Good luck on your beautiful wedding.

  5. QUESTION:
wedding website without photos of couple?
We are creating a wedding website. And all the examples I see have at least one photo of the couple, if not more. Me and my FH have never been photogenic people. If one person looks good...the other is making a weird face. And we don't have any engagement photos like most of these people.

Do you think the site will be too cold without any personal pictures of us? I understand we can quickly take some photos of us, but again...we're not that photogenic. But I don't want the website to be dull and impersonal.

Thoughts? Does the website absolutely need a picture of us? I was thinking of city pics (wedding in Chicago), theme colors of red/black/white and maybe a photo gallery where the photos don't have to be as elegant. Is that enough or should we have a photo of us on the homepage?

Thanks for you answers in advance!

    • ANSWER:
I think its a nice touch to have personal photos. But of course it IS your site and you can make it your own without putting up pictures of yourself. Maybe get a friend to help you choose your best pictures. Sometimes we are much too hard on ourselves.

  6. QUESTION:
    non-cheesy wedding website?
I'm getting married this summer, and almost all of the guests are from out of town. There is a lot of info that we need to get to them, and I think that having a wedding website may be really useful. However, my fiance and I REALLY don't like the websites w/ tons of photos of the couple staring at each other lovingly and the "our story" section and stuff like that. Does anyone have any ideas of how I could make a fun, genuine, and useful wedding website w/out the cheesiness? If you have an example of a website that you like that would be AWESOME! Thanks

    • ANSWER:
I have a wedding website. Mine does have a section of our story but its just so the other sides of the family can get a little background on us. We are having a destination wedding so the main reason for the site was to get the info to all of the guests. I choose to use www.wedshare.com it is for 18 months but you get your own personalized URL. They also had many more options. With this site you can create it anyway you like.

You can take a look at it if you would like.

  9. QUESTION:
    Best wedding website providers?
I am wondering about the best wedding website to use-- something that is essential when planning a budget wedding! I know I can use the free one from TheKnot.com, or the website sponsored by OBB, but I am also wondering what are the other options.

I am in search of an awesome wedding website that has lots of features-- specifically RSVP ability and will show a video [looks like theknot one only has pictures... and I wanted to make a video STD]-- that is either free or incredibly expensive. It would be great if I could buy a domain name with it.

What has worked for all you? What are your recommendations [or, errrr, anti-recommendations so I know what to stay away from]? If you would like to post an example site that would be awesome!

    • ANSWER:
      Definitely check out http://www.momentville.com

We used them for our website. It is free, and incredibly easy to use. You can customise practically everything, track RSVPs, add videos, photos, slideshows, etc.. It even has built in planning tools if you want to use those.

Wedding Programs including the Wedidng Party Bios?
I like the idea of adding a little "blurb" about how we know each person in our bridal party to the wedding program but I can't find any examples online? Does anyone have pics of theirs that have these bios or have a website that shows some examples?! Just wanting some ideas of how long & how in-depth to go. Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
      Ours are tounge-in-cheek like this:

      June Cleaver, Maid of Honor
Best friend of the bride since kindergarten, keeper of all secrets and routine advice-giver.

      Lucy Riccardo, Bridesmaid
Bride's best friend from college, think they were sisters seperated at birth.

      Marge Simpson, Bridesmaid
Sister of the groom and soon to be sister-in-law. The sister the bride never asked for but got anyway.

      Vanna White, Bridesmaid
Sister of the groom and soon to be sister-in-law. The sister the groom never asked for but got anyway.

Etc. It depends how much space you have and how formal you want it to be. It can be very basic or a bit more lengthy but keep it to a line or two because no one will want to read much more.

      Good luck!

  12. QUESTION:
is there any way to split a website into two?
Is there any way to spit a website into two.

    for example

Wedding Songs – Planning Your Evening Entertainment

Wedding songs can present many couples with something of a dilemma - they want to inject their own personality into the entertainment, but worry that their taste will not be to everyone's liking.

