Sometimes waiting so long to decide on makeup can have you stuck. At the last moment, just when you think that the planning is all done and you can finally relax, your make-up person asks you how you want your make up to look. And at first you might sit in shock and wonder what she is talking about. Sure you know how to put make-up to go to work and to go out at night with friends, but wearing it for your own wedding is a who 00004000 le new ball park.
You want the make-up to make you look like a princess or at least like a blushing bride. And you might have expected the make-up person to just know what they are doing, but often they ask you because everyone has their own taste and style. Some people wear heavy makeup on a day to day basis, while for others just a bit of lipstick is enough. And there are even other times when brides do not have a makeup artist, but rather a family member or friend putting it on for them.
So it is always important to know what kind of makeup you want before you have it done. That kind of planning takes the stress out of unexpected things that will arise especially when you're planning your own wedding. You can find makeup ideas for brides by looking through magazines. Try to find a picture of someone who has the same skin tone, face shape and dress style as you. You can even look at the model's hair color and style to see if you can match it.
Do you dream of becoming the women and men that are on magazines covers? Have you ever pondered how certain women can look so beautiful at every second of the day? It isn't because that is how they naturally look. No, the celebrities get help. One of the biggest reasons that movie stars appear the way they do, is because they get airbrushed. But the good news is, the airbrush is no longer just the tool of the stars, it can be used from our home.
I was completely sick and tired of home remedies like applying toothpaste or papaya juice on my skin for my ever-increasing acne problem. My skin seemed like it would never be clear and nothing seemed to work on it. I even tried taking all the precautionary measures - believe me, not being able to have chocolate is like torture for a chocoholic like me. And the worst part is, it didn't really help.

QUESTION:
wedding makeup?
I've been reading that I should have my makeup professionally done for my wedding, where do I find someone that does that? Near my wedding site there is no department stores and thats the only place I can think of?-
ANSWER:
If its within your budget,I would suggest going to your local salon or makeup counter to hire a makeup artist to freelance for you . And try out the makeup artist first before the day of the wedding (to make sure you like your makeup) You dont want to wait until the day of...this will make you stressed. Then see if you can hire that person to freelance for you on your wedding day. Im not sure where you are,but it will be more relaxing and less stressful if they come to you(pamper you) on your special day. Usually freelance artist should be about 20-50 per hour.Or offer him/her a flat rate.

QUESTION:
Wedding makeup?
My bridesmaid dosnt want to wear coverup or powder for my wedding...Im concerned about pics and her face glaring in them?
Should I talk to my photographer or my makeup artist?-
ANSWER:
I don't understand her problem with foundation or powder. Chances are her face is going to glare in photos- Even if she has perfect skin (although pictures pick up on the tiniest flaws, so she probably doesn't), with running around and what not, she'll end up getting at least a little bit sweaty, especially if your wedding is in the summer (which I'm assuming it is). Besides that, bridesmaids generally have a uniform look, and everyone looks clean and polished. Her not wearing the makeup honestly could ruin the pictures.
I highly suggest that you talk to your makeup artist. They'll apply a lighter amount of makeup on her, maybe a tinted moisturizer or just a finishing veil.

I'm getting married and I'm thinking of doing a 1940's style themed wedding. Naturally, I want to have 1940's style makeup on the big day. My only concern is that I don't want to leave red lipstick all over my man when we have to kiss. Does anyone know of any solution or product (special lipstick maybe?) to help me out? Thanks.-

QUESTION:
How much to charge for wedding makeup?
I am doing 7 brides maids makeup for a wedding. The thing is i dont know how much to charge. The reason why is because I am only 17. I understand I shouldn't ask for top dollar, but i still want it to be fair. I already did the brides makeup to show her what I can do and she loved it. Anyways anyone have an idea how much I should charge? The only thing extra that I would need to buy would be a couple foundations, mascara and lipgloss. Thanks!!!-
ANSWER:
I'll give you a hint here. Since (I assume) you are a beginner, nobody wants to pay too much for a beginner's work. I wouldn't ask for anything at all. Instead tell them: "give me what you think is fair". You might end up getting more than you were expecting. People, when faced with this sort of problems, are worried to be too cheap or to offend, so they over give. I know you want to make money and you want them to value your work, but at your age (and experience) you just can't ask too much... let THEM give you what they think is right and see what happens. Don't get stuck here, because one client, if satisfied, could mean you will get more by word of mouth.
I really would love to hear what happened, I mean it! Please let me know. You can contact me via the "Contact me" page of my website:

