If you're like most brides, that you want to be surrounded by stunning weather, beautiful flowers, and sunshine. As April showers give way to May flowers, with it brings the most well-liked time of the year to get married, sp 00004000 ring- when all issues begin anew. With this stunning time of the year right around the nook, I could not wait to present a few of my refreshingly simple ideas and suggestions in your spring wedding linens.
A Refreshing Time of Year...
The year's color theme for spring is fresh and bright. Brides are choosing wedding linen colors like fuchsia, vibrant pink, orange, and lime. These fresh color choices play on the symbolism of the spring season, representing new life and new beginnings. With all the distinctive color selections out there at the moment in wedding linens, it can generally seem exhausting to search out decorations and equipment to match. A good way to tie in the spring theme while still complimenting your linen color scheme, is to pull in what the earth has already provided. Decorate your reception with native flowers and greenery which will look (and is) both pure and beautiful. Include white and ivory which can match almost any color combo. For your wedding equipment, table runners work properly and come in many colors.

QUESTION:
What are the BEST BOOKS, MAGAZINES and WEBSITES that would show me WEDDING and RECEPTION DECORATIONS/ IDEAS?
I already know about theknot.com and weddingchannel.com (searched them over again and again -- The Knot has some great stuff with Real Weddings that has helped me out) and I have been looking at Brides, Elegant Brides, Modern Bride, etc. They all seem to focus more on the dresses and rings and not on decorations or reception ideas.We are having an outdoor summertime evening wedding next year and we want it to be in between formal and informal. I was thinking of a country (but not gingham check tablecloths and sunflowers) and sunset theme (idea from a YahooAnswers buddy...Thanks Miss D!!).
Do you know of any books, magazines, websites that would for sure have ideas for what I am talking about or anything you think might have some ideas?
If so, I would greatly appreciate any help!
Thanks!

QUESTION:
cheap wedding and reception decorations ideas?
I am doing my entire wedding by myself and need help with some decorations ideas. What are some cheap things that I can do but yet make the place look nice and romantic? My reception is a cake and punch only. Also how do you make bouquets for cheap??!!-
ANSWER:
I did my entire wedding by myself as well - that is, not hiring more than the photographer. We had our wedding reception in my parent's backyard. They rented a beautiful white tent and we borrowed tables and chairs from a local church. We recruited family members and friends to make the reception food (mostly treats - caramel apples, banana bread, etc.)To decorate I loved the natural fall colors - it was October - so we only got flowers in season, making them very affordable. My bouquet was made from Costco flowers and we created the bouquets ourselves from flowers with a lot of volume to ease the cost. Hydrangeas, mums, chrysanthemums, lily pods and lots of leaves. They were gorgeous.
For centerpieces we used leftover flowers, apples and several types of grasses growing in and around my parent's yard. It may sound cheap but the whole wedding was classy, affordable, beautiful and the most memorable according to each of our 300 guests.

QUESTION:
Ideas for wedding reception decorations and centerpieces???
YOU GUYS ARE GREAT WITH GIVING ME IDEAS!!! I JUST NEED A LITTLE MORE... we are having a private ceremony and later having a reception/after party but i want it to be set up like a real wedding reception. we are going to use a big hall and the colors are pink, red, and white. we are using a colonades with columns for decorations and i need more ideas for centerpieces.... we were thinking about keeping it simple and nice... such as a vase on each table with nice red , pink, and white roses in it and MAYBE with some pretty colorful gemstones at the bottom of the vase... we are also thinking about decorating each table with rose petals of all colors...PLS GIVE ME SOME MORE IDEAS FOR OTHER DECORATIONS... we are doing like balloons, the receptionist table, the gifts table, just want something special for the parents table...
P.S. AND WHAT IS BEST TO USE PLASTIC TABLE COVERS/ OR TABLECLOTHS AS IN FABRIC? IM NOT SURE
thanks
-
ANSWER:
I would go with cloth, not table plastic tablecloths. Looks classier. What about little candles with your rose petals? I saw someone use mirrors as a base, and they put tealight candles and rose petals on with a vase in the middle. It looked really classy, even though it was pretty simplistic. You could use red and/or pink rose petals, white candles, and a vase with the gemstones like you thought of and some flowers. The light from the candles would reflect off the gemstones.Hope this helps! Congratulations!

