Weeding for any custom or religion is a movement of joy, celebration and happiness. An event that lasts from months to certain weeks is celebrated in all the custom. Exceptions are certainly there which do not advocate the institution of marriage. Across cultures we see different customs and craze that follow a weeding. The first and the foremost that seeks importance during the weeding are the weeding dresses. The weeding dresses are both designed for bride and the groom. Realizing the importance today there are different designer labels that have jumped in the field of wedding dresses as their main line of business. While planning a weeding, one can either refer to designer showrooms or to the local bazaars for the shopping.
Weeding dresses are designed for both the bride and groom; however among the both bride dresses hold a major share and importance. The bride dresses are not only varied in texture and design but also in the range. Comparatively the groom follows certain standard format of dressing and texture. The bride dress during the weeding is eyed the most. And this is the only reason that every bride aims to look the best during a weeding. The texture of a bride dress may range from tussar to silk, may have embroidery of either gold, silver or cooper. These days we see the bride dress are innovated with different elements by designers like pearl, precious stones, shells and among others. It is solely the creativity of the designer that follows the bride dress making it the most attractive. This is what one observes in the designer tags which can be either already designed that is ready to pick or can be designed on order. However they may be varied in the prices. Starting from the basic range from thirty thousand to what one can afford, every bride dress can be explored in accordance to individual's pocket.
An alternative available in the market is the local market of special cities. The two that one can recall is Delhi, the capital of India. Here in the local market one get suit there pocket's and have an alternative to the designers tag if at all they are too expensive to afford. While shopping in Delhi one can explore the local market at Chandini Chowk, Karol Bagh and among others which have ready available dresses (of-course certain alterations are required). These shops are major players in the market at Local Delhi but are trained professionals at their work. The next talking about Hyderabad, city of Nawab's where we find various bride designs influenced by the royalty of nawab's. We may find typically designed dividers to pakstani salwar kamis for different occasions of weeding like mehndi, engagement and the main event of weeding. To conclude one can say that bride dresses are one of the most talked about in any weeding and to suffice the need of any weeding there are various stores that not only suits the pocket of the host but also makes the bride an center of attraction.

It would probably be possible. However, there might be a lot of rules and regulations, as well as unwritten rules that you should know about prior to establishing business in Italy. QUESTION:
what do I have to do to become a wedding planer?
I think it would be a fun job, and I'm good w/ color and getting good deals.-
ANSWER:
If you have friends who are getting married ask them if you can plan their weddings for free. There are books on the subject which give a timeline of what should be done when. Of course you would have to have many consultations with the bride but it would give you practice at staying within budget. You would be making all of the phone calls and appointments and coordinating everyone involved in the wedding. Same with the rehearsal dinner. You would save the bride and her mother and the groom lots and lots of their time. Once you have a few weddings under your belt then you could advertise as a wedding planner with experience. By the way, the bride determines the color scheme and will pick out the dresses. It would be your job to do the ordering and following up on the order if necessary. You could also see if you can get a job as a wedding planner's assistant for the experience even if it would mean moving to a different city. Think of it as going to school.

QUESTION:
how to become a wedding planer?
i want to be a wedding planer but how can i be one..what can i do,,etc..college,,study what?? 10points and i will answer yours-
ANSWER:
Okay what Wonder Woman just said was slightly true. So don't give up if that is really what you want to be. You can go to school for some type of design or get a business degree. I also know that you can create your own major at several colleges, just talk to an adviser who will help get you start. A degree will definitely help you out in the long run. Some of what she said is true. Once your business takes off you wont have weekends off for a very long time and it will be late nights and all day. If you are starting your own business it helps to have assistant who will work for you to get things done. If an actually planner sounds like to much just try being a decorator. You can rent things out and decorate backdrops, tables, chairs, centerpieces, etc...