QUESTION:
What would be a good wedding makeup?
I'm going to a wedding tomorrow, how should I do my makeup?-
ANSWER:
First, sweep a shimmery peach such as M.A.C. in Gleam over the entire eye. Then apply an olive-green shade such as Maybelline's Antique Jade in a sideways V shape on the outer corners of your eyes, extending outwards a tad and ending in the middle of the eye. Then add a shimmery ivory (Maybelline's Tranquil Sands) on the browbone and inner corner to open the eye.Add eyeliner along the top lashline and winged out at the corners. Also line your inner rims along the bottom lashline. Top off the eyes with a few coats of black mascara such as M.A.C.'s Plushlash.

No shiny makeup for wedding day pics?
I read someplace that one should avoid shiny makeup for the wedding day. What about shiny blush? When my wedding makeup consultant did my practice application, she did great on the cheeks, but the makeup was sparkly. Does this really matter?-

I've retouched a lot of photographs. We called wedding pictures the "Shiny Happy People" pictures. Glittery is even worse because sometimes the glitter reflects back blue. For the sake of your pictures avoid shiny makeup, glass back drops and raising your arms over your head in a strapless dress.

What do you wear to a wedding (& makeup)? (Females)?
I was wondering what clothes to wear to a weding and what makeup as I haven't been to a wedding since i was little and i can't remember what sort of things i should wear. It's a daytime casual wedding in may and i'm 17 years old with brown eyes and a caramel skin tone.
I want to look nice but feel comfortable and the same with makeup.

ANSWER:
Although it says casual i would still want to wear a dress to a wedding. Maybe you could wear like a halter dress with flip flops. Maybe have the dress have floral print or a nice teal, yellow, or dark pink color. For the makeup, maybe just have earthy tones or a shimmery bronze/gold eye shadow with some mascara and a little bit of eyeliner. Then coverup if needed. QUESTION:
does anyone know someone in the chicago area that does awesome makeup for wedding?
i am a bride to be in june and i am going crazy i cant find anyone for a resonable price to do my wedding makeup. i want to look amazing. so if anyone can help out i am in desperate need
looking for someone in the chicago area-
ANSWER:
I suggest visiting weddinglenox.com and post your request. Their matching system http://www.weddinglenox.com/f-membersignup1.php will match you up with local vendors with pricing you specified. I tried it and have good result as I only recieved response from vendors according to my request. One problem I had with my wedding is that it is hard to locate vendors in most website as most likely they group by states and there are too many of them that's too far from me and I have to look at each site to figure out.
The sites I provide above have a easy to use layout to show you pictures, pricing and location in one page plus, you can send out your inquiry for matching vendor to contact you. That save me lots of time to locate the best vendors with the right price.

QUESTION:
How much does it cost to have a wedding makeup artist (+hairdo) in NY Long Island area?
1. The price for one bride, two bridesmaids and one mom?
2. How long will it take?
3. The procedure?
4. Recommend some?-
ANSWER:
I know that this doesnt really answer your question, but might save you some money. My friend is getting married in a few weeks, and we are all getting our make up done by a mary kay consultant. No charge, but everyone has to buy one product. So even though u have to pay like 10-20, you get a product out of it. They come and do a pre-wedding run through so they know what colors work best on you, and then come the day of the wedding. Jafra also does it, but they charged 50 per person. I know my regular hair salon charges about 60 for make up application and about 30-40 for an updo, but that's in western mass.

