QUESTION:
Does anyone have wedding program templates for InDesign?
I'm looking to create a wedding program using InDesign, but I'm hoping someone has a template or an actual program they have already completed. Any help would be huge...thanks!-
ANSWER:
I urge you to stay away from MS Publisher for fear that you'll slip into unsavory ways.HOWEVER, should you find a Publisher file you like, remember that Markzware has a Pub2ID plug-in that you can purchase to convert Publisher files to InDesign.
I agree with the first poster: if you have InDesign, a template will really stifle your creativity for your own wedding invite! You have perhaps the most wonderful layout application on the market, use it as you would a blank canvas!

QUESTION:
DIY Wedding Program - Crane Templates?
We purchased the Crane Ecruwhite DIY wedding program kit and downloaded the Word "templates" that come with it. They come with no instruction, our printer won't print them correctly, and now we're being told by Kinko's that we need to buy a NEW printer -- so much for saving money. Please help -- do you have the secret to make our HP printer print the 7.25"x10.5" programs?
More specifically, it will only print one half of the page. Printing one full piece of paper makes two pages of the program (the paper folds in half) -- but the printer will only print the right-hand side.-
ANSWER:
Please do not purchase another printer! you dont need it! when I was making my own wedding invitations the same thing happened to me. the wording was only printed on the left side. I finally figured out that the templates that came with the invitations was wrong! they didn't work for me. so this is what i did:I went to uprint.com, the wedding section. I found the invitations that I bought, clicked on "view this product" and chose the "print online now" option. Once there I was able to word the invitation extactly how i wanted it and with the font i wanted too. I printed a sample and it was off again, but the great thing is the program online will ask you if it printed right. Choose no and it will tell you exactly what to do.
TRY IT! and good luck. Please ask me any questions or let me know if you need any further assistance

Are there any good templates for printing wedding programs?

If you can purchase a Cristina Re from most paper stores or newsagents. QUESTION:
Know where to download free templates to make paper fans for a wedding?
A simple square-ish design that you would glue to small stick, and maybe print the wedding program on? If no website, maybe a craft store that carries a kit to do at home?
Thanks!
A simple design to print wedding program on, if not maybe where I can order custom printed fans?
thanks-
ANSWER:
I don't think you need a template....just sketch out the shape you want on cardboard to make a stencil. As a side note I would reccomend you go ahead and purchase some inexpensive fans from a company like Oriental Trading or have a print shop do them rather than try to make them yourself. In order to be effective they would need to be made out of heavyweight cardstock and more than just a popsicle stick as a handle. When you factor in the time and cost of materials it's really much more of a pain in the rear than it's worth.

QUESTION:
can you have a wedding program and not include what music is being played?
can you just say something like entering of bridal party, entering of bride, ect i just think its pointless to lists all songs cause nobody really cares what songs are playing and they probably already know them anyways. do you know any templates or have an examples?-
ANSWER:
Most of the programs I have seen haven't had a detailed schedule. Most of the ones I've seen lately identify the attendants, and if there's a special dedication (i.e. parent/grandparent that is deceased)... I personally don't see a need to put them in, but if you're going to the trouble to lay out (entrance of party, welcome, invocation, promises, vows, unity candle, etc), it may look nice to have the song that's played for that particular part fo the ceremony... I'd be more likely to put that in a scrapbook than keep a take-home favor from a reception....

QUESTION:
I wana make up a little booklet/program for a wedding ceremony where is a good template or program i can use?-
ANSWER:
I just used the word processor, and then cut and pasted what I wanted on the program. Since we got married at our local repertory theatre, I just made it up as a theatre playbill, listing bride and groom, the pastor, the wedding party, parents, dressmaker, theatre manager, photographer, bakery, etc. I got a friend to draw 2 bells ringing in a belfry as the cover, and I think some doves. I had some fake ads, and a poem to our parents. It was a lot of fun!Best wishes and God bless!!