QUESTION:
how much does a wedding planer?
how much does a wedding planner usually cost? i want to have a 50s style wedding and i need help!!!-
ANSWER:
My opinion on Wedding Planners is they cant do anything for you that you cant do yourself on the internet. If you do your research well you wont have to pay someone on top of paying for your wedding.
I personally think they are too much, but everyone is different.
These days there are so many sites and books, i don't see why you wouldn't be able to figure it all out.
but if you dont want the work or to worry about it... Then by all means! go for it!Different planners have different billing methods: some charge by the hour (anywhere from -0+), others charge a percentage of your entire wedding budget (10-15% is typical), still others charge a flat fee depending on the services you need (package rates run the gamut).
Good Luck in whatever you choose!

QUESTION:
would you reccomend a Wedding planer for a wedding of 250-300?
if so, what are their price range?
i went to a Bridal Show yesterday, and i was talking to one, she seem like she knows what she's doing, and it sound much easier to hire one. i just want someone who know what they are doing to help me plan my wedding.
did you have a wedding planner?-
ANSWER:
I would say it depends on your organizational skills and personality. I'm getting married in August, 361 invited guest, and I planned everything with the help of my Mom and my Sis. Minor things done by my fiancee...he can't plan ANYTHING! I did everything in well advance (engagement was 1 1/2 year) And now I am pretty much done besides the minor beauty things and small items. So now I'm just waiting to get married!Wedding planners can be costly, and your wedding of 250-300 is already going to be expensive. If you have the money to spend, get one, as it will be less stress on you. But in the interest of saving $$, I would do it myself if I were you.
Keep in mind that most function halls have wedding "coordinators" staffed to help you with the actual day once it comes.

QUESTION:
Why does everyone say get a wedding planer?
I had a book that had everything they said I had to have. I got rid of more than 50% of it because my man and I didn't want it at all.
We already had the rings which he and I are wearing ours even though we aren't married yet.We ordered our Marriage license on the 6th of this month and got it this week. I am so happy that we got it and that it is really getting close to our wedding.
With my dress I can't wear a wedding dress looks awful on me. So I am wearing a dress that I can wear again and again just need to have the straps fixed so they don't fall off. Which is going to be done tomorrow.
The other things we got them all done. we didn't want food or decorations at our wedding but my future husband's dad and grandmother wanted to do that so they are and they want it to be great for their Son/Grandson.
We only have 2 people standing up with us made of honor and best man that is it.
We wanted a small wedding and getting a ton of people showing up sighs. Just wanted main family, aunts and uncles and grandparents that was it we got more now. sighs family loves to celabrate weddings I guess. No alcocho at wedding. But maybe later since my furter husbands dad's side of the family love to drink.
My Fiance hates tuxes so none of that just nice dress pants, nice shirt and tie and we are done. same with best man
simple but the way we like it. So why do you need a wedding planer when they think of the biggest wedding ever made?About my job well I got them under Control I am going to talk to the head man of the my job and make sure I have all the days off I need for the wedding
I don't get vacation days because I don't have enough years in to have any yet. And they don't like you to take vacation days on a holiday week or holiday.-
ANSWER:
Probably because you are not having a traditional and elaborate wedding, and they think that if you had a wedding planner your wedding would be more traditional. Most people need help coordinating a reception hall, many guests, a florist, band/dj, photographer/videographer, limos, etc. You went simple and have a simple dress, a small party and don't really care about most of the details that most brides care about. Good luck with your wedding.

QUESTION:
Anyone have a recommendation on weddings in Santorini? Which location, wedding planer, cost range? Thanks?
I'm looking at next May. Is it too late to book? Do we need a wedding planner for a small wedding, maybe 10 people? How long would you recommend spending there? Does the island get old after a few days? Are there daytrips from Santorini that you'd recommend? I'd appreciate all your input.-
ANSWER:
There are several hotels that will do the wedding either for free or a small fee in Santorini. I do not think it is too late to book. The island can get old but if you are planning on relaxing then it will suit. You could also island hop rather easily for a few days also.