How should I do my makeup for the wedding?
Hiyaa, i'm 15 and i'm a bridesmaid for a wedding.
I'm normally... emo, scene, whatever you call it.
So I get kinda dramatic with my makeup.
The dresses are long, black, and have a v neck, like a bikini top.
How should I do my makeup?
Youtube tutorials, pictures, tips, links, anything will help.
Thanks!-
ANSWER:
This will be one of the most important days of your life, you will want to look your best. Wedding make up should seem romantic and dreamy. No dark colours, and not too much make up. Lots of plae eye shadow colours like a peachy colour or pale silver/grey colour. You can also have shimmery colours. Its best to keep the lips nude or have a pale light lip colour that doesn't stand out to much. (you also don't want to get it on the groom when its time to kiss the bride lol).
For cheeks a nice rosy colour is perfect or a bronze colour I have attached a picture below to give you ideas on the sort of looks.

QUESTION:
Has anyone used Macarena Makeup in Houston for Wedding makeup/hair?
Has anyone used Macarena Makeup in Houston for their wedding day makeup and hair? What did you think? Is it worth the cost? Post pictures please
-
ANSWER:
No, I'm using Hues by Heather instead. They're the most well known in Houston along with The Perfect Face. I'm doing airbrush make up along with hair. I know a lot of people who really enjoyed their experience including TV stations, Miss America pageants etc. It is expensive but worth the cost. I'm doing my bridal, engagement, and wedding day done 0 for hair & make up and it includes my mom's airbrush for free all at my location as well. I looked into Macarena as well but their website isn't very straight forward. I couldn't tell if it included hair or not since it mentions airbrush. Either way I think I think it's worth the cost. You only get married once and even though you're beautiful, this will be a bonus. GO FOR IT!

QUESTION:
How should I do my hair and makeup for a wedding?
Im going to be attending a wedding, its an evening wedding and i have a black dressi have long hair so im just thinking about keeping it straight...or if i should curl it with a curling iron
and for makeup im just thinking about wearing black eyeliner and mascara with neutral lipsany tips?
-
ANSWER:
HAIR- For your hair I would recommend a low side pony tail that falls over your shoulder. Wrap a 2 inch section of your hair around the elastic you used to tie it up to give it an elegant vibe.
Photo- http://cdn.sheknows.com/celebsalon/2009/04/miley-cyrus-side-ponytail-hairstyle-09.jpg
Notice how Miley has the pony on one side of her head and a few curly strands of hair hanging beautifully on the other side. Use a curling iron to curl a few strands of your hair that won't be put up into the pony so your hair will look like Miley's in the photo. Use a dab of pomade to keep your curled strands of hair silky and perfectly in placeMAKEUP- Foundation: Use a light foundation to even out your skin tone.
Eyes: Since your dress is black I would go for smoky eyes (Tip: if you go online to thebeautybunny.com and search Jemma Kidd's Guide To The Smoky Eye Look you will get step by step instructions on how to make your eyes look smokin' hot!!!!
Lips: I would go with a Covergirl Shineblast shade to add a tiny dab of color and sparkle to your lips without looking overdone.

QUESTION:
how do people feel about false lashes for wedding makeup?
not crazy ones, just natural enhancing lashesthink it made a difference in photos and such?
-
ANSWER:
I think they're okay, but eyelash extensions are also good. They give you kinda longer lashes... false ones would probably make them thicker? I guess it depends which look you want to go for. A cousin of mine had eyelash extensions done for her wedding and they looked amazing.

QUESTION:
How should I do my sister's makeup for a wedding?
My older sister is a bridesmaid in her best friends wedding, and she wants me to do her makeup.
The dress is a deep blue color. Not quite navy, but not quite royal blue either.
Her skin is about light-medium, cool toned. Probably a NC-15 or 20.
She has hazel eyes, and brown hair.Any help will be greatly appreciated, the wedding's a week from today!
-
ANSWER:
If you're going by a MAC color wheel, and your sister is cool toned, she'd be an NW, not NC. If you use a NC foundation on her she will look seriously jaundiced. For her makeup, don't do anything dramatic or flashy. Let the bride have the spotlight.
I'd do 1940's-1950's contoured eyes with all matte colors. Fill in the brows a teeny bit darker than she usually would, then I'd use a wash of a color a little lighter than her skin all over the lid, including the brow bone and inner corner, and a darker brown through the crease, outer corner, and under the eye. Then I'd use black liner on the top and wing it out A LITTLE. No eyeliner on the bottom or waterline, if you have a flesh-toned or white eyeliner pencil do the waterline with that.
Although a 1940's-1950's look constitutes red lips, I'd keep them a light pink or nude just because it's a wedding. Make sure the lip color is a creamy or matte finish, then I'd contour cheeks with a SUBTLE matte red blush.Wedding Insurance Is A Solution Of Your ProblemsIn our material world, every problem is born with a solution. It is up to your aptitude and management how you solve it. It would not be incorrect to say that our life is like a mathematical equation that we need to solve. We are the most sophisticated creation of the God from every aspect. This is so because we are gifted with innumerable physical and psychological powers and abilities. Though physically we are weaker than the supernatural creature but this fragility is actually our real beauty.
We are a weak and immortal creature, that is why we make relations like...