Simple candle arrangments for centerpieces would be great. And they work for any time of year...
Here's just an example:
*Black charger plates-can be round/square/oblong-whatever shape you like/choose, You can even mix up the shapes! These can be picked up at any dollar/discount store.
*Silvery/opalescent/mirror type glass marble stones used for floral decor, scatter some of this on the plate. (Also found at dollar/discount stores)
You can even use large silver beads or just some glitter
*Basic white pillar candles--again size and shapes can be mixed from standard round to square...just select and arrange what you like. Put 3/plate in various heights.
*Tie Organza or chiffon ribbon around the candle grouping and then also tuck a flower blossom at the base of the candle grouping. This can be done in alternating patterns to incorporate both your pink and purple. Pink ribbon/purple flower on some----purple ribbon/pink flower on others.If you wanted to go w/a more floral garden look being in the summer....
*Black bud vases/or other floral vessel (bowl, or other shape/size)
*fill w/primarily all white flowers and use just touches of pink/purple filler flowers.
*toss some silver glitter on the table around it. And/or you can even have some "twigs" spray painted silver and added to your floral arrangements....
These centerpieces look very rich and elegant. Whatever you do for decor...be it as simple as balloons and streamers or all floral decor, focus on black/white being your main-most used pallet...tie in touches of the pink, purple and silver. I love the colors but to much pink/purple/silver may end up making it look like a Barbie wedding! LOLFloater bowls are pretty too..
*clear bowls
*use either the fish gravel or marbles in black/pink/prple
*float either candles or flower heads in white/pink/prple
*sprinkle silver glitter or confetti around the bowl.ADDED EDIT:
Just an FYI, "Individual" favors are not really a MUST and most times go to waste. This can be a major area of wasted funds!
For my fall wedding, I'm getting Hershy kisses wrapped in colors for the season (you'd easily be able to do your colors as well), I'm putting these stickers on them:
http://www.orientaltrading.com/application?namespace=search&origin=searchMain.jsp&event=button.search&Ntt=bv-47%2F507&Ntk=all&Ntx=mode%2Bmatchallpartial&N=0
and placing a bowl on each table along w/a table-tent card I'm printing up w/a personal message from my fiance and I thanking them each for being there for our special day.
This way, the guests are still being "thanked" with a little goody, but there won't be as much waste!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If none of these ideas really fit your budget or theme, let me know and I can email you w/more suggestions....I just can't fit it all on here!
Congrats!
QUESTION:
i need some very inexpensive ideas for wedding reception decorations, what are your suggestions?-
ANSWER:
I'm getting married next Saturday. I rented floral baskets from my florist that will be at the ceremony then transferred to the reception. The cost for 4 (tall) was about for all of them.
Check with your florist and bridal shops near you to see if they have things you can rent for cheap.For centerpieces I spent each. Glass bowl from Michaels, White and clear rocks from Walmart and burgundy candles (1 per bowl) from Walmart. We set them up and they look really nice.
For the Cake Table: Votive candles and 2 champagne glasses. We also bought a lighted archway from Michaels that we are using at the altar for the ceremony then placing behind teh cake for the reception
Hope these helped! Good Luck!
QUESTION:
Wedding reception decorations ideas?
So I am getting married very soon. I decided to take an alternative route and just get married at city hall but were still having a nice sized reception wouldnt say big though. I just about have everything covered. I found a reasonably priced location. My mother in law is cooking the food. I will be buying the alcohol and my fiancee has good friend who dj's now my question is this, since im not doing the wedding thing. What should do for centerpieces and decorations at the venue? I havent decided on a color quite yet but I have some thoughts and I just need some overall opinions on what I should do and I dont want to spend crazy on decorations, but I dont want to have cheesy looking reception either. Could somebody please help???-
ANSWER:
Search for "weddings" (and for related search words) in Y!A Discovery -- the archives are FULL of great wedding ideas, many of them not too expensive, too. Lots of unique and "different" ideas as well -- you just never know when you'll come across the ones that suit you perfectly.You'll get way more ideas that way, too, besides waiting for a few to show up just for this question. At least 2-3 brides a week ask Qs like this -- so there are hundreds of ideas stored up.