QUESTION:
How can I become a Wedding Planer?
Do i have to go to college for it? And if yes for how long?Just tell me everything i need to know about becoming one
First of all i am only 17. I am just trying to figure out what to do with my life. I was babysitting and the 13 year old girl i was babysitting typed the question for me. There is no need for you to be so rude.-
ANSWER:
Start with the Association of Bridal Consultants in New Milford, CT (http://www.bridalassn.com) They have a professional preparation course PLUS they have continuing education once you become "a Consultant." And besides the courses, I strongly recommend working in the industry (for a caterer, for a wedding cake baker, for a disc jockey, for a rental company, for a florist, in a bridal shop, etc) so you are familiar with the many components of a wedding (it's more than just a white gown and tuxedo). When a bride and groom hire a wedding planner the very last thing they want to hear is, "I planned my sister's wedding last year." If you do not have the proper education and photographs or details of previous events that you have planned they will just "move on" to someone else.

QUESTION:
have you taken a online wedding planer/consultant course?
which one, do u feel it was worth it?-
ANSWER:
I was originally going to take an online course, yet found that being in a classroom where you can share common concerns or even resolve situations that can arise was so much more beneficial.Sometimes you need to use that as an experimental item & try out how you would handle any situation or idea.
And I'd do the Planner's course. It will also cover a section on how to consult with clients. if you just do the consulting, you may miss out on how to charge based on what tasks you do for a client.
And try to get books in your library than just basing everything from websites. You would be amazed at what you can learn inside a book, even from the local library.
Need more assistance, just ask!
Good luck!

ANSWER:
What Does a Wedding Planner Do?From African Wedding Guide: "...the role of the wedding consultant is that of a facilitator, mediator, money manager, artisan and constructor of dreams." However, if you've ever been a bride, a groom, or even a bridesmaid, you also know the kind of stress involved with planning a wedding.
Add to the above description, therapist, sounding board, mediator, and even punching bag, figuratively of course, when frazzled nerves come into play.
Required Skills:
A wedding planner must be able to remain calm in the face of adversity. Of course, he or she must be personable and, as mentioned earlier, a good negotiator. You are the mouthpiece for the bride and groom when it comes to ordering flowers, hiring a band and photographer, finding a caterer, etc. You must be able to get them the best service for the lowest price -- your reputation will depend on it. Networking is also important. Establishing good connections will help ensure that you get good deals. That's not all. Running your own business, as well as handling someone else's money, requires that you be adept at handling finances. You must also be very well organized.
A wedding planner must have a good fashion sense. He or she should know about color, music, and flowers. A good knowledge of religions is also imperative, since a wedding ceremony is often a religious one. Related to this, is a knowledge of customs and traditions, which are also part of many wedding ceremonies. Plan to spend a lot of time reading the current bridal magazines, of which there are many, to keep up with the latest trends.Earnings and Startup Costs:
A wedding planner's typical fee, according to an article in iVillage, is generally 10 to 15 percent of the cost of the wedding. Another iVillage article reports on the results of a 2000 Bride's Magazine survey which states that the average cost of a wedding in the U.S. is ,000, placing the consultant's earning per wedding at 00 to 50. According to the article, the cost of a wedding varies by region. Therefore your earnings will vary according to where you live.
The iVillage article lists the following startup costs: ",000 and up for a computer and software, from 0 to ,000 to market yourself via advertisements in the yellow pages and local publications and through direct-mail campaigns; 0 and up for your wardrobe." Office space doesn't have to be an issue, since $about 60 to 70 percent of consultants work from homebased offices$ (Wedding Consultant. Entreprenuer Magazine's Startup Kits).

QUESTION:
why are wedding planers so expensive?
do they worth the money?-
ANSWER:
Your first question:
Why are they so expensive:
-Good quality planners will have many contacts within the industry and can get discounts etc.
-They should be able to get you the 'weedding of your dreams' and create it within your budget or if not, give you ideas on what to do and where to start.
-This is their business, basically they are contractors and middle men. They do all the research and foot work for you so you don't have to and then lay all the options on teh tabel for you to see.2nd question:
Are they worth the money?:
-If they are good, experienced, friendly and artistic and have the right contacts then yes.
- If you are planning a large wedding or a wedding with logistical difficulties then yes.
- If you are cash rich but time poor then yes.Hope this helps. I am planning my own wedding personally and I know it would have been helpful to at least have some guidance.
You don't have to hire a planner for the whole wedding etc. They could just do a small part of the planning e.g catering and venue/ decorations/theme and that consultation may only be a couple of hours.