QUESTION:
newspaper style wedding invitations...where can i get a program to do it myself?
looking for templates or program. I want to do them myself.-
ANSWER:
I running a small invite/program business from home.I"m not sure what you mean by Newspaper style invites. I've seen so many ideas relating to newspaper style in both paper texture as well as actual design.
What are you looking for exactly? I can help, If it's paper texture go to your local hobby/ craft store and purchase the paper. Use a program like Microsoft Publisher. It may take several draft until you find out what you want. This is also pretty inexpensive!
If it's the Newspaper design and you don't care much about the paper texture, do the same. Get a program like Microsoft publisher and mess around with different ideas like articles and photos and large bright fonts. I have a sample program I can email you. I did this for a bride about 2 years ago. It was super cute!

QUESTION:
Wedding program help?
I am working on my diy wedding programs and i found a template online that i am using its been working out well however when i got to the back of it this is what the template says...To those loved ones who could not be here today
Grandpa First and Last Names
Grandpa First and Last Names
Uncle First and Aunt First and Last Name
Uncle Last NameWe wish you could be standing here with us today, but we know you are here in spirit. You are in our hearts always; we love and miss you.
Thank you to our family and friends for
choosing to celebrate this day with us.Thank you for honoring us with your presence and love.
....I never even thought of doing something like this but now that i see it i think it would be a good idea however ALOT of people in my family have passed away so i was thinking of what i should do and was wondering what you thought....Should i list people like My great grandparents who just recently passed and my few grandparents that have and then put something like "And those many other loved ones we've lost over the years we love you always" i thought that might work but i dont want to offend any one who may see that i put my great grandparents and not my great uncle or something so do you think i should do that or just keep the same wording that the template says but not list any specific names of people??
Or if you have ANY suggestions id love to hear them!
Thanks in advance.
I know i plan on including the brides too. We agreed on grandparents and great grandparents but only the ones we knew and were close to and then under the listing of the last name it will say"And to those other loved ones that could not be here today...
We wish you could be standing here with us today, but we know you are here in spirit. You are in out hearts always. We love and miss you."
I plan on adding the GROOMS too lol im tired obviously.-
ANSWER:
I love the idea, in fact I'm passing it on to my daughter who is engaged and had been mulling over the idea of having a memory candle. I think this is much better idea and everyone will see this more than names on a candle. Plus it is much more economical!!!
I think you can put anyone you feel was important in your life (don't forget to get the groom's names too). If that includes 20+ people, well you've been blessed to have had so many loved ones influence your life. I'm guessing you can make the font smaller in that area if you need to or place names followed by comma to make room for them all.
Great idea girl, thanks for sharing it and no matter whom or how you list them will be fine!

QUESTION:
I'd like to see people's Catholic wedding programs?
In an effort to make my own Catholic wedding programs (for Catholics, non-practicing Catholics, and non-Catholics to understand and appreciate) I was hoping to see others programs. I know there are templates online, but if anyone has a program that worked well for them, please let me know how it was formatted or any tips for my own creating. Thanks!-
ANSWER:
Email me through this site (with your REGULAR email address) and I can send you my son's that I did 3 years ago.It was, however, NOT a Mass. It was just the ceremony -- but it definitely was at the Catholic Church.
PS - I really don't think you need to make it all that "user friendly"....it's simply a program. The priest will guide those to kneel, sit, stand, etc. All priests understand that all the guests at the wedding are not necessarily Catholic.
Now, if this is a Mass....sorry, I can't help you with that. Again, I would just make up a general program and the priest will instruct the guests on what to do. OR, the guests will simply follow the others!

Wedding dress to draw record crowds to London palaceLONDON (Reuters) - Buckingham Palace expects record crowds this summer, when up to 650,000 people are set to file into Queen Elizabeth's London residence and past the dress worn by Kate Middleton at her royal wedding to Prince William.
The ivory and white garment, designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, won over the fashion press and public when Middleton, now the Duchess of Cambridge and a future queen, walked up the aisle of Westminster Abbey in April.
In the run-up to the fairytale wedding, details of the outfit were a closely guarded secret, known only to the handful of people who...