Have fun!
QUESTION:
Need creative ideas for wedding reception decorations?
My brother is getting married in June. His fiance and her mother have asked me to help with the wedding reception. (particularly the decorations) She is wanting a summer(ish) themed wedding. She knows she wants bird of paradise for her flower. She also wants the colors found in that flower to be her wedding colors. (yellow, orange, light blue-ish purple)
Sorry for all the detail. My question is does anyone have any CREATIVE ideas for things like centerpieces at the guest tables and head table decorations. Also she wants to have a unique place for the guests to set their gifts. (not necessarily a table!) eg. a winter wedding guests could place their gifts under a christmas tree.
Thanks in advance for your ideas. I really need them!-
ANSWER:
When you said birds of paradise I immediately thought of Hawaii, since I live here. I think tropical. maybe you can do large bamboo as a vase with birds of paradise and hibiscus flowers. You could set up a hammock for the gifts to go in. You could cover the tables in banana leaves or palm leaves. Maybe not the whole luau theme, but definitely think tropical island or lazy summer days....
QUESTION:
Ideas for do it yourself wedding/reception decorations?
We're having an outdoor wedding/reception at my dad's house and I want some ideas for decorations that are easy and inexpensive. Any thoughts? I'd also like to get a tent. Know any websites/ companies in central illinois that rent them cheap??
I was thinking about using tiki torches since it will probably begin to get dark before the whole thing is over. I'd prefer white but as far as I know they dont make white ones. Does any one know if you can paint them? Or would that be tacky?-
ANSWER:
We're doing the exact same thing this summer for our wedding.We rented an outdoor tent as well. My parents actually took care of this, so I'm not sure how much it was. I think it was around 0 to 0 for a LARGE tent with walls and windows.
We're having the wedding at my parents house, as they have the large yard we need, plus an additional 130 acres! We'll be setting up the tent for dining outside, and having an indoor/outdoor reception and dance (they have a large building available for the dance part of it).
For the ceremony, we're not doing too much 'decoration', as the outdoors and the flowers are enough for me.
We're using picnic tables, and simple white linens. For centerpieces, we're using my mom's homegrown tigerlilies, and simple vases. Votive candles will be displayed around the tables as well.
For the reception later on all I'm doing is using tulle wrapped with plain white christmas lights. Simple and elegant. We'll also be bringing in trees and plants cultivated from the surrounding bush/forest.
I think a great addition would be japanese paper lanters. Very neat looking, unique, and FUN! I'm trying to find some for my wedding as well. Another great lighting idea is those large outdoor candles. They stand on large poles, and you can get either real candles, or wicks that burn off of oil. Very pretty at nighttime!
I find that for outdoor weddings simple is best! The natural beauty around you is the most pleasing!
Cheers!
QUESTION:
Do you have any ideas for inexpensive decorations for a wedding reception?
I was asked to help someone decorate for their wedding. They still don't have any solid ideas on how to decorate and say they are on a really tight budget. Any suggestions? Their main color is pink. I think their main concern is how to decorate the tables cheaply. The tables are round.-
ANSWER:
First you have to find out what their budget is. Then you can figure out to go within it. You can get any type of vases on sale and get pink candles. You can get river rocks or flat marbles from most stores, pet stores or crafts stores like Michael's. One of the cheapest decorations is to have one large flower floating in water. Flowers like hydrangea or magnolia work great for this. Being so large, just one floating in water will take up most of the table. Buy flatter bowls either in the wedding color in cheap ones and spray paint.Many people aren't doing the whole matchy-matchy thing. Decorators are really big into doing more of a kitchy home feel by using different items on each table.
I used tall vases and seasonal flowers to save money. Glads have multiple blooms on each stem so you only need about 6 stems per vase to fill it up with flowers. Ordering those from a bulk warehouse (like Sam's or BJ's) saved a lot of money.
You need more details before you can start designing this. Is it going to be formal or casual? What time of day? What does the room already look like? You may need to be careful with your colors if the room already has colored carpet. What time of year? What vision do they have?
I had a tropical themed wedding. It was perfect for my husband and I as we love cruising but wouldn't be for other people. Some people love country and for decorations I've seen metal watering cans and sunflowers. That doesn't suit me at all but sunflowers can be grown in no time many places in the country and therefore are really cheap. Some people love how gerbera daisies can be dyed to any bold bright color you want. I've never liked that look but tons of people who have pink as one of their colors ♥love♥ it.