QUESTION:
wedding planner?
how much does a wedding planer make? I love designing and being creative can someone plz help me-
ANSWER:
You should take a few certification classes and see how you like it...it isn't all designing and being creative. You have to have excellent people skills and be customer service oriented. You have to be extremely well organized and be able to work within budgets, timelines, spacial constraints and VERY tight deadlines. You have to know about the bride and groom's attire, locations for reception and ceremonies, different countries' wedding customs and invitation etiquette. Take a look at courses taught by Wedding Beautiful Worldwide or the Association of Bridal Consultants...it will give you a feel of how much really goes in to planning a wedding for someone else.

ANSWER:
FLOWER IDEAS
Buy flowers wholesale in a local market, grocery store, or online http://www.fiftyflowers.com, and pay a florist to do simple centerpieces. Want to keep things really easy? Do one to two looks in abundance and make an impact. Place tons of branches, like curly willow or dogwood, in urns or tall glass vases from the dollar store; for a bit more flair, hang LED tealights from them with ribbons in your wedding colors. try groupings of the same flower/s in different hues for an affordably stylish look. Cluster vases of different sizes in interesting configurations on tables.Keep ceremony flowers simple by only placing arrangements near the spot where you’ll be exchanging vows, not on every aisle seat or pew.LINEN IDEAS
You can go to a fabric store and make your own linens and overlays. Or if your venue already comes with plain white linens you can create your own overlays to go over the table cloth like a nice organza. You just have to know the size of the table. Or rental from an online linen rental company if their prices are good. And they normally ship nationwide and send linen sample swatches.

If you prefer an evening reception, but still want to stick to a budget, consider a desserts-only reception. Specify on the invitation that you will be serving desserts, so that guests don’t expect a full meal. Offer a delicious array of sweets: pastries, pies, mousses and a dramatic flaming treat like Bananas Foster. To accompany, serve champagne or prosecco and specialty coffees and teas.
Another increasingly popular choice is the cocktail party reception. You'll save thousands on food and decorations; after all, you can forgo big floral arrangements for your tables and adorn small cocktail tables with candles and modest bunches of blooms. Hand pass hors d’oeuvres like mini hot dogs, grilled cheese sandwiches and mini quiches. On a multi-tiered table offer finger foods like Italian breads, olives, artichoke hearts and cheeses, finger fruits and salads. Or consider a chic wine-tasting reception. Guests can sample from different small dishes at food stations, each matched with a special wine. Printed cards can explain the pairing.
Good luck planning hope you like these ideas.Invite Ideas
DIY your invites. There are websites that you can go to as well as going to a staples, office max or crafts store like micheals or a.c moore etc.... and they should have DIY wedding invite kits there for an inexpensive priceBridal Dress and Bridesmaids
Bridesmaids dresses could be bought for a good price at macys, jc pennys, charlotte russe etc.... For the bridal gown you could figure out when your favorite dress designer or bridal store is having a sample sale so you can get a great dress for cheap or just stick to a budget. Also for tuxedos, normally tuxedo companies have sales and specials so keep an eye out for that. Also suites my be a little bit more cheaper but less formal.Photographer:
This is so easy and way cheaper than hiring an actual photographer to do the job. Place a few disposable camera's on the tables. People will take it upon them self's to take pictures of the even. You will end up with a lot more pictures than what you would have paid for a photographer. Or if you don't like that idea you can always give a few throw always to a few people that you really trust, and have them take pictures for you.Videographer:
Go to a rent to own store and pay the rental fee to rent Three or four Cameras. Purchase your tapes they aren't that expensive. Then get you a few stands and place them in the appropriate places, at the church. You will need to get extension cords as well. The best part about this is you can return these items and get your money back. Except the rental fee on the cameras. Have some one in charge of moving the camera's to the hall for you so that way they are in place before you get there.Decor
When it comes to the decorations for the hall. BORROW, BORROW, BORROW! I can't say it enough. Get a hold of as many Christmas lights and other decorations you can. Buy some tulle it isn't that expensive. Wrap the lights and tulle every where. Pull up some pictures off the internet for some ideas. There are cheap ways of recreating the same look.Look at the dollar store for items such as vases for the centerpieces. Also check craft stores like micheals and a.c. moore.