There are certain genres of music that don't cross the great divide of musical taste. Thrash metal, rave music and rap are just three which would not immediately leap out as being suitable for a wedding. But if you are fans of these types of music there is no reason why you cannot include some choice songs on your playlist. The key is to strike the right balance...

  13. QUESTION:
Can you put a Registry card inside of an invitation for a wedding? See example?
Can you put a Registry card inside of an invitation for a wedding? See example?
If you have the invitations that have several pockets in them, like the ones that include directions, accomodations, etc, can one of the slots have a registry card?

I just met with my invitation maker, and we were wondering about a couth way to include the registry just in case people don't check our website.

    See examples;
    http://www.joyfulheartdesign.com/large_images/Tiffany_open.jpg
    http://www.calligraphylady.cceasy.com/pics/EasiestWeddingPics/Dealer/FXN99480Llr.gif
She is not a wedding invitation maker by profession.. She just knows how to create invitations.

She's a therapist. And everyone is not going to have all of the answers on the spot. That's why you ask questions
@Mary.... well said ... thank you. You made a lot of nice points

    • ANSWER:
Wow! That's a very new and modern way to organize a wedding invitation! We had to design our own page of directions to the church and the reception, local hotels, and the bride's home. Some people even complained that we didn't provide postage on the envelopes for the r.s.v.p. cards.

To answer your question: It would totally spoil the elegant image of the invitation packet to include information about a gift registry, even if it was in a matching style. Just make sure that the address on the r.s.v.p. card envelope is one that the guests can also use to ask about appropriate gifts. It would usually be the address of the bride's parents, but any other responsible family member would be all right. These days it's easy enough to obtain a telephone number from an address, even in a distant city, or to get it from friends and acquaintances of the bride.

Don't provide a telephone number anywhere in the invitation packet. It would be too tempting for guests to r.s.v.p. by telephone, and the information might get mislaid. Don't mention your web site in the packet, either. You don't want to spoil that lovely formal image! Rely on your bridesmaids, your close friends, and your family members to pass the word around when people ask.

  14. QUESTION:
Can I use an already bought domain for one of the wedding websites to launch a wedding site at like theknot?
    For example,
My fiance bought a domain from yahoo. I want to use that same domain and register with a wedding website like Theknot.com or Weddingtracker so I can use their templates to create a site? If so how, and if not what do you suggest we do?? I told her not to buy to domain yet, but she was gun-ho...(however you spell that.....)

    • ANSWER:
Contact the folks at theweddingtracker to find out how or if it can be done.

  15. QUESTION:
Is it worth it to buy the Knot's Wedding Flower book, or does the website pretty much say it all?
I flipped through the book at Barnes & Noble, but it was about more expensive than I wanted to spent. I found it on amazon.com for the price I was willing to pay, but now I am wondering if it is even worth it since the knot's website has a flower section that is the exact same as the flower description section.

I liked the book because it was simple and I am just trying to get some inspiration and it had some examples that I really liked for my wedding. I'm not trying to make my own flower arrangements, just trying to get a better understanding of some flowers that would fit my autumn themed wedding (colorwise) that are fun.

So is it worth the , or should I just stick with the website even though I would have to print anything I like and would want to show a florist? It's free shipping since I already had some books in my cart that I am buying from amazon.

I value the opinions of people who actually have or have seen this book. I also welcome suggestions on other books

    • ANSWER:
If you could find a gently used one (or new) via Amazon, it's not a bad book to have. Sometimes you just like to flip pages through a book as opposed to nagivating through a website. Besides, you could always resell the book back on Amazon for cash or Amazon credit. You can also post on your local craigslist book section to see if someone has a copy to sell for an inexpensive price. Another option is to check the public library-you never know what might be there!

      Best of luck to you!