Consider what come members of the family already own. Larger decorations make a much larger impact without as much stuff. Large outdoor patio lamps like the Chinese lanterns add bold bright color and really 2 strings would decorate most halls.
Coupons are a girls best friend. Michael's had a 40% off coupon in the paper every Sunday. I bought one item every week. I also got a lot of things on clearance.
Other centerpiece idea is to incorporate your favors into the centerpiece. That way at the end of the night much of the centerpiece is gone. For example, if you used Chinese take home boxes (with something edible inside) as your favors you could stack them in the center of the table. You wouldn't need as much to finish off the centerpiece.
You really need to get more detail first though. It would be horrible to pick something the bride hates! You need to see the bridesmaids dresses, the hall, and pictures of the cake to try to get an idea of what the bride wants.
QUESTION:
What are some unique wedding decorations for a reception????
My fiance and I are getting married July 2008 and we have most of the planning organized.. My aunt is a wedding coordinator with her own business.. but we are just looking for one kind of decorative thing to stand out... (such as an ice sculpture) but we dont want to waste money on a big block of ice that will melt later anyways.. my colors are Red, Pink, and white. its not a big wedding.... but very nice.. we have a horse and carriage built and its white its for when we march down the aisle and take our pics standing on... cant really explain it.. but can you help me....-
ANSWER:
Use lots of white lights and candles. This will give a luminous, glowy look to your reception. Try to make the atmosphere look dreamy and romantic...make sure you and your fiance love it...after all, it is your day. Try peonies for your flowers. They are so beautiful, yet I don't think many people use them. Also, try to have a fabulous cake. everybody remembers that. Make sure it is beautiful and taste good too. Have you thought about a chocolate fountain? You could have 3 small ones. One with dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and the last one with white chocolate dyed to be pink.!
QUESTION:
Ideas for wedding reception decorations!?
I am getting married in June of 2011. My colors are going to be aqua and silver and I am going with the double wedding ring theme. What are some creative decoration ideas I could use with this theme and the colors. I kinda need to be on a tight budget, but I have a little room to spend. Please help if you can
-
ANSWER:
the easiest and fastest way to bring your color scheme to life is with table toppers. use white clothes or skirts that go to the floor for the base and then either rent or buy table toppers in that aqua color you want to use. you can rent them at: http://www.table_linen_rental.com/Blues-C95.htmlyou can add your silver by either buying some great silver fabric at your local fabric store and cutting runners for your tables....about 10 to 12 inches wide and 6 feet longer than the table is long, if you want them to hang to the floor. or you could rent or buy silver plated candle holders in various shapes and sizes to put on your tables in groups of three. or you can use silver plated votive holders in various places on the tables in groups of three or in a circle around your center pieces. or you could buy or rent silver plated mint julip cups to use as vases for your flowers. or silver plated bud vases from the dollar store with a beautiful single bloom of what ever your flowers are (roses look best with this) and a bit of filler in each one set on a mirror trivet and surrounded by votive candles.
Royal Wedding Fever Reflects in Wedding Trends for 2011(PRWEB) December 9, 2010
Kate Middleton and Prince Williams royal nuptials on April 29 next year are set to reflect in weddings around the world for the next two years, with fairytale bling being the decorating style of choice.
According to the founder of Australias number one online wedding favours destination Pink Frosting and renowned wedding stylist, Kathryn Porritt, the English royal wedding will create princess fever that wont die down for some time yet.
We are predicting that anything that glitters and is monogrammed will be the chic message for 2011 and 2012 brides, Kathryn said.
The royal wedding itself...
if you can't fit the cost of renting table toppers in your budget, you can make them by going to the fabric store and finding some really nice fabric in your aqua color and cutting it in the sizes that will fit your tables....you don't have to hem them for this or anything. just ask the clerk for material that will not run when it is cut and they will also help you figure out how much you need if you take the table dimensions with you.
QUESTION:
What are some good ideas on what to do with wedding decorations and reception decorations AFTER a wedding?