QUESTION:
how do I make a layered wedding program?
Does anyone have a template they can share?-
ANSWER:
I did the layered wedding program, and while they looked nice, they were a real pain to get done correctly, so make sure you do them well ahead of time.Another tip I have is to watch the weight of the paper you use. A heavier weight paper looks nice, but it's very hard to hole punch if you're using ribbons to bind the program. I recommend using a lightweight paper and a very sturdy hole punch. You can also do a single staple at the top and glue a ribbon bow on over the top, which is what we ended up doing.

QUESTION:
How important is the wedding program? Does anyone keep them?
I need thoughts. If you're planning a wedding (or even if you aren't) how much time are you/would you put into your wedding programs?I have a seen a few (rather plain) standard wedding programs like at Michael's. Where all you do is fill in the template and print. It's quick and easy and fairly inexpensive.
On the other hand, I have a few (cute) ideas for a wedding program that I could make myself. It would be a little more to make them than what you could buy in the store.
So....would you just go the cheaper way and go with the standard program or would you be a little more creative even if it means the total cost would be more?
Also let me know how many have actually kept programs from other people's weddings.
-
ANSWER:
Programs can be done very inexpensively with those kits that you mentioned. You could also be creative and make really cute ones. However, no one will keep them. It is the same concept as with wedding invitations. Though I'm sure you mean a lot to many people, they still won't keep the program from your wedding because they won't know what to do with it. My friend made beautiful programs, and half of them weren't even taken at the end of the ceremony. At the end of the night, many of them were left on tables, along with wedding favors. If you can afford them and really want them, have them. If you could do with saving some money, it could easily be put elsewhere, such as towards a wedding party gift or two, a guest book, decorations for the hall....anything you can think of.
No one will miss them if you don't have them.

Hi. Does anyone still have the template from their wedding reception program? If yours went smoothly please help. I am trying to schedule the bridal party entrance, first dance, garter toss, etc. Our reception is 5:00pm to 11:30pm with a 6 hour open bar.-
ANSWER:
Hey darlin' it's been my experience not to list any times on any of the events except for 1.) time of ceremony 2.) time of reception 3.) time of food & open bar opening. No matter what, if you schedual the rest of it, it will never be on time. Not to mention the last thing you want is to be on a writen-on-paper time frame. Relax. It will progress as it should. Just list down the events in what order you want them done in. Believe me sometimes you look for an escape from a talkative relative and there is no better reason then a bouquet toss, garter belt toss, or begining speeches. Not to mention you are going to be socializing alot during the reception and keeping a schedual could ruin the enjoyment of your wedding day. I had a schedual for my best friends wedding and 20 min into the reception I tossed it away because it was stressing her out. Good luck and congrats!

QUESTION:
How do I get Microsoft word back to normal?
I bought do it yourself wedding invitations and when I downloaded the template online, everything was fine with the invitations, but now every time I open the Word program it's in the wedding template. How do I get it back to normal?-
ANSWER:
You need to completely delete the normal.dotm template. This is the blank that's used whenever Word opens.First, make sure Word is NOT OPEN.
It's a hidden file so you need to go to control panel/folders/view and select "show hidden files and folders"
Then go back to your profile. If you don't know what that means its C:USERS"your names" (whatever it is)
Then select AppData>Roaming>Microsoft>Templates
Now you will see "normal.dotm". DELETE IT. When Word opens the next time, it will self-create a brand new one.
So go to Word and open it. You will be back to a regular template.