Ok someone with the username that looks like ' posted a reply to this question that I just saw and I want everyone to know that I did not put that there. They took parts of previous answers I made to someone else and made it look like I was yelling at everyone. It's down towards the bottom of the answers to this question. I'm sorry for this person's rudeness...I reported it and I'm hopeing they get what's coming to them.

    • ANSWER:
I really like your idea of not going all expensive and hiring a photographer if your uncle does great pictures. I really like this site for poses. It's not traditional and should be done after you get married though. http://trashthedress.wordpress.com/ Here is another site that is a little more traditional but very pretty. http://www.digitalartsphotography.com/idaho-washington-wedding-photos/index.htm If I were you, I would just go to different sites and save the poses that you like as favorites so you remember them for later. I hope this helps.

    • ANSWER:
If you're from the UK I recommend http://www.hosttell.com/one They are one of the leading European hosting companies (hosting over 500 000 websites), and they currently have a promotion in the UK. They are offering free hosting and a domain (You have to pay the £9.50 setup fee and that's it). photoshop effects for wedding photography?
I am looking for names of effects commonly used in wedding pictures such as black and white or sepia, etc. if you know a website that shows the names and examples that would be very helpful, thanks.

    • ANSWER:
The actions package du jour among wedding photographers is Totally Rad Actions. You can't throw a rock without hitting a wedding photographer using some combination of these effects.

      http://www.gettotallyrad.com/

I generally go for a more natural look with less processing... More natural color or a simple B&W or duotone. However, if you're looking for special effects, TRA is what's popular right now.

  22. QUESTION:
How do you create a log in for a flash website?
Hi everyone, I'm currently creating a flash website for my photography company and I want people to be able to log in to their own albums, for example so Mr and Mrs X can look at their own wedding album whereas other people cannot.

Is it possible to make a log in for a flash website? If so how?
I know the basics of flash and website production and I'm competant with the majority necessary.

    • ANSWER:
Doing any sort of authentication client side is very unreliable and can easily be maniuplated. Even though flash isn't as easy to manipulate as plain old html/javascript it can still be done.

I would advise getting your flash to send user/password to the server and let a server side script (php, asp) to process the request and if applicable allow access to the gallery.

If you need any further help feel free to contact me.

  23. QUESTION:
What is the most creative and unique wedding favor you can think of?
I am looking for something TRULY unique. Use your own creativity. I have been to a million website, so the "creative" make-your-own-candy-bag, personalized CD's, etc are no longer unique because they have been used alot.

To give an example of what I think thinking when I think "unique" are www.iloveflipbooks.com, also I saw someone who once made sunglass cases out of felt that matched their wedding colors. Really...I am looking for SUPER unique ideas. Think out of the box.

    Any creative people out there?

~Photo cookies with a funny photo on them

  24. QUESTION:
When hiring a Wed Developer to create a website, are there suppose to be any disclosures signed?
Like for example, to prevent them from claiming ownership of the website, or trying to steal the idea?

    • ANSWER:
Main thing is to have a contract spelling out everything and I DO mean everything. Especially as to who owns what and who gets ownership of the files/designs upon payment. Set a deadline on completion of site. Don't let them drag you on and on.

Do NOT allow the developer to buy the domain name and the hosting for you. Do that yourself with your own credit card. Make sure you receive ALL the emails concerning the site from the host including the purchase information. Copy your credit card bill where it shows the deduction for the hosting services. You will have to provide the password to the developer to access the server to do your site. Should they be dishonest enough to change the password and lock you out or to take over ownership in any way, you'll have to provide proof of ownership when you call the Hosting Support line. CALL, not email although you can try LiveChat or put in a support ticket. Calling is always best. You're paying for the service.

