Wedding Ring Sets

Wedding ring sets can be an ideal option for those couples who want a matching set of wedding rings. Are you planning on facing the world with matched wedding rings? Would a his and hers wedding ring set suit you?

Advantages of wedding ring sets:

* Cost effective. As a general rule, buying wedding rings as a complete set should cost you less than purchasing them individually.

* Match. The greatest benefit of wedding ring sets is that the wedding rings are matched. Although often the groom's wedding ring may well be a bigger version of the bride's so as to look in proportion on a bigger finger. While traditionally, a wedding ring set involved matching wedding rings for the bride and groom, today's wedding ring sets can also encompass wedding rings that need not be identical, but share a common theme. For example, both the wedding rings are Celtic, but perhaps the bridal ring is inlaid with diamonds.

Other options include the same design, but made in differing patterns. Matching two tone wedding rings can be popular, with perhaps the bride having her feature metal as rose gold, and the groom opting for platinum, making them a little more feminine and masculine.

We just got married, and I am confused as how to wear the wedding ring set....do you wear the engagement ring on the bottom? Or do you wear the band on the bottom? Silly, I know, but it has been bugging me. Thanks for your input.

  4. QUESTION:
What is the best way to get the most out of used wedding ring sets?
Getting a divorce...should I take the rings to a pawn shop, get an appraisal, try a cash4gold.com type deal, or ebay? thank you

    • ANSWER:
Pawn shops pay less than scrappers. Scrappers pay half or less than the value of the gold. Cash4Gold.com will rip you off, and ebay is full of insane losers. If I were you I'd take it to a jeweler, find out what they're offering for it, and then figure its worth at least 3 times that much.

  5. QUESTION:
Where in Melbourne can i buy a reasonably priced wedding ring sets?

    • ANSWER:
Wedding rings are usually made of Gold or Silver. These used to be called precious metals. However, because there are so many computers and microchips being used in other electronic goods today like televisions, washing machines, vacuum cleaners and Iphones and gold is being used in these it has become an industrial metal and much in demand. Hence it has become very expensive.

The story is that you are not going to get a set of wedding rings under a four figure sum anywhere in Melbourne. Have a look around the better known jewellers. The other suggestion that I could make is to have a look around the antique shops. It is amazing. Sometimes you can pick up a good quality pure gold wedding ring that someone has left as part of an estate and the family has decided to sell. You might consider using something like this rather than one of the modern rings.

      Cheers!!!

  10. QUESTION:
What is the best way to clean my wedding ring set?
I just got my wedding ring set professionally cleaned. They also re-dipped, tightened the diamonds, and resized it for me. It looks BRAND NEW! How do I keep it looking clean and new? (I have a jewelry cleaner, but I was wondering if there was a better, or more natural cleaner? Or is the jewelry cleaner the best way to go?) Thanks for your help!

    • ANSWER:
I make jewelry for a living, and one thing that I used to have a problem with was keeping materials from tarnishing before I got a chance to use them. I ran across this tip and it works like a charm for the things you need to store but want to keep clean, including silverware: rub them with a very thin coating of Alberto VO5 Hair Dressing (the greasy hair stuff in the tubes - yes, they still make it!), then wipe your jewelry with a polishing cloth to remove any excess, and store each piece/kind in a Ziploc bag that has all of the air pushed out.

I'm assuming that you will be actually WEARING your wedding rings, though, and while this treatment will help them some, it will rub off rather quickly. I clean all of the precious metal jewelry that I wear regularly with either baking soda or mild toothpaste and warm water using a very soft toothbrush (the one I use is made for young toddlers). I just clean my rings at the same time I scrub my nails. I usually leave them on my hands to scrub them, but remove them once a week or so to make sure I keep lotion and stuff out of any places on the insides of the bands, too, and when I do, I check for loose stones, etc.! I use the little drain basket for my contact lenses in the sink to keep them from getting dropped down the drain!

By the way, a thin coating of VO5 applied to clean hands before working on the car or anything else really dirty or greasy also helps enormously to keep hands and nails from getting grease or grass stained and makes clean-up a breeze afterwards! I used to hate changing the oil or anything in the car cuz I always got grease under my nails and couldn't get it out. Not any more! =)

  11. QUESTION:
Engagement ring and wedding band that fit together?
I've seen engagement/wedding ring sets that fit together to make one ring, but I can't find it anymore. Has anyone else seen this? If so, could you provide a link? Thanks so much!