QUESTION:
Ceremony Program question?
So on all program templates, it mentions bride's parents, grooms parents, and some sort of thank you to the parents for raising them so wonderfully, bla bla bla.Well my parents are alive and well, and did a wonderful job raising me so no problem there....
My fiance's dad is passed on, and his mother is a raging alcoholic who we'd rather not mention at our wedding. His parents did not do a great job of raising him as he was often in and out of foster care.
Do we just totally omit the parents part on the programs, or what?
On the ceremony program we will be using, there is a specific spot for naming parents, it will be a little wierd if we did not name names (ie, not in keeping with the tone of the program)
Please note that his father is dead... and he hasn't had any sort of relationship with his mom in over 20 years. Is it still appropriate to use the words "To our parents.." ?-
ANSWER:
Out of sensitivity to your fiance and his family, I would say something like this:"We would like to thank our families for their love and support. We are lucky to be so blessed."
Or something equally general. You can give your parents a special thank you privately. You don't need to call attention to the groom's ambivalent relationship with his parents.

QUESTION:
how can i plan my own wedding on a 00 and under wedding in australia?
any sites, that sell direct internationally, free programs, templates, bulk factory outlets anything that would help me would be much appreciated.
i would like to do a lot myself but not sure where to start.-
ANSWER:
Where in Australia??My wedding will cost 00. We had originally set 00 but my parents decided to throw in 00 towards it, which was greatly appriciated.
well i went to the shops recently and in a shop called "just crazy bargins" came across some favor boxes exactly the same as some i saw on ebay. They cost on ebay plus postage for a pack of 25.
I found these ones for .50 for a pck of 10, i bought 7 packs and some ribbon all for under . And i they look pretty good if i do say so myself!!
So look around Cheap as Chips, Crazy Clarkes, Go Lo, etc....
Also they have place cards in the same shop, just plan white with a silver border, but if you have some nice fonts on the computer or are an artistic person you can make them really lovely. They cost for a pk of 25 i think, so thats .50 it will cost me, plus my time writing names on them in caligraphy.
Also if you want cheap chocolate for your favours then wait untll after valentines day if you have enough time. Depending when your wedding is... they have lots of cheap love heart chocs on sale after the 14th feb.
I am getting married In a private garden that accepts a fully tax deductable donation, so it wont cost us anything when we claim that back. Look around your local parks, or botanical gardens if you want an outdoor wedding, they dont charge much.
i am thinking about having either silf flowers for my bouquet, if only a small fresh flower bquet. I havent decided yet, but flowers are not ine of my main priorities. i am thinking about something like this...
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=260187006245&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=016
and this for the bridesmaids
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=250249361900&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=015
So this seller does some great flowers at good Prices...

We are having our reception at our local leauges club, upstairs in their funtion room. We are members, so it will only cost us 0 for the room hire and the three course meals are only .90 per head. Which i think is pretty damnd good!!! If you look around the local RSL and places like that you can get a pretty good deal.
We ARE getting a porfessional DJ. I have been to too many weddings where the music was crappy ad everyone sat there with a sullen bored look on their faces. So I will be spending 0 in a DJ for 6 hours. Which isnt the cheapst in the area, but i have heard great revews about him, plus he will be the MC for free. You need to invest in a good DJ to keep the reception flowing nicely.
Wedding cakes are a bit pricey, so we are getting afriend of ours to make it for us. He makes wedding cakes as a hobby. But if you find them too expensive, then try a Cup cake wedding cake. It works our cheaper per person.
We are skipping a professional photographer, but i am still thinking about going to my local TAFE to see if there are any Photography students that would be willing to take the photos for their portfolio. I would offer them 0 for their time and just get the copys of the photos on a disk and print them out at Big W or somewhere like that.
I am decorating myself and going through a company who hire the chair covers and sashes, and will knock off per chair if you want to pick them up and DIY. so thats also something to look at.
Ebay has been my friend, for tulle and rose petals for decorations. I dont really know of any bulk factory outlets sorry i couldnt help you wth that.