Just be sure to get a good host that has been in business for some time. GoDaddy is NOT one I would recommend. See: http://nodaddy.com/

I'm not sure if I'm using the correct terminology, which is probably why I can't find an answer by searching, but here goes-

I have a wedding website (www.example.com) and I want to tell guests that they can RSVP by going to www.example.com/rsvp

When they go to this URL, I want it to redirect them to www.example.com/rsvp.html. I don't want them to have to type in the ".html"

How do I go about implementing this (and while I'm at it, what is it called)? I have hosting through GoDaddy.
I forgot to mention- My site is hosted on a Windows server. I get the impression that .htaccess only works on Linux servers. Please let me know if this is not the case!

    • ANSWER:
Technically this depends on the server configuration and the web project itself. However, the following should get you on your way with no problem:

If you do not specify a specific file in the url, (example: website/rsvp/) the server will look for a default file to serve up.

      Two simple steps:
      1. Create a folder named rsvp and put your page in that folder.
      2. The name of the page in this folder must be a default name. For example, index.html for an HTML page.

Now, when visitors enter website/rsvp/ they are actually viewing website/rsvp/index.html.

Note, this is not to be confused with explicit url re-writing which is quite different.

  34. QUESTION:
Is it neccasary to have a "domain" in creating a website. I guess I am confused as It seems one needs to buy
a domain for people to view your site, whereas creating a website through anglefire for example is free. Is a domain different than my website I am creating via anglefire. I just want a basic attractive site people can be linked to for my Wedding services. Sorry for my ignornace!

    • ANSWER:
You don't necessarily have to buy a domain name if you're using Angelfire. Normally, people with business websites purchase domain names for easier recall.

If you create a website in webhosting sites such as Angelfire, you'll get the web address "http://www.hostingsite.com/your page name" or something similar. Sometimes, the web address is a bunch of letters and numbers (gibberish, really), which is hard to give out when promoting your website.

That's the reason why people buy domain names. You can select whatever web address you want, but you need to have your domain name hosted, too (additional cost).

      Good luck! :)

  35. QUESTION:
Can you define what a wedding "theme" actually is?
I know we have discussed this before, but I'm still curious. Some people talk about having "themes" for their weddings. Sometimes it can be something elaborate, like a Halloween theme, beach theme, mardi gras theme, Twilight theme, Romeo and Juliet theme, colonial theme, etc. Sometimes the theme seems to be an object, like hearts or doves or so on. And sometimes the theme is something more intangible, like "Sailing off into the sunset," "Robbed by love," "Traveling the world together" or goodness who knows.

I don't get wedding themes. Never had and still don't. When people say, "I need to find a theme for my wedding" what exactly do they mean? Do they mean one of the elaborate things above, like "Should my wedding be Peter Pan themed, or should it be a Christmas in July theme?"

Or, on the other hand, by "theme" do they mean the style and general appearance of the event, like the underlying design? If so, then maybe more of us have themes than we thought?

For example, say my fiance and I really like orange and yellow polka dots. So we put orange and yellow polka dots on our invitations. Then we decide to put them on our wedding website. Then we find a way to incorporate them into the BM dresses or the menus or the decorations at the reception. So, does that mean we have a theme of orange and yellow polka dots?

Just curious what ya'll think. I don't think weddings need themes at all -- it's a wedding! That's the theme! -- but some consistent design elements do make sense to me.

    • ANSWER:
When I married the first time, the theme of all weddings was "wedding'..lol. and a wedding was a celebration of two people coming together to form a new family within two families already established.

Now, it seems weddings are more about the bride & groom 'expressing' themselves than getting married and the 'ka-ching' of the bridal industry is growing louder and louder with profits.....
.....which is only proof that the more a couple try to 'personalize' their wedding, the more commercialized it becomes, not personalized at all....and I long for the simple, sweet innocent way weddings used to be, -not these elaborate, over the top staged show events.....good luck.