    • ANSWER:
At Kay Jewelers or J. B. Robinson Jewelers, such bridal sets are called "wrap" or "enhancer" rings. If you go to any Kay or JBR, just ask and they'll show you what you're looking for.

If you aren't a fan of Kay Jewelers, I'm sure most other jewelry stores offer the same merchandise as well, as it's becoming a popular style.

  12. QUESTION:
What's the best way to sell an old wedding ring set?
I have a wedding ring set from my first marriage (many years ago) that I would like to sell. What is the best option I have to sell it and make the highest $ amount.

    • ANSWER:
You could try craigslist.com if you want to sell it locally. It doesn't cost anything to post an ad. Or you could sell them on ebay.com which requires a small fee but you can get bidders from all over the world and the price could go as high as people would be willing to pay for it.

  13. QUESTION:
Where can i find a good deal on a wedding ring?
I am having trouble finding a good price on an wedding ring sets. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    • ANSWER:
exboyfriendjewelry.com Their motto is "you don't want it, and he can't have it back." Its actually used jewelry. As far as used goes, e-bay, pawn shops, and that site all have good deals, however if you don't want a used one, and I wouldn't blame you, you can actually get them at wal-mart or target. I know it may sound a little tacky but they actually do have new, quality pieces at "everyday low prices" :) Congrats!

  14. QUESTION:
Faux wedding ring sets? Cubic zirconia?
I suggested to my fiance that he buy me a "fake" diamond wedding ring set instead of the real thing which can cost so much. To me they look the same and i can't tell the difference.. and I don't care if it isn't real diamonds.................. do you think it's cheap? he's not exactly rich and we are trying to save up money for a house.....he wants to buy me a real one but it won't look anything like these cubic zirconia rings I'm looking at ........ for example

    here is the link: http://www.fantasyjewelrybox.com/rs1006.html

opinions please :) does it look fake to you??

    • ANSWER:
That ring looks quite big and gaudy, I'm not sure it would be the picture of quality. Oh, yes, it's set in sterling silver, really not suitable for long-term wear and for such an important piece of jewelry.

CZ is fine as long as you understand what you're getting. CZ is graded from A-AAAAA, you really want AAA and above in an engagement ring. Even then, CZ is prone to clouding over and can be scratched or chipped quite easily. It is very unlikely a CZ would have longevity, you would maybe have to replace it as soon as after one year.

Kate and Pippa’s royal wedding looks ‘send fake tan sales soaring’

London, May 14 (ANI): Kate and Pippa Middleton's glowing appearance at the Royal Wedding last month has sent sales of fake tan 'soaring', according to a UK retail store chain.

It is rumoured that the Middletons achieved their sun-kissed looks- Kate's natural glow and Pippa's golden tone- with professionally applied artificial tan.

Debenhams revealed that the afternoon of the royal wedding day on April 29 saw fake tan flying off the shelves with sales up 219 percent compared with the same day last year.

Sales were almost as high the following day as shoppers inspired by the wedding highlights on TV boosted sales...

I would still look to get a quality metal setting (Platinum, Palladium, even Gold), and then you can place a CZ in it and change it out as the stone wears out or to replace it with something harder down the road.

Take a look at the asha, it is really the best of the best as far as CZ goes, designed to replicate an ideal H&A cut diamond, See here: http://www.ashadiamonds.com/

And if you want to make longevity more of a priority, check out moissanite. It is a practically colourless, ideal cut stone made in a laboratory. It is incredibly hard and durable and actually has way more fire and brilliance than a diamond or CZ, See here: http://www.moissaniteco.com/

  15. QUESTION:
Do you think it is disrespectful to want to buy a new wedding ring set?
When we got married my husband bought my wedding ring. It is one wide band with diamond in the middle and smaller ones on the side. It has to be worn alone because of the make can't find a band to go with it. I was thinking about buying a new set ring and band and wearing the one I have on the right hand. I don't want to be disrespectful though. I have not mentioned this to him, I wanted to get more input. Any Suggestions?