QUESTION:
how much does a wedding coordinator cost or how much did you spend?
http://www.costhelper.com/cost/wedding/wedding-planner.html
I just read this article and I live in the Mid-Atlantic area of the United States. I am thinking I do not want a wedding planer just someone the day of to execute what I planned, coordinate with the vendors, pass out the checks etc... I hate that I am the person everyone goes to as far as coordinating their weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, so I do not have anyone my wedding. How much did you plan on spending on a wedding coordinator? 00.00 seems a bit too much. However I have been wrong before. How much did you spend or are you willing to spend?
Centerpieces, vendors will be done i just want someone to be in charge for the day.-
ANSWER:
hi, i'm a wedding planner myself. there is no one set price for wedding planners. it all depends where u live in ny, and how long they've been a planner. 00 for the day is a steal of a price. the reasons for the planner is so for you and your family to enjoy the special day. you dont want to be having people coming to you to tell you something is wrong and you get fustrated and the day goes by soooooooo fast. or even to have a family member do so as well, is also will kill the day. the planner is to help the day go seemlessly and put out the fires without you knowing so that you can enjoy the big celebration, as well take care of all the needs you have hired them for.and planners charge 2 ways. one is they take a percentage fee off of your budge, and another they have is a set price to the package u have chosen. if i understand you want a Wedding Day Coordination which is a package most or all have.
look around for wedding coordinators that match ur personality and vision, and your price range. if you find someone who just started in the business such as i (less then a year to 3 yrs) thier prices are usually at a very affordable price range. you can look up at your local university for those who are wedding/event managment majors. they would sure love to make sure you day go on without a hitch, and at a very affordable price.

QUESTION:
For my nieces wedding?
I am her wedding planer (This is my business and I'm giving this service to her for free.) I also am making her silk flower arrangements for free. I was just informed by another of her aunts (on her mothers side - who made it clear that she wouldn't be able to assist with any details of my niece's wedding because she had to plan her step-daughters wedding) that she's making the arrangements for the bridal shower. I was informed that I'm expected to show up and where she's registered and which gift in particular I needed to give her. (I also have a wedding planned for the day of her shower and CAN NOT attend as I have to work!)I think what I'm giving her is plenty of a gift - but wanted to ask if I should be expected to give her more in addition to what I'm giving already for free.
That's just it - the gift she wants me to get get her is the MOST expensive one. I'm already giving her something wirth over 00 including the flowers....I'm not spending 0 on this present. I was told to "send the present regardless of being able to be there...."-
ANSWER:
I think what you are giving her is enough. She could of had to plan the wedding herself or hire someone and she could have ended up paying for flowers herself. The other aunt has no right calling you and telling you you have to get her a gift and what gift you have to give. I would simple tell her you wont be able to attend the shower because you have to work and if she doesn't like it she can shove it.

QUESTION:
Wedding Cake Table Background Ideas....?
Our reception hall has plain light yellow walls, and we want our wedding cake to be the focal point. Our wedding planer suggested putting it in the center of the room under an arch covered in a real pretty vine, white a few white flowers on the top of the arch. (at the ceremony we are using white flowers w/ green accents)I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions or have seen different things that sticks out in your mind, like creating a fabric or wood backdrop, or something.
Our colors are black, sage/kiwi, and white. And the room will be dimly lighted w/ a few chandeliers on and some uplights along the walls. It's a night reception. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
Saundra - yes my mom and i both can sew - I thought about taking black fabric about 4 ft wide and dropping it straight from the ceiling to the floor. And putting our logo in kiwi green on it. I just haven't seen this done before. Has anyone else?-
ANSWER:
kk - thanks for posting my site! Those were some of my favorite weddings and backdrops for cakes. Most of the time I do suggest my clients to put their wedding cakes in the middle of the room (it's the most expensive cake you'll ever buy....why stick it in the corner?).
However in some instances, it's not possible but we always try to create a focal point for it. EVERYONE talks about the cake the next day whether they eat it or not.
Suggestions: rent a small stage to elevate the cake (make sure there is enough room for you and the groom to stand on the stage to cut it). Be sure to skirt the legs at the bottom.
Use pin spots on the cake or look at your reception hall to see if they have lights that can point on the cake. Talk to your DJ maybe?
I'm personally not a fan of tulle. Or lattice. Go to WalMart or a fabric store and buy sheer fabric to use instead of tulle.
I love ribbon....create a ribbon backdrop. Be careful though; this idea can be deceivingly expensive...watch your costs on ribbon.
Use stands that can stretch fabric across...can you sew? This is a backdrop idea.
One thing that photographers like is something behind you when they take a picture.....that's why sometimes the cake in the middle is not your best option. It just depends on the room!
Good luck! saundra