QUESTION:
How do I go about finding/hiring someone to do my makeup for my wedding?
I dont wear much makeup on a daily basis. Just eyeliner. But for my wedding I want to be all done up. I dont know how to find someone or where to start. My wedding is in December. I dont know anyone that's really good with makeup, so id have to hire someone. Do they do a trial run so I could see what it will look like first? Im confused...please help.-
ANSWER:
Don't sweat a thing. There are a number of different locations you could try. But the one I would recommend is to do a Google search for MAC in your location, once you've located one, take a trip and tell the make artist what you want. Or you can ask one of the artist if they do make up work outside of MAC, most do. From there ask them what the rates are. That's one way, I'm sure there are a thousand more but that will get you in the right direction.

QUESTION:
What should I do for wedding makeup?
I am struggling to decide whether or not to have my makeup professionally done for my wedding. I want it to look nice, but, I can't see paying someone to do it since I do know how to put makeup on. I was thinking of going to a makeup counter or store and having a beauty consult done and going from there. I think it would be cheaper, but I'm not sure. Also, some of my bridesmaids are "makeup deficient" if you will. Should I have them go on consults too?
Ok, another thing is I usually wear Bare Minerals for my makeup. I like that it isn't heavy and just evens out my skin. But, it doesn't give the best coverage. Should I go with something that provides more coverage for the wedding day? I just don't want that "caked on" look.-
ANSWER:
I had the same 'wedding' problem just it was with my hair
I have a good sence of beauty but on my wedding I decided to try something more special and went to the hairdresser
She started to make some 'special' things but at the middle of the process I decided I didnt like my hair - that was not me at all. I jumped up and said I dint like it that way.If you just could see my hairdressers eyes."What are you going to do now?" asked she. "I am going to wet my hair and do something that I will feel comfortable with." was my answer
I bet shed never had another bride like me on the chair
So I went home, stood before the mirror and although averybody arround me was in a hurry I really enjoyed doing my hair. On my wedding day one of my aunts asked WHERE THEY HAD DONE SUCH A BEAUTIFUL HAIRSTYLE FOR ME!!! Heres the conclusion : whatever you do, if you feel comfortable with yourself, everybody will think youre just perfect!!!
So if you are good at make up, then you have an already formed taste for what suits you. If you think you dont understand how to do it, than anything would do just fine for you
In your case, however, its more likely for you to cope better yourself than anybody elese on your own face. May be there are some good make up artists who would do really better but is your wedding the time for experiments?! Or at least go for a test make up several days before the event.Youve mentioned the words 'paying' and 'cheapper'. If money is a problem for you, then you put priorities first. As I feel by reading your question you will do just fine with your own make up. Go for it. I did my make up alone and I felt briliantly on my wedding. I knew what I wanted and it was all that mattered.
About your bridesmaids...may be you could organize a make up artist for them before the wedding, after they get dressed, and give him/her your opinion on how you would like them to be done (heavier or liter make ups, what colors...etc) Then let this person do it for them. If expensive, ask some talented friend to do it for you as a wedding present. Your girls will feel special because you have brought a make up profecionalist especially for them and you will feel comfortable that they are ok on your wedding ...and the wedding pictures will be fine
As for the type of the make up - make some experiments on your face beforehand if you need anything ask some friends to land you something. You will see the difference in between the materials yourself - you have a taste - you said :"I dont want to look like..." Thats enough