    • ANSWER:
      How long ago was this?
If it was 5-10 years or so, why don't you talk about getting a new ring for an anniversary? Actually talk and have a conversation about it though.
I don't think it would be rude. It's also possible to use the diamonds in your ring, maybe add more if you want, and just change the setting entirely.

  16. QUESTION:
    Engagement and wedding ring sets?
Ladies or Men! Please, I need help looking for designs to let my future husband know what kind of ring set I want. I am a little clueless! Would appreciate some help!
Thanks and have a nice day :)
I would really like to know what companies you ladies have bought rings from if that makes more sense! I know the ring design is up to me!
That is the kind of answer I am looking for!

    • ANSWER:
Such an exciting time for you.

My first recommendation is to google 4 C's and GIA diamonds. GIA coined the 4 c's and they have a great website. When my fiance and I set out on this journey we were clueless about what makes a diamond valuable. They also have a great diamond buying guide which we printed out.

Second we went to a few local jewelers. We found that if you go to a place with a "lesser know" name or brand they make things up less. Also if you shop around you can compare diamond GIA ratings and see which diamonds you like more or what looks best on you (for the price of course ;) .

  17. QUESTION:
Looking for the name of a particular style of wedding ring set.?
I absolutely loved the wedding set my grandma had but I am having no luck finding one like it anywhere. I am not sure what you call it. The ring consisted of a band on each side and a diamond ring in the middle. I know that in my grandmas case, it was a solitaire wedding ring then after the wedding they got the band. At that time the bands on both sides were fused together and the solitaire ring slid through the middle. If you have any ideas please let me know. Thanks! :)

    • ANSWER:
I would check out larkgems.com... They do a bunch of custom work and may be able to do what you want. And yes, they are solitaire enhancers.

  18. QUESTION:
Where to buy bridal and wedding band ring set at a reasonable price?
Looking for bridal wedding ring set at a reasonable price.

    • ANSWER:
A small family-type jeweler who does consignment sales is likely your best bet. A diamond is basically not going to be able to be damaged by normal wear. A little polish and a used set will look brand new and be a lot cheaper also. Mine belonged to someone else and I got a great deal on it.

  19. QUESTION:
What is the best looking wedding ring in this website?
In this link http://design.jared-diamonds.com/engagement-rings/Wedding-Sets/?Nic=0 *what is the best looking wedding ring set? I'll give 10 points to the one who I agree with. Thanks

    • ANSWER:
      For sure:

      http://design.jared-diamonds.com/engagement-rings/settings-with-sidestones/ring/item_58-5743.asp

The problem is the diamond is of poor quality. You shouldn't get anything less than an eye-clean SI-1 diamond in terms of clarity.

I got my wife's ring at Diamond Brokers of Florida:

      http://www.dbof.com/

Or you could check out these other online sources:

      www.WhiteFlash.com

      www.GoodOldGold.com

      www.ExcelDiamonds.com

      www.BlueNile.com

Blue Nile's database is good, but they don't provide you with photos or analysis reports (ASET, Isee2, B-scope, etc) of the diamond. I wouldn't go with them for that reason.

      Happy hunting.

    • ANSWER:

  21. QUESTION:
My mom left her wedding ring set to my niece before she died and my sister stole them. WTD?
My mom gave her wedding ring set to my niece, Brandy, before she died. We all knew this was to be but then my sister, Ellen went into her room and stole them out of the jewelry box. I have asked her to return them. She said no and plans on silver plating them even though Brandy and her mom Amy know she has them. Since I can not go to her house and take them back I am ready to go to court. What would you do?

    • ANSWER:
Contact the police NOW. What she did was wrong stilling the ring, but what makes it worse is the fact that it is your mother's ring. I myself was given my mothers ring when she pasted away a few years ago and i cant begin to describe how it would make me feel to have it stolen, mostly by a relative. If that was me i would have broke into my sisters house to steal it back (she cant call the cops as its not her property).

Your mother gave this ring to who she wanted to have it before she passed and if i were you i would want to do everything i could to honor my mothers wishes and be sure that the person who she wanted to have it does. I cannot imagine what your niece is going through, so i hope that she gets it back.