QUESTION:
i have 18 months till my wedding what should i be doing? i'm on my own on this so where so i start?
ill have aroun d 50 to 80 guest, i have a 00 budget for now, my fiance helps but hes a guy so doesnt really have much to say, i want ot do the wedding in pink and silver, so what do i do i cant aford a wedding planer so is the any websites to help me or anyone who can get me started?
the date is set for may 31st and the colors will be pink and silver-
ANSWER:
Hi yes there are websites to help with the wedding planning. You should also get one of the Bridal Books and some contain a wedding agenda so that you can see everything you need to do for the wedding.
The two most important things to do is get the church or the hall where you are having the service.
Some places can hold the wedding service and th reception at the same place. You need to also ask the hall if they can help you with either a minister or a judge in your area to perform the service.
Next thing you need to do is find your wedding dress. You also need to decide if you have a large or small wedding party.
You need to plan a budget for your wedding and your fiance needs to help with the budget planning. He needs to decide if he is wearing a tux or a suit.
My suggestion that if you have a small budget, you should have either a morning wedding followed by a brunch or an afternoon service and reception.
You also need to notify the guest that you are planning to have to save the date of your wedding.
If all your guest have email addresses you can probably do a save the date notice to your friends and family, with a reminder to go out six months before the wedding.
You also have to decide about wedding pictures who is going to do them.
You also need to decide on the center pieces for the wedding, and what type of food for the service, the wedding cake and the music for both the church and the reception.
I hope this information helps.

QUESTION:
Wedding planner?
I'm attending school to become a wedding planner but have some doubts... I've always wanted to become a wedding planner/party planer and make other people dreams come true... I'm just concerned if this career will take some time to build clients. I am a people person - wondering if anyone has advise on what to ask clients?
GREAT answer but being new what questions to ask clients and planning a free wedding planning how much do i charge the next time.-
ANSWER:
What to ask clients when you have none? The better question is how to get new clients who will try an unknown, unexperienced planner.Get business cards and hand them out at every wedding shop in your area. Every Tux Rental, every store that sells prom dresses, even FLORISTS. Get your name out there. Do'nt apologize for being new. Everyone has to start somewhere.
lastly, find someone getting married and offer to do their wedding planning for free. Yeah, it iwll take a lot of itme, but when you're done, you'll have your first entries into your portfolio. Plus, one bride always knows more. Tell this bride what to tell others when asked "how much does she charge?" and "Is she any good." Remember, she got it for free, but she will pay for it in free publicity!

Im not sure were to start I have never planed a weeding and I dont have that many people that know how and I think a weeding planer is to $$$ is a wedding better at home or a special location-
ANSWER:
first start with where you want it and see if dates of venues match the dates with a celebrant you want, i found this with me and my sisters wedding ( our wedding are not at the same time) the best place to start, then find a dress, if your like me it could be one of the first ones you try on if your like my sister, mmm we are still looking ha ha,
the venue places and the celebrant will or should help with things and you can see what they have to offer,
at home wedding can sound cheaper but sometimes are not always and a lot of the work you have to do your self where as with a venue they do most for you, i am having it in the backyard, my sister in a venue and hers has worked out cheaper we are both having small and budget weddings.
