your invitations or business stationery yourself with printable letterhead paper, holiday stationery, Christmas letterhead, blank wedding invitations, brochure paper, certificate paper, designer stationery, or professional looking stationery sets for your business.

  3. QUESTION:
I ordered some wedding invitation samples. I got the package open and one sample missing. What do I do?
I let it got that time, but now I'm not getting any of my catalogs. Sometimes my mail is late. One day, the postal carrier waved hello to me and I didn't see it; my daughter told me that he did. Ever since then he has been very moody. This is after the samples were missing. He now is angry at me. Just recently, he threw my package at the front security door and made a loud bang. Now my mail service is even worse. What do I do? I don't think this guy is mentally stable.

    • ANSWER:
Call your mail service in the area and report him. Ask him to either be written up or talked to. Or request a route change so that someone else can bring your mail. If it takes time request a mailbox at the post office until they fix the problem. And keep calling if they ignore you. As for the wedding invitations you should call the company and mention you have one missing. I'm sure they would rather accomidate a customer than lose a bride for business. Just make sure your local post office knows.

Why or why not? What PERSONAL things would you post and what PERSONAL things would you not post? What does it say about teachers that do?I personally would not, but I can see why someone might do that. Some of my younger male colleagues are very nervous about female students with crushes on them, and posting a wedding picture could signal clearly that you are happily married. 24. QUESTION:
Frustrated and trying to find this wedding invitation!?
Okay..so I was browsing TONS of websites looking for wedding invitations and requested a few from a company. I got them in the mail and really liked one they sent. The problem is I have no idea where it came from (website or company). They sent them in a white envelope and below is all of the information I have about them:

    The Sample Distribution Center
    Post Office Box 2002
    Bedford Park, IL 60499-2002

    The invitation code is ISFH1229SI1AT.

I have searched everything online looking for where this might have come from. There aren't any invitation companies with that name which makes me think possibly this is just the name of the company that prints and sends these invitations samples out. The invitation is white with a black monogram and white sheer ribbon. If anyone has ANY idea on what else I can do to find this invitation or website I would GREATLY appreciate it.
There is not a phone number or website on anything to where I can contact them. I know this is a long shot..but I just thought I would see if anyone could find it! Thanks!

  36. QUESTION:
How to write my wedding invitation?
All of the sample invitations say "Mr. and Mrs. Smith request the honor of your attendance at the wedding of their daughter Suzy to James at......"

My dad is deceased, never knew him. and my mom is not financially contributing to the wedding in any way, neither are his parents..

So would it be appropriate to put "Suzy and James would like to request the honor of your attendance of their wedding on...." or something along those lines? No, my name isn't Suzy lol It's just an example.

My mom says she's "hurt" that I don't want to include her name or his parents names on the invitation. If they were paying for the wedding, or at least helping somehow then sure, we would add it. But we're paying for eeeeverrrryyyythiiiinnngg.
My mom makes 6 figures a year.. she can afford to help, but she doesn't want to.. If I ever wanted anything I had to pay for it myself- the extras in life, a car, trips, etc.. so I did. She's just that way.

    • ANSWER:
You include both sets of parents' names - this has NOTHING to do with who is paying for the wedding. You do it out of respect, to show which families you are from.
Many couples pay for their own weddings, but still honour their parents properly.

She helped me by choosing the books she had that she thought would have the most to offer in them based on what I liked. It also helps to be up front with them about your budget. This way they will not show you something outside of your budget and have you love it but not be able to get it.

Here is a tip for when you get your invitations and send them out: when you write up your guest list, give each person/couple/family a number, letter, or alpha-numerical key so if they do not write their names on the RSVP card, you can still identify who sent it back to you. My fiance and I did a alpha-numerical system where my family was B-#, his was G-#, and friends were either BF-# for mine, GF#- for his, and MF-# for mutual friends. It helps because trust me, somebody will forget to write their name(s) on the RSVP card.

      Hope this helps!

  40. QUESTION:
Ok, so I bought 'make them yourself' wedding invitations @ Walmart. Here's a stupid question?
I've looked up some sample wedding invitations, and I found one I liked. However the begining starts "The honour" is that British, or the correct use of the word for this occasion? I dont want to look like a moron if I spell it honor and it's wrong. Also, does it matter on the invitations of the bride/grooms name is first or last?!