My best friend is getting married on St. Patrick's Day of next year. She originally wanted her colors to be black and pink, but because the groom is Irish and the date being on St. Patrick's Day, she's incorporating hints of green into the wedding too. I am the maid of honor. We have calculated that it would be cheaper to buy many of the decoration items ourselves, rather than rent or hire someone else to decorate. But once the wedding's over, what is she supposed to do with some of the bulk decorations?-
ANSWER:
If it's St. Pat's decorations, elementary schools would probably like to use them. Teachers spend tons of money of their own on decorations for their classroom. St. Pat's would be fun decorations.
QUESTION:
Will my wedding look tacky if my reception hall doesnt match my decorations for my wedding?
ok so im getting married in reception hall that is a little out-dated, otherwise very pretty. the only problem is the colors in the reception hall are blue and red ( red carpet, blue chairs) and my wedding is white and pink and silver. is this going to look horrible? or will it all blend in ok? any tips? PLEASE !!! my wedding is in a month-
ANSWER:
You can't do anything about the carpet, and I see no reason to worry because pink is just a light red. If its in your budget, get chair covers. Many venues have them available, but if not you can either buy them on sites like linentablecloth.com or rent them from your local event supply company. Be warned though--they can run from -10 each, so depending on the number of chairs you have, it might be cost prohibitive. Another option is to rent a completely different style of chair. Basic white wood ones will run around /chair and white plastic is about .I think the other commentors are overreacting. Yes, in our ideal worlds everything would match, but you can only control so much and venue colors are in that realm. Your guests will probably not even pay attention if the colors do clash a bit. Few people look back at a wedding and think about the floor or chair color--they are thinking about the tasty cake and what a fun time they had! Very few brides can afford to cover the walls in fabric, get chair covers and sashes, etc.
Photos are permanent however, and if you are worried about it clashing, simply ask the photographer to get more up-close shots of the tables and people so that less carpet and chair shows.
QUESTION:
Awesome inexpensive wedding decorations for a black & white theme?
I am getting married & my colors are black & white. I don't want to break the bank on this wedding & reception so I am looking for anyone who has ideas & suggestions for "homemade" wedding decorations .... or if you have any suggestions on how to use the colors. We are planning an outdoor September wedding. If you have any really cheap websites for decor, that'd be useful as well!-
ANSWER:
You could go with a zen black & white look inexpensively. Fill fishbowls with polished black & white stones and a floating candle and place on a tatami mat (like, the kind for sushi). Hang japanese paper lanterns.Or, a very hot look if you don't mind DIY is to make some simple arrangements of white and ivory flowers (white roses, hydrangea, mums, get these from an online wholesaler or Sams Club type place). Place these in square glass vases and either cover the vases in black & white damask fabric (VERY chic) or hot glue or tape a belt of black ribbon with a rhinestone buckle around the vases.
QUESTION:
ballons as decorations for a wedding reception tacky or not?
i personally for the most part to do like ballons and wedding together but their will be a large number of childeren (including my son who is 1 and half and loves balloons) at my wedding i was thinking on having the balloons and let the hcildre take them home if they want-
ANSWER:
I personally like them. You'll always have people who think it's tacky and expect giant flower centerpieces. I think it just depends on your venue and how you use the balloons. I love the idea of having a ton of balloons in the ceiling with curled ribbons dangling. Otherwise, if you really worried about tackiness and really want some balloons just have balloons for the children.
QUESTION:
wedding decorations for my reception?
Unfortunately the hall that my fiance and I have decided to book for our reception has plywood walls that are not very flattering. Any suggestions on how to decorate the room to liven it up and take away from the bland?-
ANSWER:
If they let you drape fabrics from the ceiling, that would be my first option. However, some venues won't allow it and in that case I would go for lighting. Hire a lighting designer to set up splashes of color on the walls. The good ones have LED systems and can match your colors exactly. They range from 400 - 1200 bucks but wow, does it make a difference! If that's out of your budget, my next suggestion would be to aim their focus somewhere else, maybe have a fantastic head table, or have candles in the centerpieces and dim the lights some.You have plenty of options and I wish you the best of luck!
QUESTION:
I need some good wedding reception decoration ideas?