  36. QUESTION:
Where can I find the best website templates for a business?
I asked this question yesterday and didn't quite get recommendations I was looking for.I am starting an event planning company and need to start a website on my own. I need templates and I am willing to pay for a professional look. I would prefer if it was a fancy flash (or something equivalent) website, but I also want it to have the software to edit it. I don't want a template that I have to import to dreamweaver. I want it to be completely customizable.
I just need something with a flash intro with pictures I can ad myself, something that user friendly and easily customizable. Just to give you an example of what I'm looking for, I used the site https://www.weddingwindow.com/ to make my own wedding website and the wizard was very user friendly. Can you point me in the right direction?
just JR- thanks for your answer, although I get where you are coming from, it doesn't make sense for me to hire someone and pay them triple the cost and not be able to edit my own website at the end of the day. With an event planning company, nobody is going to care that I use a template, they will only care about my portfolio and that my website displays professionalism which I believe a template can do. In fact, I know some of the top planners in the industry that use a template, and they are at the top.

    • ANSWER:
      1. Flash is a website killer: it costs you 90% of visitors that will click the back button before the home page is loaded... and will NEVER come back.
      2. A template is recognisable by any web-savvy person, and means: "amateur". It should be prohibited for commercial websites.
      3. Dreamweaver??? Only amateurs use that. The code is so crapy that it is instantaneously recognised by any reasonnable "web surfer": to be avoided at all costs for a commercial website.
      4. Want to make a business website?
Go to professionals, not only in web development, but also in MARKETING.
Start with marketing analysis: it might be that you just need a "business card website" (a presence on the web, not a "business").

Don't try to make a business website yourself: concentrate on your business and delegate the website part of it to professionals. Cut corners, and you WILL FAIL - Guaranteed.

  37. QUESTION:
Where can I find the best website templates + Wizard for a business?
I asked this question yesterday and didn't quite get recommendations I was looking for.I am starting an event planning company and need to start a website on my own. Can you point me in the right direction?
Michael, thanks for the answer, but I need something I can edit myself whenever I need to update something.
I did hire a web designer for my original site, and what I got at the end of the day looks similar to a template and it was nearly impossible to get them to fix something without it costing a bundle. In my business, people aren't going to care that I used a template, they are going to care that my site looks professional and my portfolio is full.

    • ANSWER:
If you wanted a website that wasn't expensive then you could use a freelance website developer, like me :) http://www.astano.tk/ if your interested. If you want a website that can be edited by you, you should build the website using a content management system, these are easy to implement and easy to edit. Look at WordPress or Joomla.

  38. QUESTION:
Could i start an online business working video editing?
im pretty good at video editing and i have tons of software and equipment. how hard would it be to start a business online doing that? people could just send me videos to edit, like a wedding for example, specify how they want it, and paypal me money to do it. simple work. then i send the finished product back to them.
its just an idea i had. i guess i could set up a small website. what is the best way for me to go about doing this?

    • ANSWER:
      - The first thing to do is to convince people visiting your site that you are NOT a crook only after their money.
      - The second thing you should do is to determine how good you really are. with today's gadgets even I can do some video editing.
      - At this stage you should decide whom are your clients and how best to target them. Maybe a website is not the best way maybe you should start with your community... once you decide the profile of your clients then you will be ready to choose the following:
      - Pricing
      - Advert.
      - Sales Strategy
      etc...
Don't think that establishing a successful business on-line is in any way easier than establishing a brick and mortar one. You will need to be much more convinced of the idea and have a lot more passion for it to succeed.

      Good luck

Does anyone know of any websites (example ice.com, hsn.com) that accepts payments on jewelry but will also ship you the jewelry after the first payment. I am needing to find an affordable wedding band and am in a pinch so I have been trying to find somewhere that will accept payments.

  41. QUESTION:
What the heck do people get for a wedding band when they get the 3 row pave engagement ring bands?
Maybe this is a silly question but for the life of me (and my future fiancé), we can’t figure it out!

We will be getting an engagement ring from Leon Mege. I was set on the pave band with the 3 rows of pave as opposed to the single row. On his website, an example would be the R908.