QUESTION:
What do you suggest for wedding day makeup, ie foundation and powder?
I'm willing to spend more for wedding make-up, but I have no idea what to get. I don't have pretty skin so I need good coverage without the caked-on look.
Hmm, either those girls have the same sister or they are Bee Luscious sales people. Gosh, which one is it?-
ANSWER:
Sweetie I totally hear you on this subject. I got a few special products for my sister for her wedding day, it was so special she had widowed early in life and never found someone, since her first marriage was really just family and then she found a wonderful person we went all out for her. SHE WAS GORGEOUS THANKS TO BEE LUSCIOUS COSMETICS !I got her the liquid powder mineral foundation in the color vanilla cream because she is fair skin and the retexturizing primer that goes under the foundation.
Then the SILK RADIANCE POWDER its made especially for brides, and wow what a beautiful compliment this was, it is 100% crushed silk and it set my sisters makeup and gave her a beautiful rosy look.
Then the LipTox Sheer in the color PRECIOUS, and a final dusting with the mineral tides compact in flush of pink.
She looked spectacular and she is no spring chicken mind you, and her skin is rough because she works with horses and always outside. The Primer and foundation truly TRANSFORMED HER TO FLAWLESS SKIN.
The web site is www.beeroyalproducts.com
Congratulations !!!! and BEE LUSCIOUS WILL DELIVER THAT PERFECT LOOK YOU ARE WANTING....

QUESTION:
I'm thinking of doing my own makeup for my wedding, any tips or secrets to staying fresh all day?
It is a June wedding in the Toronto area so the weather could either be really hot or cold or perfect! I'm thinking of using Smashbox products, has anyone else done thier own wedding makeup with this brand? I have oily skin too, does that make a difference in the products I should use?
I use Bare Minerals on a daily basis but have heard you should go with more coverage on the big day so your makeup looks nice in photos.-
ANSWER:
I did my own make-up for my wedding. I wanted to make sure it would look good (the quality of the make-up and the colors), so basically I just walked into Sephora, sat down with a consultant and said "I'm going to do my make-up for my wedding but need all new make-up" (all my make-up at the time was old). She did my make-up, gave me lots of pointers along the way, and I ended up buying everything she used (kind of expensive, but I had to replace my make-up anyway). She did use some of that Smashbox primer stuff - it was green to counter the redness in my skin and she said the way it reflects light would make my skin look great in photos. my skin is really oily too, but I really like Chanel foundation and Vincent Longo concealer and powder (the powder provides AWESOME coverage).
So I would recommend going to a professional for advice on what products/colors to use. If you have a Sephora near you, they are great because they don't work on commission and have a ton of brands to choose from (vs. a make-up counter in a dept store that can only choose from that brand).

QUESTION:
Im wearing a gold wedding dress for my wedding and doing my makeup and hair myself what should i do?
Im getting married in africa next year, my wedding dress is gold and so are my shoes, I have sholder lenght hair whitch i am growning for my wedding. I am wearing a vail without a tearria.
any one have any tips on how i shoud do my makeup and hair?
Any help will be good plz! thanks-
ANSWER:
i wore gold dress too. I had shorter hair then bit shorter than shoulder length, but I had it flicked out and a tiara type pearl head thingy. Vail will mess up the hair eventually but I would curl it and get it pinned around the vail, if that makes sense.Make up, I did too, used a lovely Number 7 trio, gold and brown, mainly gold and brown on the edges. Did quite light foundation as you will such a natural glow on the day. Kept my lips natural looking too.
Good luck, the natural glow will over-ride anything else I promise.

QUESTION:
How do you remove a pen mark and makeup spot from a wedding dress?
By the back zipper is a pen mark and also a makeup spot. The fabric is Georgette, but the tag in the dress says Polyester shell and lining. I am unsure on how to treat these stains. Any professionals that can help me with this problem would be great! My wedding is May 30, 2009 so it is coming up fast and I need to remove these stains quick like! Thanks again for any of your help.-
ANSWER:
Okay for the pen try regular rubbing alcohol. Get a q-tip and go to work changing the q-tip as it gets colored by the ink you're removing. As for the make-up spot, I would say try distilled white vinegar, not apple cider. It's a dark color and may stain. Try that & I hope it helps you out. I know the alcohol will take ink stains out. I've used it many times myself.