  22. QUESTION:
Where is a good place to sell a used wedding ring set?
Have a lightly used (2 years) wedding ring set that cost about 00-6000 new. Do not need it anymore and would like to sell it. Where would I get the best price for it? Ebay? Pawn shop? Jeweler? Thanks

    • ANSWER:
You could list it in the local newspaper and get close to what you paid for it, maybe a thousand less, and I would bet that you would get maybe the same on Ebay but with more work. You can't just go on Ebay and sell an item at that cost with out having sold there before and you must start with low cost items. If you have an Ebay selling acct. and a positivee selling record up to that price then it would work. Also Ebay is now charging for selling. I would start with the local Newspaper. BUT never even consider a pawn shop...complete rip off. As for a jeweler none I have seen are willing to buy it but will often use it for you to trade UP to something else. Good luck!! xoxo

  23. QUESTION:
can i give my parents a wedding ring set?
im only 17 years old and i would love to give my parents wedding ring set. Also any suggestions what kind they would want? They've only been married for 23 years.

    • ANSWER:
Wait for their 25th anniversary and do something big. a wedding ring set should be given to them by each other, not by their child (although it is a LOVELY thought) on their 25th do some HUGE surprise party for them. Invite all their family and friends and have fun. Decorate, make some collages or scrap book of wedding pictures or something and have fun with it!

  24. QUESTION:
Can 18carat gold engagement ring and wedding ring setting be changed to white gold or platinum?
My wife wants to keep the rings that she got when we were engaged/married, but we would like to update them to white gold or platinum. Does anyone know if they can be dipped in a different gold and if so will it last. Also, any ideas what type of cost we would be looking at? Standard diamond ring with 4 small diamonds on each side and the wedding band has about 8 small diamonds in it as well. Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
Yes, yellow gold can certainly be dipped in rhodium, is it recommended? Some say no. It really will depend on the setting, normally stones aren't removed. However, will it last, no, not permanently. The rhodium will wear, and you will need to redip. It takes years to wear down. Cost of a rhodium dip, 20-100 dollars. To buy a platinum setting and have it reset, could be 1000, if it were a solitaire only, then easily half that. Take to a jeweler and ask an opinion, be sure its a jeweler, not just a jewelery store. Look for advertisements in the phone book of a jeweler on site, these places will advertise same day work. A white gold setting would cost 500-700.

    Suggestions on wedding ring sets?
Alright ladies and gents, i'm giving up and thinking about buying an engagement ring. I need all the advise possible from you guys before I go out, do some research, and then ultimately buy one. Average cost? Any reputable online stores to look at? I'm only going to spend about 00 and then later down the road buy something really nice. Just give me any advice possible on choosing a ring. I need it.

    • ANSWER:
Find out what she likes. Some women love huge rocks, some prefer small. Some care more about the size and others the quality. Some think diamonds are a girl's best friend, while others of us really don't care for them. Some would rather have their birthstone or a favorite gem. Me? I wanted the sterling silver frog I've been wearing proudly for the last seventeen years and change. It's certainly not the standard, but you get the idea.

Plus getting me what I really wanted saved my guy a bundle!

Once you have an idea of what will make her eyes sparkle as much as the ring, do your research. Go to multiple stores and see what they have to offer, Google jewelers and see what online resources you find. Ask friends and family members about their experiences. Sometimes talking to someone whose bought from a particular source will tell you more than their website will.

When you find something that closely resembles what the lady would like at a price you can afford, from a reasonably reputable source...that's when to buy.

      Best of luck to you!

think about her everday jewellery, does she normally wear silver or gold or what does she have more of. if she wears silver get white gold so everything can match and she can still wear her favs out, if gold visa versa.

its a personal choice, think about what kind of beads she owns and you should get the picture, snoop throught her jewellery for ideas.

if you are really that stuck make a day out and take her shopping or something for christmas and purposely browse thought jewellery saying your just looking for your mum and see what she eyes off. either that or just ask her

  32. QUESTION:
Need help find wedding ring set?
I absolutely loved the wedding set my grandma had but I am having no luck finding one like it anywhere. I am not sure what you call it. The ring consisted of a band on each side and a diamond ring in the middle. I know that in my grandmas case, it was a solitaire wedding ring then after the wedding they got the band. At that time the bands on both sides were fused together and the solitaire ring slid through the middle. If you have any ideas please let me know. Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
This is a hard one to say i.e., that you will find something off the shelf like your grandmother’s ring. You could try searching through Google images to see if someone has created the same ring. Try also looking at someone who specializes in supplying ring guards. If the solitaire is simple, the ring guard should do the trick. You might have to get your ring guard custom made if you want the same look that your grandma had.