QUESTION:
wedding help - songs & programs?
hi all im trying to plan a wedding.im looking for free wedding software or excel templates. i don't want to use an online planner either. im After something i can download on my computer and not have to pay for or be on the net to use. ive tried the conventional pen and paper. but i seem to lose all important information.
i know it s a bit of a high demand but if anyone can help me out here it would be great.
also if anyone knows any LATEST songs that would be good for a a first dance song or music that would be ok to walk down the isle with beside from the wedding march.
-
ANSWER:
Check out theknot.com, they have great song listings on there. They also have a free wedding budgeter that is really helpful and online note page things to save ideas, photos, and vendors, so you won't lose anything. Most of their ideas are high dollar, but some are affordable if you are clever. They even have a very easy to use free wedding website thing that lets you do online RSVP.I don't know where to get templates online, you could try vistaprint.com though for VERY affordable printing. If you sign up they will send you amazing coupons. I bought postcards for my save the dates, return address labels, and business cards with my wedding website address on them. You could also buy PrintShop software, it is cheap and has some very nice templates for all kinds of things. I have made very professional looking stuff with it before. It includes pretty borders, photos, fonts, etc.

QUESTION:
Wedding/Reception?
We are having a simple wedding with a fingerfood reception, however, I want it to be an elegant reception. I was wondering if anyone knew of any cute fingerfood that would be cheap to make or buy. Also, I am completely new to a wedding - I have looked on websites but nothing is really telling me anything. Can someone please tell me play by play so to speak about the ceremony - or a traditional ceremony to be more specific, and also about the reception. This is my first wedding and my parents and my fiances parents havent planned a wedding (they just had a simple one) so I am needing like a LOT of help with this. If you have great ideas and templates for programs and invitations etc etc I would LOVE for you to email me. I am so lost on this stuff. All I know is a few simple things. Only nice and respectful answers please!!! Thanks so much.
May 26th 2007 is the date

ANSWER:
I'll be honest, but try to remain nice & respectful. : )I don't think that frozen mozzarella sticks, frozen mini quiches, popcorn shrimp, wrap or roll-up sandwiches, chicken fingers and frozen egg rolls are going to be elegant. I also don't think that costco/sam's club veggie trays would be elegant, either. To me elegant would be:
Assorted Artisan cheese plate (Brie, Irish Cheddar, Stilton, Camembert, etc) with water crackers, sliced baguettes, and possibly a fig jam/spread.
A grilled Asparagus dish with all Asparagus tips up and aligned. Drizzle this with lemon and olive oil.
Onion tart/puff pastries. This could be done simply by caramelizing some white onions, shredding some grueyer or similar cheese, adding some parsley to the mix, spooning it into puff pastry, covering it with puff pastry, cutting it to desired size, and bake.
Fresh Mozzarella Balls/Sun Dried Tomatoes/Asst. Veggie skewers. Can be served room temperature for easy transport. If you want a veggie plate, stay away from the cheezy celery/broccoli/carrot plates that you find for .99 at every grocery store. Instead, go for something more exotic. Roast some bell peppers, zucchini, yellow squash, asparagus, white onions, tomatoes, garlic, etc. and serve on a platter with a few nice dressings - ranch and bleu cheese. The roasting is easy - cover each with Olive Oil and put in your oven at broiling temp until kind of black. You can also serve with some cubed feta.
You could even do a pita bread section with several types of Hummus. Cut the pita bread into quarters, buy some flavoured from costco or trader joes, put the different hummus types in different bowls with a little sign telling what kind they are (wedding seating cards would be perfect).
And for drinks, have juice, soda, and champagne available at no charge. You could add red & white wines, but I think that champagne would pair nicely with most of the things I mentioned so far.
Another good idea would be to go to different 4 and 5 star restaurant websites and try to copy what they have for appetizers. You may not get it exactly, but it can give you a place to start.
I don't know that finger foods are elegant to begin with, but the presentation and the gourmet factor can at least get you a little closer.
Good luck with the planning! : )