    • ANSWER:
Well, the honor/honour question has been answered... I guess if you're having a formal event I'd use "honour" but if it's informal or more relaxed, use "honor" (and yes, "honour" is British... the "old" English way to spell it)

As for who's name goes first... on all the invites that I've ever received in the past, the bride's name is listed first, cuz weddings are all about the bride anyway (don't get me wrong, the groom is important, you kinda need one to become a bride, lol... but think about it... if most grooms had their way, like mine lol, they'd elope to Vegas and be done with it, not go through all this planning and stuff) Anyway I've never seen the groom's name listed first, it's always been the bride's.

But you do what you want, I don't know if there's a right or wrong way of doing it... just tellin' ya what I've seen. :)

      Good luck! :)

  41. QUESTION:
What to put in wedding invitation about long gap between ceremony and reception?
I'm having a Catholic wedding at 2:30pm, Reception (starting with 1-hr hosted bar with hors d'oeuvres) starts at 6pm. The driving time between that two locations is about 30-40 mins. I realize there's an easy 2 hour gap wait for guests that will not partake the in picture taking after church.
My question is - how can I word in the invitation, so they're given heads up, to let them know about this gap in order for them to plan for something in between. Should I list places to go/visit? I'd like to see actual sample of invitation indicating something of that effect, if possible. Otherwise, please advise. I'm planning to send invitations within 2 weeks.
Thanks for all the input. Additionally, the times are fixed now. I've tried moving both vendors and none can budge anymore, unfortunately.
Krissylyn and Seamstress - Thank you! Comments made me laugh and smile.

    • ANSWER:
You just list the Location and Time of ceremony

then list the Location and Time of reception

come join us...getting married blah blah

      2:30pm

      1234 Wilkins Dr
      Somewhere, CO 28745

Reception to be held at Place
      Address
      6:00pm

Do you list places for people to go/visit? No. Not on the invitations. Make a website (theknot.com) and put places on their. Or list places for them to visit on a separate card and add it in the envelope with invitation.

  42. QUESTION:
Is my wedding invitation using proper etiquette?
Here is a sample of my invitation wording:

    Asking the blessing of God
Ms. Janie McKneely Simpson (BRIDES' MOTHER - DIVORCED)
Mr. John Smith (BRIDES' FATHER - DIVORCED)
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Johnson (GROOM'S PARENTS - MARRIED)
request the honour of your presence
at the nuptials uniting their children
    Catherine Elizabeth Smith
    and
    Joseph Johnson
in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony
on Saturday, the third of November
    Two thousand and seven
at one o’clock in the afternoon

    St. George Roman Catholic Church
    1400 Clegg Road
    Natchitoches, Louisiana

Is it correct to list bride's mother first if the parents are divorced? Please let me know if the etiquette rules are being followed.
The parenthesis behind parents' names will not be on the invitation, I just wanted to point out their role for etiquette purposes. Sorry for the confusion!

    • ANSWER:
Keeping your divorced Mother and Father's names seperate is correct! And yes, your Mother's name should go first.

You need to spell out SAINT, it should not be abbreviated (St).
If the Groom has a middle name it should be included and spelled out (like yours, Catherine Elizabeth).

  45. QUESTION:
I'm doing a gerger daisy theme for my "Spring" wedding, any advice on invitations or favor ideas?
I have looked at every wedding invitation website it seems and I can't not find a decent invitation that has gerber daisy's on it. If this isn't possible I'm looking for a sage green or pink wedding invitation, can anyone point me i the right direction. I'd like it to have good paper qulaity too. Most websites feature invitations (Iv'e ordered samples) that have real flimsy paper.

Also, I need some creative ideas for reception favors.

    Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
IF i were you i would just do it myself. Since your probably having flowers at your wedding anyway, meet with your florists and ask for some flower samples. Choose the ones you you like and play around with them. Take pictures with you and your guy with the daisies. Maybe you two could hold the flower together, while being able to see your rings. Then Create a design on your computer. Make it personal by adding a line from your song that you'll dance to at the reception. Get your paper from a warehouse, the print it yourself or let Kinko's do it. IF you do it yourself, you'll save so much money. And since it is a "spring" wedding, Make some wire springs and use them as napkin rings, for holding pictures in a center piece, or as a candle holder.

  47. QUESTION:
    wedding website on invitation?
Hi!!! I was wondering how to let my guests know about my wedding website. I know that it's best to put it on my save the date cards but I not sending out any (since most of my guests are in town, I don't see the need for it). I am just planning to send my wedding invites a little under 3 mos in advance so they can take off work and such (it's a saturday but a lot of people still work on weekends).
So, should I put it on the bottom of my invitation or in the RSVP cards? My wedding website has all my wedding info, from the sponsors to the readers, to the church and reception maps and directions. But my guests can also RSVP thru my website. I was looking at sample wedding invites and i haven't seen any websites included on them.
    Thanks!!!
of course i am planning to put in phone numbers. what am i supposed to do with my fiance's aunt who can't even turn on a computer? lol! thanks

    • ANSWER:
      1. Good for you, not sending save the dates. If you know me well enough to invite to your wedding, then you know me well enough to tell me personally instead of sending some mass produced junk mail.
      2. Put it on the invitation, right below the letters RSVP in the lower right. Be sure to include any "://" or ".net" notation for those who are less familiar with the internet.
      3. Back in the old days (1900s) we put a phone number in this spot. No one had invented response cards yet. We didn't have to pay for postage on tiny envelopes. Every guest had an opportunity for live voice chat with a host or helper, to ask questions like "How do you get there from I-40?" and "How dressed up should get?" and (it gets really good here) "What kind of gift would the couple appreciate?"

I advise including both a web address and a phone number in the lower right of the address, like this:

      RSVP
      www.yahoo.com/answers
      909-555-1313

and forget the little cards. That way you avoid the awkwardness of people writing in "seven attending" when you have only invited two. They wouldn't dare try that in live voice chat.

  49. QUESTION:
How do you word a wedding invitation with two receptions?
my fiance and I are getting married in the town we live in. My family is flying in, but not all of his family can come. We want those who want to come to the wedding to come, but those who can't make it, we want them to be able to come to the recption in Ohio. We don't want anyone to feel like they are not invited or that they can only go to the Oregon or Ohio reception. We want our guests to be able to choose. How should I word it? Here is a sample of how the invitation looks:

The honor of your presences is requested at the marriage of
    Dragongirl Ladyellei
    to
    Mr. Future Husband
Saturday the Fourth of July Two thousand and nine
    at eleven o’clock am
    Church Chapel
    City, Oregon
Reception immediately following the ceremony at Reception Hall in City, Oregon
    R.S.V.P.
    Our Address
    CIty, Oregon 97XXX

So where do we put the Ohio reception that is on August 15?

    • ANSWER:
Is the July reception at the church reception hall?

If it's at a different location than the church, you're supposed to have a separate card for the reception.

Have a separate card for the August reception.

      Each person would get:
      Invitation
      Reception Card - July
      Celebration - August

  50. QUESTION:
    Picture wedding invitation/announcements?
Now i've seen a billion of those picture announcements that have the little pictures along the side of the couple and then in the center is the "mr and mrs smith announce the wedding of their daughter blah blah etc" It looks like its printed on the same stuff as photos are. Do you have to get those at a studio or does somewhere like costco make them? We are really trying to do everything low cost and i know that would be way cheaper than buying a boatload of invitations or scrapbook paper if some place does this that isnt a portrait studio. I realize we can probably ask one of the people that we've gotten them from but they are all people at my bf's church and i dont really know them and i think i'm handling this part of the wedding. Does anyone know where to get them and that you can look at samples BEFORE you start uploading pictures. (i tried to look at costco to see what they offer but it made me upload pictures first and i cant do that at work!)

    THANKS :)

    • ANSWER:
These are some photo invitations and announcements. You can order samples and view them before you upload your own photos. (Don't forget you can turn any of the save-the-date photo cards into photo invitations.