Im getting married in October and the colors are cranberry and silver.-
ANSWER:
You could use an assortment of fruit either as centerpieces or to decorate the entry table. Use pomegranates, cranberries (of course), red delicious apples and plums.Also, white Christmas lights do a lot to liven up a space and cost very little.
Branches would also be nice, especially considering the season. You could find some here:
QUESTION:
Indoor Garden theme wedding decorations help please?
I am planning a garden theme wedding for July of 2009. I am struggling because I am doing an indoor wedding reception and don't know a good way to decorate and need some ideas. I was thinking something like bubble bowls filled with flowers, but I'm concerned that will be too plain... I need ideas for center peices and other decoration ideas as well.-
ANSWER:
Start visiting your local craft stores now. Many of them will be having 'summer' items on clearance, such as feather butterflies, dragonflies and such. Stock up to include them in your decorating. You'll want to see if you can find places to either buy (if you think you can re-use it) or rent arches, the kind you'd find in a garden. Place them near the door, over the cake table as well. Same thing trellis' that you could either cover in silk ivy or have garlands made by your florist (pricey though). See if there is a way the venue would allow you to bring in a water feature to add ambiance. Use as many christmas white lights as you can throughout. Large lacy ferns will help fill empty spaces.For centerpieces I would use a tall vase with an arrangement on the top that 'drips' flowers and greenery. Put a battery operated tea light in the vase surrounded by glass marbles to give it a 'glow'. Use those butterflies and dragonflies throughout the entire venue.
QUESTION:
wedding reception decoration ideas/opinions?
I'm getting married in Oct and have rented a hall and an using the rectangular tables they are providing. I'm planning on using curly willow branches as my table centerpieces along with small lanterns.y fiance loved reeses peanutbutter cups so I was also thinking about scattering these around the centerpieces. Any opinions? Also any ideas on inexpensive ways to decorate the walls? I can't put holes in them. By the way I'm on small budget so anyone with cheap ideas please feel free to bring on the advice. Thanks-
ANSWER:
Honestly, I wouldn't bother wasting money on decorating the walls. Most of the time people don't notice - plus once you get all of the tables and guests in the room it won't be such a big deal.
As for the Reese's peanut butter cups - I love that idea! My husband and I got married around Valentine's Day and his favorites are the candy hearts. So, we scattered the candy hearts all over the tables. It looked really nice - of course my husband went around eating most of the candy at the tables, but they are his favorite.
You might want to think about freezing them the night before and scattering them on the table right before the reception starts. If it is hot in there then the chocolate will melt...and you don't want the groom getting any chocolate on your beautiful dress.
Good luck!!! ♥
QUESTION:
wedding reception decoration on a budget.?
my aunts wedding is on less than a month. im the maid of honor and so far ive been put in charge of doing the brides hair, doing one of the brides maids hair, doing my own hair, doing the brides mother's hair, decorating a poster about the brides dad (becasue he died a while back), and decorating the reception hall. ive figured out what im going to do for the tables. im going to do white floating candles in glass bowls with fake green leaves around the bottoms of the bowls as centerpieces for all of the tables except the bride and grooms. with white table cloths on all of them except theirs, too. i might put green under theirs but im not sure. well, i dont have a lot of money to do the decorations with, and im running out of ideas. the place we rented is really bland and needs a lot of work done to it. what are some really CHEAP ways i can decorate the reception hall? other than just the tables?extra info: the wedding colors are sage green, white, and silver. and her dress is made to look kind of antique-ish.
any help is appreciated.
i know. but the other bridesmaids arent really that helpful. lol.one of the bridesmaids daughters is going to help with the decorations.
and she is paying for it, but she hasnt given me an exact amount yet. just that everything needs to be cheap.
im not PAYING for the stuff. she is.
but she chose me to do her hair because im good at it, lol. and im cheaper. she's stressed enough as it is. everyone's been trying to help her out alot. and we're like best friends. the other bridemaid asked me to do her hair to, but the style she wants only takes a few minutes to do, and all im doing to mine is braiding it. its really not much to ask, considering all the other stuff we've been doing as a team. i just need help with how i should decorate.. thx for all the help so far. ANSWER:
You could drape ribbons and/or gauzy fabric over things. It would look good with the candles and dress and the material wouldn't be that expensive. You might also be able to find strings of artifcial leaves to wrap round columns etc.