If I were to get the single row pave engagement band, then a single row pave wedding band would be flush with the engagement band. What the heck do people do when they get the 3 row pave engagement ring bands? Obviously when you have a strip of diamonds down the middle and both sides of the engagement ring band, and the same on a matching wedding band, won’t the diamonds always be rubbing against each other??? The single row bands have metal on the sides so they can come up right next to each other so how does it work with the 3 rows?? I’ve seen plenty of pictures of bridal sets with 3 rows on both bands, but never a picture of how it looks on someone actual finger?! And the ones I do see on pricescope, usually people write “pave bands” instead of “single row” or “3-row pave bands” so I can’t tell in the picture if I’m looking at single or 3-row.

I do see that Leon has a metal band that can go in between the two rings in his additional photos of the R908 if you wanted matching bands. #1- I don’t like it, and #2- wouldn’t the metal just get scratched??

Is there any way to have these rings sit flush with each other, or even have them welded together?

Wouldn’t having 3 rows on the engagement band and the wedding band defeat the purpose if the two rows that touch each other are basically now covered up by each other?? Isn’t that a waste of money on extra diamonds or am I just not envisioning it right???
Just to clarify I am talking about the pave BANDS only. The setting of the E-ring is a single stone solitaire on a pave band. Some bands have the single pave strip, in other words, a row of very small diamonds around the band. The one I am getting has three rows of very small diamonds around the band: one down the middle and one down each side... the pave diamonds curve with the band. The wedding band is the same deal and the pave diamonds curve with the band. So just wondering how that works when they are sitting right next to each other on the finger.

    • ANSWER:
I think my ring is like what you're talking about, but the sidestones in mine are actually round channel set, here's a picture: http://www.moissaniteco.com/round-brilliant-moissanite-6prong-trellis-engagement-ring-p-9778.html Here's a picture of it on a finger if it helps any: http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/ac80/persesuede/Ringaling/sed493.jpg (sorry, it's a bad picture)

      I have two wedding bands:
      1. A plain 2 mm palladium band.
      2. A band that matches the engagement ring, but one has a single row of stones on the top (the shoulders) Like this: http://www.moissaniteco.com/18mm-moissanite-round-channel-eternity-ring-p-5516.html

I don't wear either though as I'm not married yet. When I am, I can use the 2mm band as a spacer between the two rings.

I understand with pave vs. channel set the stones would likely stick out more and you would then not achieve a flush fit with a wedding band and you would have problems with the stones scratching the band. As I see it your options are:

      1. Get a band with only stones on the top and allow it to get scratched up a little.
      2. Get a band with stones on three sides, but 1/3 of those stones will be hidden.
      3. Get a spacer ring between the band and e-ring which will sustain all of the damage. You can get something really tiny.
      4. You may be able to have the ring soldered, only if there is some metal on the sides to be soldered.

You will note some rings with pave on the side are actually on an angle so a band will fit flush with it, here's an example: http://www.moissaniteco.com/round-moissanite-pave-wedding-set-p-8395.html It looks like this might be the case with that particular leon mege ring too. Here's a more similar example: http://www.moissaniteco.com/round-moissanite-pave-style-wedding-set-p-9707.html

And, you've noted that this style of ring means a lot of stones will be hidden once you add a wedding band. Sure makes those stones kind of pointless, but you like what you like. While 1/3 of the stones from my engagement ring will be hidden when I wear a wedding band, I don't plan on always wearing a wedding band so it won't always be a problem. But, my ring was very affordable, if you're spending a pretty penny on those stones it might be hard to then just hide them.

  42. QUESTION:
    Wedding Reception Camera Card Wording?
I am getting married on Saturday and the only thing left to do is figure out the wording for the disposable cameras that are being placed on the tables... Can anyone find a website that gives examples of the wording that will explain the reason for the cameras sitting on the tables or give me some advise on the wording? Much thanks to you for helping.