  33. QUESTION:
Just wedding band engagement ring sets?
I've been looking at bridal sets for a long while and I was wondering if anyone had run across a bridal set that was just two wedding bands?

    For example, This: http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/antiquejewelrymall_2062_293862163

    and this: http://www.eternityweddingbands.com/assets/productimages/328e3ace-d7be-420f-bbf2-a6d431f40382.jpg

But them come together in the same set?

I just can't seem to find a wedding ring I like that has a stone that is flush with the band. I don't like the huge diamond that stick out of the rings.. :/

Thanks so much for your help!

Any site links or ideas are much appreciated!

    • ANSWER:
I couldn't find a set like that at all - because one is a wedding band, the other an eternity ring.
You could just put them together if you like, but if you don't want an engagement ring, just skip it, go with a nice wedding band, then have an eternity band added in the future at an anniversary.
Or, maybe consider bezel set rings, or tension set - the diamond is fairly flush.

I want a wedding ring set but the one i like has one diamond in it. And i am being told by mum that she had a ring like this and the diamond come out as she kept it on while washing dishes, her hands, Has anyone else come up against this problem. I am a hairdresser and my hands are in water a lot of the day.

To be honest if you keep putting a diamond in water it is very likely it could loosen it .My only suggestion is that you put it on a chain while your at work. But that is why i have a plain wedding ring . As i don't like taking it off. A jeweller could give you advice but i don't think any stone could withstand water all day.

      Hi there,

Wedding Ring Set include engagement ring and wedding ring as a set.

Nowadays, there isn't really much difference between wedding rings and bands.

  44. QUESTION:
Anything I need to consider before going with titanium for my wedding ring set?
I think I finally found the one!....the ring that is. My SO left all this stuff to me because he knows just how finicky I can be (and loves me anyways :P )

So....anything I need to consider before going the titanium route?

I expect this ring to last forever, so any thoughts and experiences would be much appreciated to help me make the best decision.

    • ANSWER:
A wedding ring should last forever, just like your marriage. A symbol for an eternal bond that is strong enough to endure everything.
A bond may be indestructible, but unfortunately the symbols associated with this bond are mere material objects – and they withstand many stresses in this material world. They scratch; they alter their characteristics, and sometimes are simply destroyed by pure mechanical factors
A titanium wedding band does lasts forever and it stays the always the same, in the same status and appearance as the first day you put it on your finger. As shiny, durable and lightweight, just as your marriage should be.

    http://www.moissaniteco.com/round-brilliant-moissanite-antique-wedding-ring-set-p-9360.html

Just wondering if there is anything I should consider before seriously considering this type of engagement ring. Would it be uncomfortable or cause any problems in daily wear? Anything else to consider? And, is it okay with the two rings in the set rubbing against each other?

    • ANSWER:
Question: What is the point of diamonds on the "side" if your band is going to sit beside them and cover them up? Maybe I'm misunderstanding the photo, but that's what I'm seeing. I'd hate to have my sweetheart pay for diamonds no one will see (twice if I understand the shot, once on the e-ring, once on the w-ring).

Are *you* certain you want all the little stones? Dirt will get in there...

The ring is beautiful and it shouldn't be uncomfortable but go try on one your finger first.

    Opinions please?
Well the first set is my favorite with the round stone. I also don't really like yellow gold, but my husband bought me some yellow gold stuff and I want a ring that will go with yellow or white gold/silver no matter what I wear.

I want to wear what he has given me and have whatever else I wear match....that's why I'm looking at the two tone ones.
Our 10 year anniversary is coming up, so I'm looking for a better ring