QUESTION:
Anyone have any great ideas for a nightmare before christmas wedding reception?
Me and my fiance LOVE NBC and were looking into decorations for our wedding reception. I would appreciate any help. Thanks!-
ANSWER:
Well you can probably look up decoration ideas or maybe a site has actual decorations you can buy. If I can find a lion king baby blanket/quilt then I'm sure you can find some decorations. Or do halloween decorations but in Christmas colors (red, blue, green, silver) or the opposite. Ask friends to help make the decorations too. Maybe friends know someone who's a great drawer and they can do it for you. Make it fun and whimsical.For the cake, cup cakes are in right now. Do chocolate or vanilla cupcakes with chocolate frosting, cookie crumbs and gummy bugs like a grave yard. You can have your own small two later cake separate but this way every thing's already portioned out and you make sure there's enough for everyone.
Two layers so you can cut one and save the second for your first anniversary.
QUESTION:
decorations for wedding and reception? clueless!?
I am so bad with this sort of stuff...were having our wedding at a church and the reception at the fire hall banquet hall area. all the tables, napkins, etc are white (not my choice, its from catering) the colors for the wedding party is dark blue. how should i get flowers? where should i put them? do you put them up at the actual wedding too? on the tables at the reception? since its at a fire hall i don't really know where i would go to get decorations for the tables and such. I feel so lost i just want it to look nice. any ideas of budget things? im the first of my friends/family to get married so im kind of at a lost (also have been to few weddings)-
ANSWER:
I'm a wedding videogrpaher. To the delight of my wife I planned our wedding.
you don't state how many people, tables and/or hall size. Acouple of things I've seen are as follows.Yes-flowers can be in the church.
Table decor you want sort of small. We created our own decor. I love dolphins. So we took one foot by one foot mirrors and placed them on a table. The next is a wide mouth glass bowl with glass pebbles in bottom. Fill with water and add tea lights and rose pedals (or any other pedal that coincides with your wedding. The candles can be lit. Before the reception put a name tag sticker on the bottom of one chair at every table. On the name tag says "you win." You or oyur DJ announces for all to look under chair. The one with sticker takes center piece home as a souvenier.
Receptions don't really have flower decor. Baloons always work. You can find sinple baloon bouquets all th way up to big baloown themed stuctures. We had a purple and white arch that all walked through and had pix taken under it.
If you have children invited. Keep them busy with gift packs. go to the dollar store and pick up coloring books, crayons and a little toy. You give these to the kids in attendacne--age appropriate of course.
Another thing was a candy toss for kids with the Bouquet and garter toss.
MY MAJOR PIECE OF ADVISE WITH WOULD BE THIS IS YOUR WEDDING. yOU DO WHAT YOU WANT TO MAKE YOU HAPPY. YOU WILL NOT PLEASE EVERYONE SO DO NOT TRY.
QUESTION:
I am planning a reception for my parents 30th wedding anniversary, where can I find decorations for it?
I have searched and searched for places to purchase 30th wedding anniversay decorations, but I can only find things available in the UK. I do not want to use anything for birthdays because there's really no way to change them into looking more anniversary-like. If I cannot find many things with 30th on it, I would be happy to go along with solid "pearl" color since it represents 30. Right now, I am making them a scrapbook of their 30 years together, so I want everything to be perfect. Let me know any ideas, suggestions, etc that you may have. Thanks in advance!!!-
ANSWER:
I think the reason you are having a hard time is because typically the anniversaries that are celebrated in the US are the 25th and the 50th anniversaries. Perhaps in the UK the 30th is highlighted because I could find items like you said from there for the 30th anniversary.I think going with the solid pearl color will be very nice. Your guests are going to know that it is the 30th anniversary, I did find this little table spray that has 30 on it. I am not sure if it is like what you were looking for.
I am having a hawiian themed wedding reception and need some ideas for decorations & centerpieces?-
ANSWER:
What about Glass Candle Lantern Vases filled with sand and sea shells with a candle in the middle. These look beautiful as the evening progresses. You could write all the guests names on shells on the table.
Orchids in tall vases upside down filled with water look classy and last a long time.
If you go for a beachy hawiian theme you will stay away from all the tacky stuff that is out there.Good Luck. It sounds great!