QUESTION:
Is Tarte a Good Wedding Makeup?
I went to Ulta recently and asked one of the makeup artists there to help choose which makeups would look best for my wedding. All she stuck to was the Tarte makeups, and this is what she suggested for me: the tarte primer, the foundation, the setting powder, and the blush. Will these products really be good for my big day? Please tell me your experiences with this product line!
-
ANSWER:
You might want to call a local skin salon and investigate air brushing your makeup for the big day! That's what a lot of brides do for that gorgeous, flawless skin that photographs well and holds up for the entire event. It's what all the movie stars do! You will generally find them listed in the yellow pages of the phone book--or by doing an online search for "airbrush+makeup"and then add the name of your own town/city.Based on what the Ulta person told you, it will probably be cheaper in the long run than investing in products you might never use again.
If you DO decide to go the makeup route, choose mineral makeups that will bounce light and make for beautiful wedding photos.

QUESTION:
where can i find a makeup artist for my wedding near cincinnati ohio?
I have no idea even where to look. I was thinking like the makeup counters in malls but I don't know how well going to a busy mall would work out on my wedding day.
Any help would be great!-
ANSWER:
As a Cincinnatian, I know my wife tends to think that the Mitchell's salons are very good. They are high end, have several locations throughout the City (including Tri County, West Chester, and more), and will do a very good job for you- much better than someone at the makeup counter at the mall. You could get anything else done there that you might want to do as well- hair, manicure, massage, whatever. Good luck on your big day!

QUESTION:
Do anyone know any good wedding makeup guides online?
I would like to do my own makeup.-
ANSWER:
I would suggest going to a makeup counter at a department store and having them help you with your makeup. I did my own on the day of my wedding but the day before, I went to the makeup counter where I used to buy my makeup and had them help me with colors etc. I didn't want to look made up and wanted to look natural but with a little bit of color and pop. It worked out perfectly plus was easy for me to do the next day.

QUESTION:
What type of foundation do professional makeup artists use for wedding photos?
What type of foundation do professional makeup artists use for wedding photos?
I would ask the person who did my makeup, but I am not speaking to her-she left me to go makeup another bride while I was getting my nails done, and I was late to my own wedding.-
ANSWER:
Go to your local department store (like macys) or somewhere with a designer makeup counter and tell them what you are looking for. Hell if you only want it for some photos for one day, go there and have them pick one for you, they will demonstrate it on your skin. I use estee lauder "tient idole" it is a full coverage, long wear, super great for photos( i am an internet model) but it all really depends on your skin type.Kenerly

QUESTION:
I went to the local mall and had a "makeover" to pick out my wedding day makeup. I want to duplicte that look.
I am doing my makeup on my wedding day my self. I want to duplicate the look the makeup artist at the mall did for me but it was a little more drastic than what i wanted. How do i duplicate and tone it down? Should i go a second time and have it done again?-
ANSWER:
Definitely get it redone, tell them you want something a little more natural. Make a note of the colors they use. Then have a friend/family member take a few photos of the look from a couple of angles (even close up on the eyes). The practice-practice until you can recreate the look consistently. You may even find a look you prefer. Good luck and Congrats on your wedding!

QUESTION:
Hair & makeup for a somewhat destination wedding?
I'm getting married in January near Mount Rainier (Washington) and I'm wondering what I should do about my hair and makeup. The wedding location is not very close to...anything really. I could drive 2 hours and get everything done in Seattle but being the middle of Winter, I'd prefer to stay on location (if the wedding). What can I do?I thought maybe visiting some makeup counters and getting some looks I could recreate myself could work. Any other suggestions?
-
ANSWER:
That's what I'm planning on doing, going to some make up counters and as they're doing my make up tell me step by step what they're doing, so I can do it myself. Also you could do a trial of your hair too, go to a salon ask what the think would look cute and also have them tell you step by step what they sre doing and you could have your brides maids help you with your hair. Hope I helped some, congrats =)