    • ANSWER:
This is what our card says. Use the camera on the table to take candid pictures of all our friends, and family... The fun, the special moments, and of course those not-to-be forgotten shots. Pass the camera around, let everyone enjoy the fun. When all the pictures are taken, just leave the camera on the table. I hope this helps...

  43. QUESTION:
How to word reply cards in French?
Hi! Can anyone give me a link to a website where I can look at French examples of what to write in wedding reply cards? Or if you had French ones yourself, can you share what you wrote? Thank you!

    • ANSWER:
Trying going to yahoo!frances website and typing in invitation (it the same word in english and French I think) and seeing what you get.
Also, babblefish.com's free translator works okay, its not the best, but It might be helpful.
If all else fails, go to barnes and nobles, and sit in the foreign language section and read through some of the books, they should have examples.

Can someone help me find this website?
There is a website I once visited months ago, and can't remember the name or address of. Basically, it was a site with information about where you could find the designers of certain outfits you might see on TV or in movies. For example, at the time I was looking for the designer of Lily's wedding dress in How I Met Your Mother, but there were many other, less significant outfits posted as well.

If anybody knows what I'm talking about, I'd appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks!

  48. QUESTION:
    in lieu of wedding favors?
Through Y!A I have figured out what I want to do for favors...I had never heard of this possibility, but i think its wonderful! Charitable donations...I looked into the Diabetes Assoc. as my mom passed away from diabetic complications- we are considering getting "In Memory of"

this is the website, click on any of the "examples" to see what the wording would be

    https://www.diabetes.org/support-the-cause/make-a-donation/wedding-favors.jsp

Do you think this would be morbid?

    • ANSWER:
Not at all. As a matter of fact, donations are common now in place of your regular wedding favors. Some charitable organizations will even provide you with some kind of kit or something to put it all together for your guests.

If it's something that is close to your heart, then go for it.

  49. QUESTION:
How much, on average, does it cost to have a printing company print this invitation?
I am looking at this invitation for my wedding and I'm wondering if the cost will be worth it with that much black ink. Has anyone used this website or a similar one and had a company print them on paper that you purchased?

    http://designbetty.com/card/word_2_template_WI-1094_examples-wedding-invitation-announcement

    Thanks!
    http://designbetty.com/card/template_wedding_invitation_announcement

    Invitation Name: WI-1094

    • ANSWER:
The thing about these kinds of invitations is that they rarely look that good. Do YOU think Kinkos does wedding-quality printing? I dont. They are good for office presentations and binders and thats about it.

They cannot print to the edge of the page, so you have to trim them? That will be headache and I guarantee you will waste a lot of time and money.

With proper invitation printing company, they are set up to print their designs. Though you can choose fonts and colors because that is just a matter of setting up the type. Also, they are set up to print on the paper they have. You cant just give them your own paper, although you can choose from their selection.

If you want to DIY, I suggest you do it yourself at home. Kinkos cant do anything better than you can do with a decent home printer. Choose a design that does NOT go to the edge of the paper, or you will have to deal with trimming and slight variations (printing on a slight angle) will be incredibly obvious. Also choose a design that does not have a dark background with white type, that never turns out well.

If you are not up for this, I suggest you go through a real company that does the printing and all for you. The cost is definitely worth the final product, and the headache you will save yourself.

  50. QUESTION:
Where can I learn more about photography?
I'd like to learn more about photography, but can't pay for it. Is there a website or something that will give me information about things a camera will do (with photo examples), flash and how to use it, diffusers and how to use them, etc.? Most of what I'm finding online revolves around "outdoor" photography. I need something that teaches more on wedding-type photography. Thanks for any help!

    • ANSWER:
There are literally hundreds of websites and pages on the internet with this kind of information. A quick search on Google will throw up plenty of options for whichever subject you wish to learn, I advise you to just look a little harder.
